“I Would Leave Me If I Could” reminds me of BADLANDS, in a way. It’s a naive and raw assemblage of poetry from my adolescence to my early adulthood. I’ve always said that I had my whole life to write my first album, and no time at all to write the second. The same feels true for books, I think. Maybe it’s time to get the next one cooking…

I remember asking my ex to preorder this for my birthday. (The alternate cover 🥲) When the day came, she realized that she just never placed the order. I immediately went bought it myself. I still have this book, of course, I pick it up a lot when my mind is wandering and a lot when it’s not. A look into someone else’s inside thoughts that can sometimes mirror my own. Happy 5 years to a collection of poetry that changed me and was ,ironically, a turning point in my life. @tiredandlonelymuse I can’t wait to read whatever thoughts become outside in the next book.
