A visit to Mnemosyne Cabin leaves you with more questions than answers

Being in a camp full of hyperactive demigod children had its perks.

For one, it meant peak entertainment. Seeing kids duke it out over capture the flag was nothing cinema could ever give you.

Another perk? The people.

Camp Half Blood was diverse in its people and resources. And that was what you were after today. Resources.

You were hit with a dilemma. Something that’s been plaguing your mind and wouldn’t go away. You needed answers.

So when asked, you were directed to Mnemosyne Cabin, the cabin dedicated to the goddess of memory and remembrance.

Apparently, the cabin had a whole archive of information that could make an Athena kid swoon. If you wanted to find something, there was probably information there.

As you walk inside the cabin, you were hit with the smell of paper and.. ink?

The floors and walls were decorated in journals all varying in size and quality placed among shelves that looked on the verge of collapsing.

Alongside that, scattered boxes and pieces of cassette tapes littered the cabin that led to an even bigger pile next to a rather messy desk strewn with papers and notebooks.

And on that desk? Lay a slumped figure of blond and purple hair, hunched uncomfortably as they slept.. and drooled. Ew.

The cabin of Mnemosyne was beautiful — Vienna would admit that much.

She hadn’t visited the small modular cabin before, but after weeks of searching for answers about…her old chosen family. She made the very brave and tough decision to ask for help.

“Beautiful…” She murmured to herself, tracing a finger along a bookshelf before turning too…

A girl? Who was seemingly fast asleep. Great.

Vienna cleaned her throat, squinting at the sleeping figure. “Uh— Hello?”

The reaction was delayed, taking an awkward five minutes for the girl to immediately shoot up, their knees banging against the desk loudly.

“Wha–?” She glanced up as she moved to wipe away the drool on her face.

It seemed the sight of Vienna sobered her up, because she instantly sat up straight.

“Oh, hi! Did Chiron send you? If he did, can you tell him to not take away dessert privileges again? I didn’t mean to leave that jar of fingers in his office! In my defense, they were apparently cursed, which is way more cool than that screaming head from last time—“ Uhm, okay, there’s a lot to unpack there. Maybe it’s best to not ask.

“What? No.” Vienna wrinkled her nose, though she was curious about the cursed jar of fingers and screaming head. She made a note to ask about that later.

Vienna looked less like someone you should approach and more like a cursed item you should be careful not to disturb. Looks can be deceiving because above that, she seemed…curious.

“Chiron didn’t send me. I need information and i heard that maybe…” She paused, as if it was hard to get these nexts word out

“…you could help.”

“Help?” She perked up.

“Oh, yeah, sure! I can help. You say you needed info on something? Everything’s like, really messy right now? So it might take a bit to find what you need, sorry about that.“ she sent a sheepish smile.

“I’m doing a lot of reorganization here. I freaking hate the dewy decimal system, who the hell thought that was a good idea?–“

They rambled, stretching out their arms as they stood up, not paying any mind when the chair they were on tipped over into a pile of papers behind them.

Oh. The Titan Army was a touchy subject to most people at camp.

Their anger toward the gods had made sense to many demigods — the gods were neglectful, distant, and often cruel — but the Army’s actions had hurt countless people. It was difficult to separate the cause from the damage it left behind

Vienna knew Kronos was to blame.

“Whatever you have on the people who were in it.”

Vienna knew she would be in these books and journals. She had been a frightened 14 year old who had been taken in by this odd group of ragtag kids.

The titan army had taught her everything she had known about the gods.

Vienna blinked as the stack of papers toppled over. She don’t care for how this girl liked to organize , she needed answers. Now.

And her bitterness had turned to hatred awfully quick.

“Ohhh, that? Yeah sure! It’s like, the second biggest section we have here?” they hummed to themselves, oblivious to the tension.

“I think I drafted out a roster with the ranks and stuff awhile back? It might not be completely accurate though. There’s still others I don’t have the names of yet.”

She moved around the desk, gesturing Vienna to follow as they walked further into the cabin.

“Name’s Runo by the way! You can call me Ruu, or Ono too. Dunno where the Ono came from though. It’s been awhile,” they shrugged, stepping over a pile of tapes as she walked.

“Perfect.” She nodded, following after Runo as she stepped over books and papers.

“I’m Vienna, lovely to meet you Runo.” Vienna replied, taking a moment to observe the rest of the cabin.

Vienna was quiet for a moment, the same way a cat might be wheel talking its prey. “Do you…are all these books and stuff yours?”

“Mostly! I don’t remember exactly how I got all of them, but most of them are mine,” she nodded.

Towards the back of the cabin, there were a few shelf aisles, which Runo steered towards the one on the far right.

