Alright guys, lets do some dick riding and do a deep dive into Adam with some cogent, and thoughtful points about a man who is shamefully barely explored. The community either considers him an egotistical genocidal woman hating maniac, or just a fat asshole with no qualities. Lets explore some questions, and points, about this man's life and the people in it.
1. Adam had no choice what he was supposed to be. He was made to have children. He was made to serve Heaven, and he did. He had no physical autonomy, only direction, and expectation. Like a solider, or a child groomed into parentification/adulthood. This is very clear.
2. Lilith's book is biased. She never mentions how she lived in the Garden with Lucifer while Adam lived with Eve. Given how Adam is, how was that possible? And yet they coexisted--somehow. However, after the fall, Eve vanishes. This is critical. Why is Eve wiped from the history books AFTER the fall? Was she erased from Adam's life, but also, Hell's? How does THAT make Adam feel? Lilith rules over hell with Lucifer, but--where is his second wife? Why don't sinners look up to Eve, who is their creator?
3. Adam was raised by Heaven, and here are some pointers. Adam always wears his mask, which imitates background characters in the Angelic Council. For a character meant to be an Ego-Maniac, he certainly doesn't plaster his face, or name, on anything in Heaven. Even if he says he loves to do so.
4. Adam seems subservient to Heaven, despite his attitude. Sera shifts the answer for how you get into heaven to Adam when it should be her job. Adam has to make it up on the spot. I suspect Heaven put immense pressure on Adam, same way they did when he was in Eden. Lucifer mentions rules. These rules apply to *everyone*
6. And he makes it clear. He doesn't want to be associated with the worst versions of humanity; rapists, drug dealers, etc,. Say what you will about Adam, but, we know he doesn't do these things. Adam is a deeply broken, disassociated man. Yet he isn't without feelings. Regret when he makes Sera upset, Sadness after--humor, confusion, anger, bitterness.
7. Lucifer doomed his species, and not only that, Adam's legacy. Sinners and the horrific things they do make Adam look bad; they make his "purpose" and legacy look bad. Adam seems discarded by Heaven with no real purpose. And the only purpose he has is to prevent Hell being overpopulated, which is Lucifer's fault.
8. When we saw Adam's room, we saw his guitars, and his records. But no photos, portraits; no mementos. Nothing is there. Whatever his life was as a human is behind him.
9. Adam's insecurity with Sera makes it clear he still seeks attention, and approval. That kind of behavior doesn't come from an Egomaniac Misogynist who hates woman. He is complex; annoying, loud, bratty, but he's insecure, and most importantly, human.
He is so genuinely disappointed with him-self, and the situation. This is NOT how he SHOULD react per the fandom. Per the fandom, this man punches babies and makes women bake bread all day like that Mormon lady on Tiktok. PER THE FANDOM he's a catholic dad keeping women pregnant and not letting them wear shoes, or have rights, or speak.
But instead he...
Is super fucking sad. Look at his face. He literally looks like he is about to cry. He flew off to his room and cried into his pillow because he made mom mad (sera sucks btw, don't think I'm defending her. She is Mom failure. Failure of a Mother. Mom of the fucking year, my ass. Bull shit ass mother figure). 10. This is for the guitarspear shippers. Adam knowing who Angel Dust is implies a bit of "self-discovery." If he was created to make humanity, how could he be allowed to have feelings for men? We don't even see him with guy friends in Heaven in the short time he is there. Adam might be incredibly insecure around other male angels.
11. If he has had no one since Eve--someone made for him, like Lilith, imagine how lonely he truly is? Thousands of years without his second wife, or Cain (if Cain is here, and did kill Abel.) And if that all happened--how would this effect a human's mental health. The Loneliness, the Bloodshed, the way he separates him-self from him-self. The disassociation, masking, and bravado to continue being relevant, and "existing".
12. Not even Lute remembers Adam without his mask--why does Adam never show his face. Is he unable to look at him-self. Does he hate who he is? What he is? Does he want to be like the higher ranking Angels more than he wants to be "him"? Why wouldn't Adam flash the face of The First Man everywhere? Impress everyone? Talk about how pretty/hot he is?
13. Anyone who lives behind a mask... doesn't like them-selves. This is why I think there is WAY more lore and complexity to Adam than meets the eye. And I think Viv intends to explore it. A man who lost his legacy, his purpose, all the love in his life... a man that lost "who" he is, or never even knew what that was to begin with. Its a sad life to live. And its no wonder he's so loud, bratty, and annoying; he has to be, he has to be seen, and heard. So to cap it off. When you get past the lazy, self-serving, surface level observations; there are so many more questions than answers about this man's life, and the gaps in it. And you'll note I never once said he was an innocent, sensitive, uwu baby. But without truly knowing what happened that made him end up where he is, and seeing the cracks in his armor--its hard to just pick the side of "He was always bad." A man this insecure, this sensitive, with this many layers simply can't just be "evil bad white man". Thanks for reading!
