Bodyguard | | Lance & Alison

Another job, only this one had far better pay in his opinion and really he wouldn’t be getting beaten up every night doing it either. Not that he spent a lot of the time actually getting beaten up, normally he was the one doing the beating with the exception of a few good fights where Lance actually lost. Either way the gig was a good one and he’d be lying if he didn’t say he was excited. Especially as he entered the main lobby of the house where he was to meet his potential employer. It was gorgeous and really he’d never seen anything like it in his life, the place was huge with detailed decor the Irishman almost felt out of place– no, he was out of place. Where he grew up was the slums, the only thing the O’Brennon’s had on their walls was ripped and stained wall paper and a crooked picture of some beach where his mother had grown up. Granted the glass in the picture frame was broken from the many times his father had lost his temper and thrown one of the other three people in the house into the walls, which aided in the shitty condition of the house. So to see this place was like walking into a god damn castle being a pauper. Which in many ways was very true for Lance.
His face was still a little bruised from a previous fight but other than that he was unharmed, perhaps it was a good thing to have some light bruising, it showed h took initiative and wasn’t afraid of a little pain. But as Lance stood in this immensely beautiful home in a very expensive rented tux he was questioning if he even belonged in this place. Then a man came from the stairs and greeted him, to which Lance smiled and offered his hand. A few moments later they were talking and ‘taking a tour’– it seemed like Lance’s friend had really talked him up about being a professional and how good his skills were. Which of course Lance was very professional and had wonderful skills, but he was also modest in his talents, even if knocking someone out in order to guard someone was an exceptional talent in this sort of deal.
“I ‘ave worked as a bodyguard before, yes— it only lasted a few months as I was simply temporary, but I did learn a lot in t’ose months.” Lance spoke as they entered what looked to be a study but very well could have been a fucking library, Lance wasn’t sure which it was. His blue eyes scanned the room and spotted the shimmer of blonde hair, this must have been the young woman he was going to be the body guard of. Sure enough the man who was interviewing him turned and motioned to the young woman, saying that she was to be Lance’s prospective protectee. Straightening his posture Lance flashed a smile but the person he saw was not at all who he expected, still, he kept his composure and simply smiled some more, nodding and offering his hand to the young woman he had met at the bar after one of his fights. This was proving to be one of the most interesting job interviews, especially since the man referenced to her as his fiance.
Alison awoke early from the hot dream she had at night. The night of escape a couple of weeks ago still very present in each of her senses. It wasn’t the first time since she’d gone to that place that she dreamed about it - but this time it felt real. Too real. She could feel her heart beating faster as she pushed the sheets away, trying to catch a breath and collect her senses. Ali knew it was just that - a one night thing. Besides she would probably never see this gorgeous fighter again. Sighing, she straightened up, a soft smile curling around her lips as she slowly got up to take a well needed shower. God these dreams. Her body relaxed under the warm water and she almost drifted back to the forbidden thoughts that wouldn’t stop invading her time and time again ever since she entered this little bar downtown. Once she got out of the shower, she prepared herself for yet another awful day, full of pretending, lies and even more pretending. She put on one of her short business dresses and since she didn´t expect anything special from this day, it seemed more than enough to keep her make up mainstream. It was hard to overhear a certain male voice - the voice she hated guts - he was probably talking to some business partner for all she cared.
Just when she was about to open the door, the phone on her desk rang, on the other end of the line, said someone who was obviously yoo lazy to get upstairs and call her. “What do you want?” She spat into the phone, getting nothing but a brief, I want to present you to someone and expect you to be down here in two. Ali rolled her eyes and hung up before she made her way downstairs, Catching no more than two words with an accent she had heard before - and couldn’t forget. Her heart beat increased as her fingers brushed over the door knob. No, it couldn’t be, she reminded herself as she slowly opened the door. Facing the man´s back, she tried to keep her expression steady while her heart was playing havoc with her. Charles didn’t give her the chance to speak and pointed towards Alison, gesturing for her to approach him. “Mister Wolf. I’d like to present you to my fiance, Alison Brooks. - Alison meet your new Bodyguard Mister Wolf. And I won’t accept any complaints from your part darling. Better spare us the time and get used to the new fact” As if he could read her mind, she just opened her mouth to say something but nothing came out, instead she gave the Irish man a gentle smile while offering her hand, more than willing to feel his sking against her own even if it was merely enough to satisfy her need to catch up on where they’d left things off the other night. “It’s a pleasure to meet you Mister Wolf”
Pretending had never been harder to her than now. Her eyes discretly scanned the handsome man, finding out about the remaining bruises before their eyes finally met as Charles went on. “When can you start Mister Wolf? “ Ali couldn’t believe this was actually happening. Seconds ago she thought she’d never see him again and now she’s get to see him on a daily base. Turning to his fiance, Charles ordered “Why don’t you get us a drink Darling? I’ll prepare the contract” It took everything in her to not say a word, hoping her little secret would be save with her new bodyguard. “Sure” She mumbled and went for the drinks, unaware of the ongoing conversation in which her fiance didn’t leave any doubt his main concern wasn´t to keep her safe. “You as a man yourself, Mr. Wolf, will understand I’m a busy man and travel a lot. My fiance is a little wildfire and hope you can handle her. I want to be aware of every move she makes, ever text she sends. Anything. “ The last word was all the blond could gather as she brought the two glasses of the best irish whiskey to the males, handing one to each. “I hope you like it.” She whispered as she stepped past the man of her dreams. Charles took a sip and continued bossing her around “Alright, I need to go. Sign the contract whenever you’re ready. Alison, would you show Mr Wolf his room? Oh and Mr. Wolf, you’re invited for dinner, I think you should meet the rest of the family if you start working for us.” And with that the door shut close behind his back and a relieved “finally” escaped the young woman’s lips.
