Get yourself a man who would accept you no matter how dark your past was, and you lie in their lap as they hold a gun against your head. They'd play with your hair and tell you all the reasons they love you. But in the end they must kill you because the world wants to see you dead and it's their duty to save the world from people like you. "It's okay," you say calmly with a gentle smile, "I get it. You just do your job."
The night sky was cloudy, starless. Their eyes were watering and those tears reminded you of the missing stars. Glistening in the streets lamps. Whenever tears dropped, they were like warm and gentle shooting stars and each time you made a wish for them. You saw their fearful eyes, screaming 'anything but this!'. Yet at the end of the day you both were guard dogs of your fractions. Unwavering and loyal to the burden set on you.
"I wouldn't have it any other way. Not if it's you."
