FRUSTRATION

Ugh!!!! Adult life is HARD, especially with an ADHD child and having no understanding of his brain. I can’t explain how helpless I feel every night. Lately, or at least for the past two weeks or so, nights have been exhausting. He just turned 7 and I love him so very much, he’s my first born and only born. I just want to understand what goes through his mind. Every night starts out so well, we normally play Monopoly and let me tell you sometimes this kid can totally romp us! He’s so good after school but then after the typical night, the terror starts... Dinner time is a NIGHTMARE, Bedtime is a NIGHTMARE, Bath Time is a NIGHTMARE, everything after coming home from school, doing homework, and playing a nice family game is a NIGHTMARE! I don’t know what to do about it nor do I know how to get through to him. I want to share my story of how we came to Tennessee from Connecticut and I will possibly next time. I just need to get it all out..... ALL OF IT, ALL OF THE FRUSTRATION AND CONFUSION.

Another Day Another Melt Down

Well his birthday went pretty smoothly.... minor little bumps but we got through it. Tonight on the other hand is a completely different story. All i asked him to do was to wash his hair............ wellllllll that turned into an hour long temper tantrum screaming match! All that for a 30 second hair wash! I swear I will never understand the ADHD mind, I’m trying to I really am but it is so difficult. I was brought up a certain way, you were told to do something and you did it plain and simple. If you talked back (which of course we rarely did) we knew what the consequence would be. To take 30 years of having been parented one way and try to change it is a seriously long road. I just want to get it, I want to know what is going on in there. I would love to have both of out brains scanned together just to see the differences,............ Maybe someday!

ADHD Momma Here....

Momma of an ADHD son here.... this is my first blog so be patient please!!! Son turns 7 tomorrow, today has been one of those days where you just feel defeated and need a good cry. I’m so tired of fighting with him to get him to do ANYTHING! Hoping his birthday goes better tomorrow.... off for some zzz’s
