The Hurrian Hymn to Nikkal is the oldest surviving song in the world. It dates back to 1400 BC and was found in the Syrian city of Ugarit. The beautiful composition was a hymn dedicated to Nikkal, the Phoenician goddess of orchards whose name means  “Great Lady and Fruitful.”

My first time experimenting with iridescence and snake scales, "Spectra" marked a big turning point in my relationship with broader color palettes and complex textures. I have a lot of really good memories of the painting process.

Phrixus and Helle flying on the Golden Fleece

This is a kind of gift for my dear friend @laiapolypharmakos 🌿 as the other day we were talking about HOW MUCH she loves Phrixus and everything around him so I had to draw this. I think the world needs more Phrixus and Helle art.

I admit it was a good excuse to draw something related to this myth, which I do love too (everything related to the Argonautica 🥰), but apart from that, I find this one in particular especially ✨MAGICAL✨. It reminds me a lot of typical fairy tales about the wicked stepmother and the siblings running away... Only, this time, the ending is quite sad for Helle 😢. Life goes on for Phrixus (as Medea's brother in law, which is no small thing 🙃).
