hello, i am moon :) im a lesbian who primarily draws and posts about lesbians
this blog is essentially my digital diary for me (and my friends) to talk about and share whatever i like or even dislike! i braindump a lot, i love getting out whatever is on my mind, whether mundane or not. i tend to overshare (autism + desire to be understood with no questions or confusion)
i do not consider myself part of any fandom, so posts will be varied. i love video games and art :)
i am occasionally active on pokefarm q, username is moonlightcookie :)
heres some blinkies that i like/fit me :) all assets used are f2u
[below is any extra info i feel i need to state]
please don't treat this blog as your standard fandom account. this is not my "platform" (take that as you will). this blog is essentially a mega scrapbook of my personal thoughts and feelings, things i like, etc. i will not be making accommodations for anyone unless they are already my friend.
i would've loved to make this a private account but i refuse to use the nazi site. plus i just love tumblrs customization features and general layout (tags, pagination, more than 4 photos a post lol). so please respect that i will be attentive to any interactions... meaning i don't want just anyone in my private diary (this DOES NOT mean do not interact!! just that i block very freely). blocks are usually nonpersonal! i am just a fan of curating my online experience. i would love staff to implement proper private blogs as how they currently work is ass :(
ideally i would just make my own private password protected website + only share with friends, but i dont have the knowledge to do that (nor am i willing to take the time to learn lol)
since this is meant to be "private", i am very selective with who i allow to follow me. i will be soft blocking those who i dont want following me, if you are unsure whether or not you've been soft blocked, send an ask and i'll confirm. repeatedly following me after i've soft blocked multiple times will result in a hard block. however, if we were previously mutuals and you've seen that ive soft blocked you, it was bc you were inactive!
i tend to reply on a lot of posts (usually polls lol). i dont pay attention to any interactions on my replies so if yr someone who is afraid of being blocked or anything similar, don't worry yr safe :)
i have an extremely low social battery, so please do not be upset if i havent responded to an ask/message/reply. if you'd like to speak one on one in a more personal manner, you can ask for my discord :) though if we are not already friends, i will most likely say no
me not following back doesn't mean i dont like you, it just means you post too much of things i am not interested in having on my dash. we can be friends and still not be mutuals!
i do not have a dni but the following criteria will result in a hard block on sight:
❌ transphobia, misogyny, racism, homophobia, nazism/zionism, general right wing politics
❌ shipping canon minors with adults
❌ shipping family members together
❌ shipping canon lesbians with men (and gay men with women, u know the drill)
❌ defending any of the above
✖️ all teenagers (including 18 and 19) will be soft blocked. repeated following will result in a hard block
✖️ all minors are blocked on sight. nothing personal i just do not want to see or be seen by kids
given the current climate this pride especially i feel i must mention that i love my trans friends, i stand with trans people in the fight against transphobic legislation and those who would enforce it, and this blog is not a good place for you to be if you do not vibe with that
Once when I was in undergrad, someone described something as “problematic” in class and our professor was like, “That’s cool, but ‘problematic’ doesn’t really mean anything. It means that the thing you’re describing has a problem, and in and of itself that’s not bad. Art, especially, should always have problems, or else it’s not interesting and not art, either. It sounds like you’re trying to say that this is bad, but you don’t want to say ‘bad.’ Is that right?”
So from then on whenever one of us called something problematic, he would make us talk it out until we could name the “bad” thing we were hinting at. In this particular class, 7/10 it was some type of oppression, and the remainder was like, “I’m uncomfortable because this is very new/confusing/pushing boundaries that made me feel safe.”
Once we stopped calling things “problematic” and stopping at that, class got way more interesting and... we all had to say, like, “that’s racist” or “that’s misogynistic” or “ew capitalism gross” out loud, which a lot of us had never done in a classroom before. Or we had to be like, “Uhhh... I’m not sure what’s so bad?” and confront our own beliefs and that was maybe even more useful.
Anyway. Whenever I see the word problematic, I can’t help but think of this professor being like, “Good starting point, now let’s get specific.” I think when we have to commit to saying “that’s ___” it requires a lot more careful thought about the truth and impact and complexities of whatever we’re claiming. Sometimes there really is some bullshit afoot, and also sometimes it’s art, and it should be full of problems, because that’s what art is.
Drew this for Gabriii.art on insta after her black Miku post got taken down, it's nice to see so many artists supporting her and fighting against the censorship u v u
