Brother (2000), directed by Takeshi Kitano, carried a quiet discipline in every frame, and the wardrobe played into that without ever asking for attention. Yohji Yamamoto designed the costumes with restraint, loose black suits, wide shoulders, and a kind of stillness that matched the character on screen. The idea was never to stand out, but to sit inside the story, letting presence come from silence rather than display.
