In Between The Sheets - Deborah Lippmann

So you know how Sephora has that nail polish bar? Well that's where I did ma nails :))))))) The base is essie's "Licorice" but let me tell you, the glitter changed the color to look more blue/purple. I honestly am not even going to try to match the accuracy of the glitter, or the color or anything. It's so difficult enough not to get the glitter to not reflect let alone the other parts. Just trust me, it is so beautiful!!!! I said to myself: "I know I will end up regretting this later" (due to the removal) but w.e it was worth it and I did it and I'm alive and that is all that matters.

Licorice - essie

Simply put: black. But the best thing about this nail polish is that it does not look cheap -- I had a Sally Hansen black nail polish, one of my first, and it was cheap looking. This had some class and distinction in its finish, even before the top coat. And yes, this was also used in Jean Paul Gaultier's show. And yes, the reason why I decided to wear it. 

Easy, breezy, beautiful, cover me. ; )

A-Taupe The Space Needle - OPI (Touring America Collection)

So basically the main reason why I even wanted to repeat a nail color (omg what wear a nail color more than once?!) was because I was looking through SS '14 fashion show stuff and saw that Marc Jacobs had done his nails for the show in brown -- to be precise "Bark" from their new beauty collection which of course includes lacquer. And to be honest, I love wearing nail colors from the runway shows. It goes hand in hand with that trickle down consumerist notion of buying into a brand #keepingitreal

Great easy color, and not so brown, but I thought it would be from what I remembered. The cashier from La Guzman, after she said that she really liked my nail color, said it best: "es como un beige" // it's like a beige for you peeps who no comprenden.

Deutsch You Want Me Baby? - OPI (Germany Collection)

I don't know why but I felt like the polish was tricky. especially toward the end of the nails because instead of smoothing out it stayed jagged. On the first coat it was streaky, second just fine, but when I added the third coat it felt unnecessary. 

The color was so red-orange, that the orange wasn't so pronounced. But it really did have a candy look to it, and I'm still wearing it now as we "speak".

Haven't The Foggiest - OPI (San Francisco Collection)

omg this was such a cool like nail polish because it was one of those that just looked so special and was so easy to apply it was like omg can I even get away with this right now? Yes the polish was a lot duller in the light than in the shade but w.e still the same.

Easy two coater, although i thought the polish needed three but it didn't.

Spinning Again - essie (Yogaga Collection)

So last year finally my gym had regular yoga and Pilates and of course I was there being a Pilates hottie. When this collection came out it spoke out to my new sporty spice lifestyle but I only got "Boxer Shorts" (which is amazing). 

I definitely, while although wanting to get more of the colors because of their name, did not get anymore. I recently acquired this one tho and when I saw it I was like "this one". It's a cool (not like blue cool) red color because it has like an orange-yellow-brown to it that makes it look unique....dare I say, edgy look. 

It's like an "ugly" red. It's not vibrant, or dull. It's like a lux flower pot.

Easy application, although I felt like the finish, even with top coat looked kinda low-brow. I dnk, just me.

My Vampire Is Buff - OPI (Euro Centrale Collection)

I'm honestly not even going to try to swatch this because I removed it a couple days ago. I loved it tho. Although the white wasn't as white as pictured here, it was perfect because it was the right amount of white with a kiss of yellow/beige. A light kiss: the kind someone gives you when they pity you. 

Formula wise I guess it was tough for me but others said it was easy for a white. I dnk I had to use 3 or 4 coats to get the gaps outta there. Easy to remove tho.

Fiercely Fiona - OPI (Shrek Forever After Collection)

This def is perty nice. My baby, Chococoroll, broke my ORLY "Lemonade" with one swift swing of her tail so although this is not as pastel it leaves me satisfied for that that is now gone. Also: this has green tones to it but on my skin I feel like the red is canceling out a lot of it. I'm hella red-brown, luv it.

Formulas wise: 3 coats, of course the first is patchy and even with three I had some patches and streaks but were not very visible until I stood in the sun. When I was in the sun I also noticed that the formula dried kinda cheap looking on some nails -- not so on the others. What i mean by that is that instead of being glossy and glass like it looked like skin or something. YOU KNOW THAT CHEAP NAIL POLISH LOOK. 

But also it should be noted by cheap I do not mean price wise, it just looks like lesser quality. Price never equates to high quality, never.

In The Cable-Car Pool Lane - OPI (San Francisco Collection)

I love this color!!!!! I think many people will think it is like "Casino Royale" (Skyfall/ James Bond) Collection but I didn't like Casino Royal because it was too purple and not dark or red enough -- of which both qualities "In the Cable-Car Pool Lane" posseses.

The formula was thin and needed three coats to reach full opacity but w.e. It made removing it super easy, like butta.

Alcatraz...Rocks - OPI (San Francisco Collection)

Alcatraz...Rocks is pretttty coooool! Marta kept thinking it was black and to me the contrast between the silver glitter and dark base makes it look mostly like caviar to me -- sometimes though, it looks like a bit glittery. It also reminds me of the New Orleans color palette. Easy formula, as usual with liquid sand, and very forgiving to me not filing my nails, lol.

A-Piers To Be Tan - OPI (San Francisco Collection)

  This color is like coffee, atole, more like champurrado, some say butterscotch -- it just kinda looks like yummy foods (especially the one you eat in the fall, caramel apples anyone?)! Which made me feel very comfortable eating  applying and looking at my nails. Easy application, two coater -- some people were saying that it was watery, to me it wasn't.

Peace & Love & OPI - OPI (San Francisco Collection)

So this is like the star of the show -- and I know why; it's like a mood ring on your nails! Except this reacts more to light. I've seen a lot of swatches but they tend to be flatter and don't show the dynamic of the color because it truly is a chameleon. I feel like the above image shows the full spectrum at full blast. From green sage, to purple foil, to plain foil. But at its most neutral (meaning that when the color is just sitting) it is just like a purple-tinted-silver. I like it. I don't feel like I was in love with it because I kinda like when colors are dynamic all the time without having tricks and lighting needing to be fully show the color off BUT it was cool and you should get it. Honestly, this color, like your face, looks best in the dark ;)

Easy two coats.

Can't Find My Czechbook - OPI (Euro Centrale Collection)

I want to note this is still not as accurate as IRL. I didn't realize how complex this color was until it was time to swatch. It's like a dusty sky blue, and not that green and muted like most other swatches I've seen. I would that my swatch is on point for the most part but in person there is a certain je ne sais quoi to it. Two coater for sure.

Oy-Another Polish Joke - OPI (Euro Centrale Collection)

surprise, surprise -- yet another nail swatch which is so different from most of the ones from the web. This is SO clearly not gold, even in the shade -- it's yellow, a shimmery glittery yellow at that, and no, it doesn't look like foil in the shade (yay!!!!!!). I love it though, it's pretty awesome. I added 3 coats only to help out my paint job (I have this in the minis and felt like that wasn't helpful) but you could def just use two. I guess you could use this on top of a different colorrrrrr....but.....why? lol

Suzi's Hungary AGAIN! - OPI (Euro Centrale Collection)

Is there such a thing as neon mauve? yes, this is. The formula was less than ideal. It is streaky, and even with three coats it still had patches. A ton of swatches that I saw were wayyyy off. It definitely isn't muted, for sure.

Tiffany Case - OPI (Bond Girl Collection)

Gorggg polish! It's like the color of the pool! and it shimmers on its own. Easy color, you could say it's a one coater but two definitely adds more saturation and richness. I love liquid sand because it is all the fun of glitter without the hassle of removing it (it removes as easy as regular polish. no foil needed).
