“Molly Prewett,” James acknowledged the younger witch with a grin. They’d always had an odd friendship, based equally on mutual affection and frustration. He saw her as something of a stern little sister, constantly trying to put him and the boys on a more serious path and being thoroughly unimpressed by their pranks. Although admittedly, he’d been relating to her a bit more lately with his newfound interest in schoolwork and his admission that maybe getting good grades was fairly important for his future after all. “I remember that — it’s no fun. But we both know you’ll pass your OWLs with flying colors, just don’t let them get to your head.”

He opened his mouth, faking an air of shock. “Slogging through— oh no, Molly, you must be mistaken. You know me, always up to something — mischief and the likes. I am definitely not slogging through anything, much less schoolwork,” he said with a rictus of distaste. “I’ll take one of those though,” he said with a chuckle as he stole one of the sweets she’d placed between them. @mol-prewett​

“A much better greeting, James. How’s your day going then?” Molly asked with a laugh as she looked over at him. ”Well, I appreciate the vote of confidence. I need a spell to muffle the lectures. I swear, half of OWL testing is an unspoken mental test to see if you can hold up under the pressure of expectations.”  "Oh forgive me for misspeaking.” Molly laughed as she grabbed a sweet from the tin herself. “Oh yes, if only the rest of us could get by on the natural talent in the flick of our wrist and our good looks.” She laughed as she shook her head. “Unfortunately, I owe Slughorn an essay on the properties of Moonstone and its uses in potion-making. Which will be nothing more than slogging.” She nibbled at the sweet as she leaned her head to the side-eyeing him. “Mischief and the likes? Why does that phrase always make me a little nervous coming from you?” She teased lightly though there was a look in her eye that bore a hint of concern in her eye. She’d refrain from saying anything unless something was actually afoot.

Peter arched a brow, “I mean you might be able to swing it, if you can come up with a good enough agreement,” he replied, eyeing the ‘pet.’ The teen took a seat beside the red head, feeling the breeze on his cheeks. “I mean that’s quite impressive maybe Mcgonagall you keep it because of that alone,” he grinned. He bit his lip, “kinda puts my ordinary owl to shame,” he laughed.

“I was just considering smuggling it up to the dorm in my bag.” Molly admitted with a shake of her head with a shrug and a smile as she shook her head “McGonagall break the rules? I’m not sure I could talk her into that.” She laughed a little as she shook her head, “I doubt that. And if only I was as able at everything as I am at nonsense when I’m bored of actual practical studying.”

“I think an iguana is a great option for a wizarding pet. But maybe you should charm it so that it looks like a rat to others?” He suggested as he towered over the Prewett sister. He hadn’t spoken to Molly a lot, but he had assumed that Fabian would have told her about him. What he didn’t know was if Molly approved of it at all. Regardless, there was nobody around and he sat down on the grass. He began to pick individual blades to keep his hands busy. “I think I can show you how, I’ve never done it before but I’ve read it somewhere.” 

He paused before continuing, “I – I was wondering if you had any suggestions on learning BSL? I found a couple of muggle books, but I need one with, well, you know, wizarding objects?” 

“Isn’t it? Rat, Toad, Cat seems so limiting when there are so many solid options.” Molly said as she looked up at him, leaning her head to the side as if deciding if she wanted to engage with him for a moment. Molly absolutely adored both of her older brothers, but their relationships with her while both close were decidedly different which might have been accepted more in the last summer, but she trusted Fabian’s judgment implicitly. With an opportunity like this presenting itself to form her own opinion, how could she resist? Not to mention, she was intrigued by the prospect he was presenting. “Could you really? I have to admit I’m rather impressed with myself that I managed to get this far. I probably shouldn’t press my luck but if you could.”  “Hmmm....” Her lips pursed as she looked up at the tree above as if she could find a suggestion to offer there. “I’m assuming there are none in the library if you’re asking me? I think I’ve never seen a magical book on BSL.” She took the idea off the table with a little sigh, before she perked up a little, “It’s not exactly an ideal solution, but perhaps if you considered a different language. Something from the Eastern world, maybe, where they’re more inclined to believe in magical things. I know it’s a lot of translating, but short of spelling or developing your own magical BSL.”

“What now–” threw James with a faux air of exasperation. Contrary to popular belief, James Potter did spend a decent amount of time studying. A lot more than anyone would have probably thought, especially since he’d decided he wanted to be an Auror but figured out that the Gryffindor golden boy persona worked best if he didn’t look like he had to try hard at anything, ever. Closing the books he’d opened around him at the Gryffindor table, he looked up at the intruder, knowing that Charms homework would probably have to wait until tonight now that someone needed his attention.

"Why how lovely to see you as well." Molly raised an eyebrow at the air of exasperation testing to see if it felt something was genuinely wrong and then flashed a warm smile as she fetched her own book and parchment from her bag. "Every single professor is attempting to drown us in work this year, as if the ten thousand daily lectures on the importance of OWLs doesn't drive it home enough." There might have been an extra flair of dramatics in both her tone and actions, but frankly it reflected her emotions after her last Transfiguration class.

