"Today, when I woke up, i heard someone crying in my house. It was my mother. She doesn't cry often, but when she does, I mostly know why.
It's been more than one year that I keep suicide thoughts in my head and I'm fighting against depression: and -I'd say- I'm winning.
I know better: if someone cries "out of nothing", it's never a nothing.
I got downstairs with a napkin and I handed it to her. She asked why, i simply answered "use it to sniffle your nose". She was starting to cry a little again and she turned to the other side, she didn't want to face me.
I hugged her, and she hugged me stronger, sobbing. I was crying too, now, but I was also smiling for her: I knew she wouldn't hide me anything, even her sadness.
And i was trying to cheer her, laughing a bit in the middle of the tears. "C'mon, stop the waterfall!"
I wasn't ready for what came next.
"I always hope your life will be better that mine", were her words.
Guys. If your parents are fighting, if they are nervous, angry, sad, think about them first, instead of yourself.
If you complain, "ah my life sucks, my parents are yelling everyday! They never listen to me!" think about them first, instead of yourself.
They are humans, just like you. The fact of being your parents doesn't make them stronger. They are humans, with dreams, hopes, wishes...
They want to have an happy life, too. The fact of being older doesn't mean that you can never get sad, they think about their troubles too, they ask themselves where did i go wrong when something is off.
Cheer your troubled parents up as you'd want to cheer up your troubled friends, because those people made the biggest changes in their lives only for you."
