Hiatus Info - Hey lovelies, I wasn't expecting to go on hiatus, especially being so excited to hit 9k followers—but life happens. I've had some of the most emotionally and physically draining few months of my life and it got me thinking about a lot of things. I love writing, it's one of my favorite ways to express myself—but I don't think fanfic is in my best interest anymore. It was always a way for me to connect with others who shared similar interests, incorporate my experiences, help others feel seen, (insert my OCs), but I think I've grown out of the genre and let go of the idealistic ways I've written in the past.
Reader insert fanfic always made me feel detached from myself and other experiences, trying to create and envision the things I didn't have or over-romanticizing things and becoming unhappy with myself and my own life—and it's SO hard to keep up with posting and fandom content, especially as I've gotten older. I've been writing since I was 13 and this blog specifically was created when I was 16, I'm in my early-mid 20s now and I can't keep up anymore.
And despite all the craziness of this year, my life has never been better—and I want to focus on that for now. Staying happy, living in the moment, building my life with someone, graduating college, pursuing a career I never knew was in the cards—I got really lucky, I just had to rip a few band-aids off and endure. And I've said this quite a few times, the reader insert fanfic community has been at an all time low for a while now. So many of my mutuals have left tumblr, new gen writers haven't been super community-driven, feedback has been limited, readers are quiet, and I burnout so often I think it's time I close up shop and focus on my other art.
Don't worry about me!! Or this blog!! I don't intend on deleting or permanently logging out. I'm proud of the art I've posted on this blog over its 7 year lifespan and I hope others will find joy in it for years to come—there's plenty to dig through on a rainy day! Maybe I'll look back on it, too. I'm a sucker for reminiscing. And don't hesitate to shoot me a message, whether its to check in, catch up, or just tell me about your day. gif imagines and preferences take less time than headcanons and oneshots. if requesting headcanons or oneshots, please be aware they will take a LOT more time, especially if i have serveral of those request types. depending on your request, your HC or oneshot request may be changed to a gif imagine or preference. I am no longer writing requests in order of them being received, they are written in order of inspiration.
