âJust because you didnât this time, doesnât mean you wonât later.â The agent can see that the intention of the younger woman isnât to harm     itâs not just an act from the experience she had, she could see when someone was hiding something. Nothing in her expression gave her off. âI need to know that you are safe, for everyone.âÂ
She lets out what sounds like a whine, curling up further in the fetal position, and trying to hide her face before responding,
âIf you saw what I am, you wouldnât call me âsafe.â Youâd just think Iâm a monster.â Her voice is shaky, as if sheâs crying. Two glowing red dots suddenly appear on her shoulders, one on each side, as if theyâre an extra set of eyes. Thatâs when she looks back up at Alex, her pupils now glowing the same color red.Â
She stands, her body rising to be almost double Alexâs size; where smooth skin once coated her, sharp, bone-white plates juts out from her now-black, scaled skin. It appears to be some kind of natural, exoskeletal armor, forged over years of pain and conflict. Her hair has vanished, and her head, also covered by the white armor, extends backwards to connect into her back. As her transformation finishes, a clawed hand comes up to press against the glass, causing it to crack, even though the creature was hardly using her full strength.
âDo you see, agent?â she asks, her voice ghostly and hissing, âYou asked me my name, earlier, and I told you it was X. This is a half truth; my full name is Monster-X.â Those red eyes, all four, now peer right through Alexâs very soul, it seems. âSo, tell me, do you still think of me as the innocent girl you brought in?â
