āAbsolutely!ā Sangyeon confirmed, smiling fondly at Ericās excitement.
While Eric was always the most passionate and excitable angel in his team, he certainly had his difficulties when it came to understanding humans.
He simply couldnāt understand half of the things they did in their everyday lives.
Why would you lie when you can simply tell the truth? Why would you ever be bored if there are thousands of things you can do in a day? Why would you drink alcohol if it tastes bad? Why are all the best-tasting foods so unhealthy for you? Canāt they just make healthy foods taste better? Why do humans spend so much time thinking about death when they will never know when it comes? Why do humans do things that are bad for them when they know theyāre bad for them?
Humans were a complete mystery to Eric.
āBut I thought I still had a few months of training left?ā he recalled. Based on his test results, Eric wasnāt supposed to be appointed a human to protect until his grades improved greatly.

Author's note: this was an old request for a specific member from another group, but I decided to repost it for Jay because this is a beautiful comfort fic that maybe, you, will need it one day :) originally called Taking Good Care but I changed it!
One of the worst feelings in this world is falling sick. It will make your body grow weaker and your senses will be limited as well. In addition, it made you feel guilty of whoever had to see you in that state or take care of you.
Albeit that means you would get better, it still made you feel bad. You rarely fall sick in a year but once you do, itās so bad. Your antibody having a hard time to fight the sickness.Ā
After a long week of piled-up works, your body decided that it will retreat once and for all. The amount of energy drained and stress building up was horrible.
Most of the time, you would know when you start to feel like it and tonight is the night. The bedroom of your shared apartment with your boyfriend was quiet, the tranquility surrounding the atmosphere.
The moon shone brighter tonight as its light touched the windowsill and the air conditioning in your room was turned off. Jay was sleeping peacefully with you by his side as he slowly woke up.Ā
Usually, youād snuggle to him as you sleep but he didnāt feel any touch.
Slowly turning to look at you next to him, he furrowed his eyebrows and found you were tossing and turning in bed. With a confused thought, he moved his hands to hold yours and found them feeling cold than his.
He got up, your breathing was getting heavier as he turned you to lay straight and examined your forehead. It is hot. With a pout, he touched your cheeks with his palm, and they were growing hot as well.
āY/n?ā He spoke.
You moved slightly, groaning and tried to open your eyes to look at him.Ā āMm?āĀ
āAre you feeling sick?ā
It was hard for you to speak so you nodded, rubbing your cheeks further into the pillow. It breaks Jayās heart to see you this weak. Taking good care of you is his number one priority.
Slowly, he moves away from the bed and walks out from the room. Striding towards the kitchen, Jay decided to make chicken soup and get a glass of water. While the soup is cooking, he prepared a damp towel to put on your forehead.
The smell of soup decorated the kitchen as he puts it into a bowl. With an extra dry towel and a damp one on his shoulder, holding the glass of water and bowl of soup, he walks back to the bedroom.
Your position shifted again as you kept turning left and right due to being uncomfortable. He sets down the stuff on the nightstand and pulls the sheets up to cover until your waist.
āY/n, babe.ā He patted your hand and slowly lets your head rest on the headboard.Ā āEat this first, okay?ā
You breathed in and out, trying to smile while nodding. Jay holds the bowl and scoops the soup, blowing on it before bringing it to your lips.Ā āAh~ā He motioned you to open your mouth and you followed, swallowing the good remedy he had for you.
After a few minutes, you managed to finish it and drank the glass of water while he taps your face with the damp towel before placing it on your forehead. Your hands found their way to meet his and you pouted slightly, earning a smile from him.
āIām sorry, baby. I made you do all the work.ā
He shook his head, squeezing your hand and rubbing your fingers.Ā āNo, Iād do anything for you. If it makes you feel a little better, Iām happy.ā
You smiled.Ā āI could never win this argument.ā
Jay got into the covers, kissing your cheek as you groaned.Ā āYouāre going to get sick too.ā
āIād love to be sick with you.ā He chuckled.
āUgh, Park Jongseong.ā You muttered.
āShh.ā He shushed you and brought you closer to him, wrapping your arms around him.
The night went on as he rubbed your back up and down, sang you lullabies even though you couldnāt fall asleep easily and kept leaving kisses on your face even when you already said not to. Part of you is always thankful for him.
He always tries to make sure youāre comfortable and it wouldnāt bother him at all.Ā
Lastly, he counted sheep with you. What a classic.
āY/n, count with me. One sheep, two sheep-ā
You continued his words, snorting and counted until you couldnāt count anymore. Thatās when he knows you fell asleep. Who knew counting sheep could work? But maybe it was because you were already ready to fall into a deep slumber.
The next morning came, you felt a bit better as you saw Jay sitting on the edge of the bed.Ā āMorning, sunshine.ā He spoke.
āMorning, mother hen.ā You giggled.
He glared at you before asking.Ā āAre you okay?ā
āYeah, better than before. Thank you.āĀ
Nodding, he told you that he got medicine from the clinic and that he took a day off to take good care of you. He already prepared breakfast and when you were about to go down and walk, he kneeled down in front of you with his back facing you.Ā
āNuh uh, let me give you a ride!ā
āJay? I can walk by myself!ā You laughed.
He turned around and gave his biggest pout.Ā āA princess needs an escort.ā Once he said that, his smile grew wider when you instantly smiled at his words.
āFine.ā You spoke.
You got on his back; he brings you slowly to the kitchen and onto the chair where the porridge is ready and a nice hot tea. This man is the epitome of sugar, you thought.
āThank you, baby. I know I will get well soon thanks to the best boyfriend ever.ā
Jay sat in front of you, agreeing to what you said while eating his portion.Ā

With that being said, you got up to shush him with a kiss so you can drown out the words he probably read from a poetry book. His actions mattered so much more, and you couldnāt be more thankful to have him caring for you.
