“Yeah, yeah~ I should’ve brought a thicker jacket. No need to show off your feathers!” His cheeks flushed from both the air and his own embarrassment. There now was only one way to fix this predicament and it was to find the Boutique located in the city. If he could find it before freezing to death, that is. Luckily, there was a girl that seemed to know the area (or at least he hoped so).
“Excuse me~ Would you happen to know where the Boutique– A-achoo!” He couldn’t even finish his sentence when a sharp sneeze cut his words short. Great, the cold was really getting to him now.
With the appearance of the harsher, chillier months quickly approaching, the signs of the frigid winter that was to fall upon them this year were beginning to grow clearer. It had started out as mild as ever -- the temperature dropping a few degrees here, the wind picking up ever so slightly there. Before long, however, most of the multi-colored leaves that had clung desperately to the slim branches of nearby trees had fallen to the ground and been swept away into the night. The wind grew more temperamental as the days went on and soon enough, it wasn’t that out of the ordinary to see small clouds of warm air surfacing from your mouth.
Like many trainers who were traveling this time of year, the fae-like girl had opted to return home for the season in order to avoid adventuring in the frozen tundra of a region. She’d really wanted to pursue her trek towards the neighboring region, but she was hesitant to do so with the climate so drastically changing.
“It’s kind of nice to be back home though,” she said softly as she adjusted the weight of some groceries in her arms, reddish hues turning towards the Granbull at her side who was carrying a majority of the paper bags. He snorted in response to her words and she couldn’t help but let out a small giggle. No matter how much he denied it, she was sure he enjoyed being back too.
The two of them still had a good twenty minutes left to go before returning back to their residence, but the sudden sound of someone calling out to them made Granbull think it was going to be much longer than that.
“O--Oh, bless you..” she said once the taller male sneezed, causing her to shuffle back a step in surprise. He certainly didn’t seemed to be dressed for the weather and she briefly wondered if perhaps he was from elsewhere. She couldn’t remember seeing him before, but as her time was mostly spent in doors, she couldn’t be sure -- ah, but no later had she thought that that she recalled him asking where the nearest store was.
“I-- It’s not too far from here,” she said after a moment, easing into a timid smile as she quickly put down the bags -- much to Granbull’s annoyance -- and retrieved a neatly-pressed handkerchief from her pocket. She gently gestured for him to take it from her so he could wipe his nose. “We can show you the way.. uhm. if you’d like..”
