Gago (idiot) was the first word that Dennis learned. It was a word he heard often from Trinity when she was all snug on the couch scrolling through social media with her face mask on which she had also put on Dennis cause skincare is life as she said. Trinity would often use the phrase 'look at this gago' (look at this idiot) when she sees the most idiotic post in tiktok or twitter. She'd also use it when the pizza guy got their order wrong with a mumbled 'gago ata toh' (he must be an idiot). From spending too much time with her for 10 months Dennis would hear himself mutter it under his breath after an argument with his brother on the phone.
There were other words that he had picked up from her such as bakla (gay) which was another nickname he had earned after he had successfully hooked up with a guy from the gay clubs they often frequent during their day off. Phrases like kaya mo yan bakla (you can do it, gay) was something he had heard frequently when she wants to encourage him in doing (mostly stupid) things.
The Pitt is barreling with cases that Dennis can barely keep up with, this was his third scrub of the day after being puked on by a drunken patient and peed on by another patient who refused to use a catheter. Needless to say it was quite a shitty shift and Dennis was exhausted at the end of it. He sunk down at one of the chairs to finish up his charting along with a grumbling Trinity. Technically their shift is already over but since they have so much charting to catch up on they'll be here for another hour.
"Putangina." Dennis and Trinity said at the same time which earned a collective gasp from Perlah and Princess who was just about to clock out. "What words are you teaching him, Trinity?" Princess was already beside her before Dennis can even blink eager to hear the tea spill from Trinity.
"It's not my fault, he already has a potty mouth before he met me." Trinity announced which earned a chuckle from Perlah.
"Hey, I do not!" Dennis huffed as he tried to focus on his charting.
The three of them chatted some more in Tagalog which he barely understands aside from some phrases and words that he had heard previously from Trinity. A gasp can be heard from Princess as the three of them started giggling while staring at Dennis.
"What is it?"
"Nothing, nice crop top by the way, Dening." Great, another nickname earned from Perlah. Dennis shoots Trinity a look which she only shrugged at. Luckily the two nurses finally clocked out after saying their goodbyes to them and the night shift crew.
"What did you tell them?" Dennis hissed.
"Nothing much just club stories." Trinity answered like it was normal and not an embarrassing story to tell people.
"Gago ka ba?" (Are you an idiot?)
Trinity laughed so hard that it got some confused looks from Shen and Ellis.
"Oh Den den, maybe I am a bad influence on you."
