did some proteins and enzymes questions on the pmt website from the biological molecules chapter

having done the singapore versions of o levels and a levels, the uk bio syllabus is surprisingly manageable (i didn't want to study the sg h2 bio syllabus so i took phy instead)

fingers crossed that i continue having fun studying bio and finish the bio syllabus before i start med :D

The things no one tells you about being an only child-

You're so soul-crushingly lonely all the time. You feel like you're missing out on some fundamental part of being human, yet everyone tells you you're lucky. When your parents fight you're either dragged into it or completely isolated- there's no one to relate to. You're told your "mature" but it's just because you spend all your time around adults. You love your friends like family but you know they'll always love their siblings more than they love you. You have so much pressure on you all the time- you're expected to be the golden child. Yet you're also treated like a baby. The attention is on you 24/7 but you're still lonely. You're convinced your parents are always right and your points are invalid because there's no one to take your side. If your parents want more kids but can't have them, you feel like you're not enough. Your parents are your only family, your everything, but they need time without you. You're the third wheel in their relationship. You're paralyzed by the fear that someday they'll die and your entire family will be gone. You feel unable to make close relationships with people your age.

You feel all of this and more, but sure, you're lucky because you don't share a room.

yepps got rejected from local med sch in sg by NTU

while it has been a bummer, im glad im a position to have another overseas med offer

but its in scotland which is gg to be sooooo far away from home

it's gg to be scary but im happy im gg to be studying my dream course sooo...mixed feelings?

im gna miss my friends and fam so much :(

ive be leaving sg in end August as there is orientation in mid sep so that i can go settle in the area for a bit

i don't really play lore-y video games but LET ME SPILL MY CONSPIRACY THEORY ON SUBWAY SURFERS YUMMMM!

so, it's been so many years since the game launched but the police officer has never caught jake and imprisoned him for theft. and even though the police officer does sometimes catch jake, if you look very carefully, if jake only slightly bumps into something but recovers quickly, the police officer will be on his arse but he still never grabs jake by his collar. and the times he does catch jake, jake always manages to escape.

so my theory is that jake is the police officer's troubled son who's acting out because he hates his father because he feels like his father doesn't care about him but also secretly craves his dad's approval because every little kid wants his dad. that's why jake causes chaos and mayhem to get his dad to come after him, but his father never understands. jake doesn't steal gold coins because he wants to rob people, he steals because he was robbed of his CHILDHOOD. he was robbed of a loving, present FATHER.

his father can't keep jake in jail for too long, because if he records jake's theft as offences, it'd go onto his records and he does'nt want jake's future to be damaged. so they've done this weird song and dance all these years.

also the police officer has diabetes and his doctor told him to lose weight, but he hates exercise so jake makes the officer chase him because he doesn't want his father to die (this is my unhinged theory please i'm not normal). no matter what, jake doesn't want his father to die even if his father is a terrible father.
