Jakob might have been one of the few people who disliked having days off. It wasn’t because he loved his job— although Clara was one of his closest friends. It was because, as someone more shy than outgoing, Jakob disliked leaving what was familiar to him. Still, he put on bravado and thought of getting some coffee in town. Once upon the coffee shop, the smell of the brew filled up his nostrils, and everything seemed to have been running smoothly, at least until he turned around to find a table and ran straight into someone else, knocking his iced coffee all over them. “I’m so, so sorry,” he apologized profusely while his hands moved frantically in the air in an attempt to remedy the situation.
Daina had decided that a day in the village was exactly what she needed. She had already spent several hours in the spa being pampered and relaxing, and then moved onto a shopping spree. At least as much of a spree as the island would allow. Now it was time for a drink and snack break and the coffee shop into town was exactly the right spot for it. She entered first, her guard seeming to have changed from protector to the carrier of most of her purchased items and she led the way up to the counter. She had almost made it when a figure was suddenly there and she let out a squeal as she felt cold wetness splatter across her front. With wide eyes she looked from her soaked clothing to the man who was doing some kind of dance. “Awe man, this is my favourite Chanel skirt.”
