Technically all three are Paleo’s kids, caused by a malfunction while using her gauntlet. It selected the closest males dna, which was Chris. Then Paleo’s prolonged time as a utahraptor guarding a nest of eggs that kinda just materialized.
This is my excuse to make fankids. Unfortunately, even during this, they’re too stupid to realize they like each other.
I want you to explain in over the top detail exactly how Paleo’s gauntlet works. How does this thing work down to the DNA level, potentially harmful effects, get scientific about it

The Paleo Gauntlet File (Authorized Users Only)
The Gauntlet DNA Mechanisms and Transformation:
The Paleo Gauntlet alters the users DNA to a base level, completely reconfiguring the users body and instincts, but it does keep the human mind and consciousness intact as to ensure that the user won’t fall back into those primal instincts. The DNA used to transform the body was originally built off hypotheticals until the actual genetic code of these prehistoric creatures were synthesized and implemented into the gauntlet, where inbuilt syringes would fill with the proper DNA, and inject into the users arm, simultaneously taking the users DNA to later turn them back.
(There are many of these hypothetical DNA sequences left in the gauntlet as creating the proper sequences takes time, so many are still not accurate and unfortunately, come with major side effects.)
This would then cause their body to change into the prehistoric creature of their choosing.
While Paleo designed for there to be a large bright flash of light during transformation as to hide the process, the transformation itself is a brutal process, the user cannot use any medication to dull the pain as it would interfere with the change, so they are subjected to the feeling of their bones breaking and reshaping, their flesh stretching and tearing as it turns to scales/feathers/etc. The bright flash is usually followed by a scream that at times transitions into a guttural sound that borders on something prehistoric. Paleo often chooses to not use the gauntlet due to this, she only uses it in dire situations.
(The user can feel every change their body is subjected to. It is advised that the user take extended breaks between each transformation.)
Side Effects:
Minor Side Effects:
- Dizziness
- Fatigue
- Nausea
- Bleeding from the nose
- Dehydration
- Sore limbs
- Stumbling/Unsteady on legs
Major Side Effects:
- Massive urges to hunt or consume raw meat (Note: Only occurs when carnivorous creatures are used)
- Broken limbs
- Unconsciousness/Passing out after reverting to original form
- Bleeding from avulsions/lacerations/abrasions/etc
- Minor loss of memory
- Heightened aggression
- Alterations to base body
- Animalistic instincts (can lasts for a few hours to a few days)
Malfunctions:
Minor Malfunctions:
After the first few transformations using the hypothetical DNA sequences, Paleo found that certain parts of her body had been altered subtly, causing alarm but thankfully, they were only slight changes, causing no further issue.
- Sharper canines and back teeth
- Heightened senses
- Injuries were found to heal faster than average
- Heightened strength and endurance
Major Malfunctions: (Access can only be authorized by Aviva and Paleo)

During an outing with the Kratt Brothers, they were confronted by Zach Varmitech, which was not an out of ordinary situation for the group, but during the confrontation, Chris had received an injury, thankfully minor, but in the moment, Paleo had decided to use the Gauntlet, which should’ve been a standard procedure, unfortunately, Zach had interrupted the transformation, which caused a disruption between the Gauntlet and Paleo, cutting off her human mind from it.
The prehistoric creature she had chosen in the moment, was Allosaurus.
Instead of retaining her human conscious, Paleo described the experience as simply falling asleep, she was not aware of anything that transpired after transforming.
Chris and Martin described the following: [Begin Transcript]
M: “After the bright flash faded, I saw how her posture shifted, I knew in the moment that it wasn’t Paleo…it was a wild animal. But I knew I had to stay with Chris, the situation was getting too dangerous, and he was injured.”
Shortly after this, the Allosaurus, Paleo, attacked the approaching Zachbots, tearing them apart, causing Zach to retreat, which likely saved his life, as the Allosaurus then turned its sights onto the brothers. It wanted to hunt.
C: “When I saw Paleo look towards us, I knew we were in trouble. We had figured out that the gauntlet malfunctioned, we just didn’t know how to fix it.”
Martin had the right idea, picking Chris up and had already begun to move away when the Allosaurus was distracted by the Zachbots, which were only a temporary distraction, as it caught whiff of the blood coming from Chris’s injury. It watched them for a moment, one that felt like hours, but during this time, Martin called the Tortuga, informing us on board of the malfunction, and their need of emergency pickup.
C: “When she was just watching us, I thought for a second that maybe…maybe she was back to normal, that it was just a quick glitch. Then she moved.”
With an almost deafening roar, the Allosaurus charged at them, but was intercepted by Aviva and Koki on the Buzz Bikes, Aviva crashing into the Allosaurus’s side, knocking it off balance to gain enough time to get Chris and Martin on the bikes and then back to the Tortuga, where it was hovering in the air, out of reach from anything on the ground.
M: “I felt bad, leaving Paleo down there, we were just lucky we weren’t near any civilization. And that roar…it sounded less like a roar and more like a scream…it was so human.”
It took multiple weeks of tracking the Allosaurus down to properly contain it in a security field and then attempting to disconnect the Gauntlet, which was at the time, a collar, from the Allosaurus, having to use a hook and pole to activate the release mechanism. Which luckily resulted in the immediate reversal of the transformation, returning Paleo to her human body, albeit unconscious and injured. But she eventually fully recovered, informing us that she only remembered the confrontation with Zach and activating her Gauntlet, then it felt as if she had simply fallen asleep.
P: “I don’t remember much, just the Zach debacle. Then I just…woke up in the infirmary, I don’t even remember selecting the Allosaurus, just activating the Gauntlet. I remember waking up with a sick feeling, like I ate something I shouldn’t have.”
The sick feeling was later found to be from the amount of raw meat and blood Paleo consumed during the malfunction. We do not know what she consumed during this time. She has since recovered.
The Gauntlet was placed under reconstruction, firmer security measures have been implemented.