It was always better out than in though and she felt better having given voice to her frustrations. "Don't let me keep you from...." She waved her hand over the now closed books. "I thought slogging through it with company sounded more appealing today is all." She explained as she produced the tin of sweets her mother had sent this morning placing them in the middle of the table.

Molly had long ago found what she deemed the perfect spot to study outside. The tree offered a comfortable back rest or ample shade to lay on a blanket. Today, she'd gone outside to work on Transfiguration because she knew the weather was changing and she wanted to soak up as much as she could.

She had grown bored turning the teacup back and forth between a cup and a rat so now she had quite the most beautiful iguana rather than a croaking toad. His colora might be a little unnatural but it didn't seem to hurt him. "I think perhaps I shall just keep you like this." She cooed softly to the creature on her arm. "Do you think perhaps it sort of fits into the pet guidelines?" She speculated out loud as someone's shadow appeared on her blanket pulling her attention.

(Halloween Party) (closed for @arthrweasley) Molly loved the holidays at Hogwarts they were so festive and over the top that it was impossible not to get into the spirit of things, not that it took much encouragement for Molly to get into the spirit of things but it certainly was more fun when everyone was into it. Not to mention, that a night where she wasn’t buried under OWL work or feeling the pressure of it all was a night she intended to enjoy to it’s absolute fullest. 

She’d spent probably too long getting ready with Poppy and Joanna, but it had been the best kind of fun. So far the party had been everything she’d hoped and they’d spent every minute since they’d arrived living it up. The drinks were flowing freely and Joanna had been her favorite dance partner of the night so far, but they’d gone their separate ways for now which left Molly to explore the party on her own. She’d left the dance floor in search of a drink, but there was so much to look at and explore she’d taken the long way around. There were so many things to be seen and so many of her classmates costumes to both admire and ponder. She’d just made up her mind to grab a drink and rejoin the swell of fun when she spotted a familiar face up ahead so she ordered a second drink. 

She took a moment to enjoy the swirl of the skirt of her dress as she spun around before she headed towards Arthur with a purpose, a little bounce in her step and a smile. “You looked as if you could use a drink and maybe some company.” She said as she sidled up offering him one one the glasses. “I’m not sure precisely what’s in it, but it looks delicious. Join me?”

Reece nodded with a smile “just think of how much better you’re morning tea would be with something else to focus on other than the daunting task of making it through all your courses” she let out a loud short burst of laughter “merlin you’re right. I am very happy that I’ve never had to come into contact with anything flying at my face. Outside of quidditch balls that is.” Reece let out another short laugh at Molly’s slight change of subject and suppressed a sigh of resignation at the topic of quidditch “well I’m pretty sure Amos will cry if we don’t win the house cup so I reckon the threat of that alone should inspire us to win at least a few matches. How do you think Gryffindor will fair this year?”

"A distraction before having to drag myself through a day of lessons would be a dream.”  Molly admitted with a small laugh and a sigh, “I honestly thought Gid and Fab were exaggerating in only the way my brothers can when they talked about how heavy the workload would be this year, but somedays I feel like I might never unbury myself.” She admitted with a shake of her head. “Oh no. Not tears. We should hope to avoid that, though I’m not sure it wouldn’t do the same to James. There’s a fiery determination there that I have to admire.”

LOCATION: Halls of Hogwarts STATUS: Open to Everyone One of the things that Molly loved most about Hogwarts was that you could walk down the same hallway everyday for seven years and encounter something new every time. Between her fellow students, the portraits and the castle itself. The truth was today she was meandering without much of a purpose which is how she’d allowed herself to be pulled into one of Sir Cadogan’s seemingly endless and winding tale. She watched the poor knight fall sideways as if some invisible foe had attacked, but she was pretty sure he simply couldn’t keep himself upright. In truth, for about ten minutes she had been looking for a polite out to the conversation. She perked up when she spotted the solution to her problem. “It has been an absolute pleasure, but I see someone I must speak with urgently.” She told the knight importantly a look in her eye that hope conveyed that she would not leave under any other circumstance. 

She gave a little skip bounce as she darted away from the portrait, calling a promise she’d talk to him later as she rushed to catch up with the person she’d spotted ahead. She could fake but if he hopped on his pony and followed her progress along portraits she didn’t want to be a liar, so she sped up a little so she could step in front of them. “Merlin’s beard I feel like I might owe you a bag of sweets for choosing to come this way and inadvertently rescuing me.” She said in a single breath. “Sometimes I finagle myself into situations and don’t realize it was a mistake until its too late.”

Reece smiled “well a little entertainment never hurts, you know variety is the spice of life” She began an exaggerated bow as Molly clapped her hands “thank you, thank you”. She sat down next to the other witch and placed the two of the three apples back into the bowl. She took a bite of the bright red apple, she smiled at Molly as he finished her bite of the apple,, she shrugged “oh it’s not that hard, my dad taught me when I was younger to improve my hand-eye coordination. I could teach sometime if you wanted” her father had taught in hopes that it would make her a better quidditch player. She let out a laugh imagining the house-elves trying to juggle “that would definitely make meals time far more exciting”  

"You can say that again. And sometimes it can get a little stale in here, not that it’s not great, but a little entertainment could pep things up a bit...We need a suggestion box for all these quality ideas.” Molly nodded as she looks at her with a laugh as she turned back to her own food. “That’s certainly the most fun method of improving hand eye coordination I’ve ever seen. It certainly beats bouncing a ball aginst the wall and trying to catch it before it slams you in the face.” She gave a little shrug with a look that said she definitely hadn’t dodged or caught fast enough more than once. “Speaking of dodging things. How’s the team shaping up this year?”

