The Nursery at the End of the Rainbow” 🌈
Once upon a soft and squishy evening, in a world not so far from here, there was a little one named Pip. Pip wasn’t quite big, and they weren’t quite tiny either. But when the stars came out and the sky turned to lavender, Pip always felt a little… littler.
One rainy afternoon, Pip followed a rainbow that appeared after a storm, its colors twinkling like jellybeans. As they waddled closer, their diaper crinkled softly with each step. The end of the rainbow wasn’t gold — it was something even better: a glowing nursery, nestled between two fluffy clouds.
The door opened all by itself, as if it had been waiting just for Pip.
Inside, the nursery was full of warm pastel colors, floating mobiles, and soft lullaby music drifting through the air like a gentle hug. The floor was covered in cushy foam tiles, and the whole room smelled faintly of baby powder and vanilla milk.
“Welcome, Little One,” said a kind voice.
It was the Caretaker, a tall, gentle figure dressed in cozy pajamas, with soft hands and a voice that made Pip feel instantly safe.
“You must be sleepy after your big adventure,” they said with a smile. “Let’s get you ready for bedtime.”
Pip felt their cheeks warm up and nodded shyly, clutching their favorite plushie, Mr. Waggles the floppy-eared puppy.
The Caretaker guided Pip to the changing table — which was enormous and so comfy, it felt like lying on a marshmallow. With gentle hands, they unfastened Pip’s wet diaper and cleaned them up with warm wipes, humming a lullaby all the while. Soon, Pip was taped into a fresh, thick nighttime diaper with stars on it that glowed faintly in the dark.
“There we go,” the Caretaker said, giving Pip’s tummy a soft pat. “All dry and cozy.”
Next came fluffy footie pajamas — sky blue with tiny sheep and clouds on them. Pip snuggled into them with a giggle as the zipper went up and the warmth settled in.
“Would you like a bottle before bed?” asked the Caretaker.
Pip nodded again, this time more eagerly. They were lifted gently into a rocking chair, swaddled in a soft blanket, and handed a warm bottle of milk. As they drank, the Caretaker rocked them slowly, humming a lullaby that made Pip’s eyelids droop.
When the bottle was finished, Pip let out a sleepy burp and rubbed their eyes. They were carried to a giant crib with tall rails and plush blankets. Mr. Waggles was tucked in beside them, and the mobile above played twinkling music as stars and moons spun slowly overhead.
“Goodnight, my sweet little one,” whispered the Caretaker, brushing Pip’s hair gently. “You’re safe, you’re loved, and you are oh-so-small.”
As the lullaby played and the stars twinkled above, Pip felt their thumb find its way to their mouth, and within moments…
They were fast asleep, dreaming of rainbows, cuddles, and endless naptimes in the magical nursery at the end of the rainbow.