“Oh come on” Reece wasn’t sure how this particular debate about juggling began but she did know that she defiantly had the upper hand in this bet “you’re telling me you don’t think I have the hand eye coordination to juggle?”. She scoffed grabbing at the large red apples on the table in front of her. It was simple tossing the fruit into the air and catching it with her opposing hand and the apples moved effortlessly through the air. “See I told I could do it” She smiled widely.   

Molly could help but let a small bubble of laughter burst from her lips as she watched Reece, “You know? That wasn’t exactly what I meant when I said that  I thought the elves could be more creative than just apples in a bowl on the table.” She set down her fork with a smile as she put both of her hands together in a small round of applause, “But, honestly, hats off, because I’d be hard-pressed to pull that off wand in hand, let alone the muggle method. You could always teach the elves and then we could have entertainment with our fruit. As long as it doesn’t bruise it all up, I suppose.” She told her with an easy smile as she picked her fork backup “Was that a first try? Or did you train for it?”

↳ BIOGRAPHY:

Molly Prewett is the youngest Prewett child, though her demeanour was suggest otherwise. Molly has always been strong willed, content with being the voice of reason to her two older brothers Fabian and Gideon. They would often try and tease Molly, puling pranks or calling her childish names. She would never nibble and give them the satisfaction. Rolling her eyes stoically over breakfast and clapping back with something more intellegent that would have her father spitting out his cereal in a fit of laughter. Although the Prewett family didn’t have favourites, no one could deny that Molly was made in her father’s image when she was born which had bonded them closer than her brothers.

He’d often tell her she had ‘spunk’ or ‘moxy’, or other words used to describe argumentive women with roll curls popular in Muggle films in the 30s, she’d later learn from her friend Arthur Weasley. Molly’s father worked as an auror for the Ministry, after a long hard day he’d sit with his children and tell them they could be anything they put their minds to - which made their minds race with posibilities. Molly wanted to be just like her father one day and although she knew the road ahead was a long one she was happy to work hard in order to get there.

Courageous and loyal, Molly was placed in Gryffindor with the hat barley touching her head before it shouted out her house with glee. Due to her warm and friendly nature, quickly people began flocking to Molly, wanting to feel sheilded by her positivity as they felt lost in this strange new place. Molly’s best friend, Joanna Hewitson she met just before the sorting ceromony. A shy student, Molly noticed Joanna trembling in front of the large doors the lead to the great hall, whispering inaudible phrases to herself. Instinctively Molly moved from the back of the queue to Juliet and asked her what she was whispering. Joanna was a muggle-born student and was whispering David Bowie lyrics to herself to calm herself down. Molly introduced herself, said she wanted to know more about this David Bowie and entered the hall alongside her. They have been friends ever since. 

Due the infamous prankster ways of her two older brothers, Molly had a reputation before she had taken her first class at Hogwarts as a troublemaker which she quickly tried to distance herself from. Though Molly cares deeply for her older brothers her childhood taught her to be both to be resilient and talented at hexes, jinxes and duelling. Molly is a proud member of the duelling club, able to even give Alice Lightwood a run for her money. A fierce friend, Molly is known to break the rules in order to protect those she cares about, once sending a howler to the Marauders during dinner one evening in The Great Hall as penance for stealing Arthur Weasley’s broomstick and hiding it in the room of requirement after one of their parties, which made all of the students and her two brothers bark with laughter. 

Renown for being a straight tealker, Molly has has the natural ability to call things out as she sees them and stand up for those who need it. She has a distate for lying and childish pranks which has sparked her odd friendship with James Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew. Similar to how she behaves with her older brothers, Molly tries her best to parent the marauders with little success, trying to send them down the path of the straight and narrow, though they often ruffle her hair and tell not to worry. It’s clear to Molly that the boys see her as a concerned younger sister, though Molly is happy to play the role. She is the closest with Remus Lupin, who often feels like the only sane member of the boys, though he also is not immune to a Prewett-style telling off when needed. 

Though Molly is not known for her academic abilities she is known for her dedication to a cause which peaks her interest. A passionate witch, Molly is a big believer in equity and a member of Magic for Peace. Run-ins with older witches such as Bellatrix Black have resulted in some heated duels that although resulted in points being taken from Gryffindor have also earned Molly various parties held in her name by the Marauders. A fantastic cook Molly often sneaks down to the kitchens to help the House Elves cook the feasts, following recipes and tasting her food with joy. A living legend in her own right, Molly Prewett is the greatest friend anyone could ask for, she’s a firey pocket rocket with a taste for danger as long it benefits a greater cause.