“I have more stuff in the basement. It’s mostly artifacts, but Chiron was like “It’s a safety hazard!!” Sooo it’s off limits right now ‘til I figure something out.”

She shoved a box to the side with her foot as she walked through.

“Impressive.” Vienna hummed, fidgeting with one of her rings — A silver scorpion rested on the band, seemingly ready to strike.

“Why is it a safety hazard? Cursed? like the fingers you mentioned?” Or the attic— Which was strictly off limits to campers.

Vienna had once known knew every hidden passage and every quiet corner on the Andromeda. She knew which doors were locked, which ones only looked locked, and which hallways the younger recruits avoided because they were convinced the ship was haunted.

She was quiet as she followed Runo through the shelves. Uncomfortably quiet.

Sometimes others would turn around and find Vienna standing behind them.No footsteps or warning. Just black hair, pale green eyes, and a small knife turning lazily between her fingers.

“How long have you been there?” someone would ask.

Vienna would shrug. “Long enough.”

“If…the titan army is your second biggest section, what’s the first?”

“Yeah, a lot of the stuff downstairs is ‘cursed.’ And I say it like that ‘cause not all of them cause life changing damage. A lot of them just tend to, like, freak people out?”

She scanned the shelves as they continued, running a hand over the book spines.

“As for our biggest section? It’s WWII. You’d be surprised with the amount of stuff I found under the floorboards in the older cabins. Especially the big three.”

They spilled easily, casually dropping the fact she invaded and defaced cabin floors. This girl was a little too honest. Reckless, even.

“Ah, i see.” Vienna replied, still fidgeting with her ring. Runo had…been in the big three cabins — and did through the floorboards. Cool.

“I don’t think…any of them. Would appreciate that.” She warned, the words tainted with distaste.

Something told Runo Vienna wasn’t…the biggest fan of the big three or any gods for that matter. She wants disrespectful, but she certainly didn’t like them.

Runo glanced back at her briefly, shrugging. “What they don’t know won’t hurt them.. probably.”

She stopped walking, scanning the shelves.

“What you want is here. You’re open to check anything. Uh, just a little warning though. Since this is an archive, there’s no, like, censorship? There’s a lot of pictures here, and it’s graphic. And since you’re asking about people, especially from the titan army, there’s a lot of those in this section since there’s a handful of them that I haven’t been able to identify yet.”

They reached up, pulling out a yellow hardback journal, its spine written in black marker: “Records of Deceased, BOM”

“Now where’s the roster I was talking about..”

“I was uhm. In the titan army. So…uh. It’s a long story i’m just trying to price some things together.” Normally, Vienna would except distaste, or judgment or anger, but with Runo she wasn’t sure what to expect.

No twitch in expression, no tensing of the muscles, no threats, nothing to indicate any strong opinions.

“I’m not gonna judge you for that, if that’s something you’re worried about. To be completely honest, I don’t really care,” they stated bluntly, crouching down to look through one of the boxes by their feet instead.

“I mean, I care a little? But only ‘cause you’re able to name some of these people. Other than that, I don’t really care that much.”

Camp Half Blood was diverse in its people and resources. And that was what you were after today. Resources.

So when asked, you were directed to Mnemosyne Cabin, the cabin dedicated to the goddess of memory and remembrance.

Apparently, the cabin had a whole archive of information that could make an Athena kid swoon. If you wanted to find something, there was probably information there.

As you walk inside the cabin, you were hit with the smell of paper and.. ink?

The floors and walls were decorated in journals all varying in size and quality placed among shelves that looked on the verge of collapsing.

Alongside that, scattered boxes and pieces of cassette tapes littered the cabin that led to an even bigger pile next to a rather messy desk strewn with papers and notebooks.

And on that desk? Lay a slumped figure of blond and purple hair, hunched uncomfortably as they slept.. and drooled. Ew.

Their anger toward the gods had made sense to many demigods — the gods were neglectful, distant, and often cruel — but the Army’s actions had hurt countless people. It was difficult to separate the cause from the damage it left behind

Vienna knew Kronos was to blame.

“Whatever you have on the people who were in it.”

Vienna knew she would be in these books and journals. She had been a frightened 14 year old who had been taken in by this odd group of ragtag kids.

The titan army had taught her everything she had known about the gods.

Vienna blinked as the stack of papers toppled over. She don’t care for how this girl liked to organize , she needed answers. Now.

And her bitterness had turned to hatred awfully quick.

A visit to Mnemosyne Cabin leaves you with more questions than answers

Being in a camp full of hyperactive demigod children had its perks.

For one, it meant peak entertainment. Seeing kids duke it out over capture the flag was nothing cinema could ever give you.

Another perk? The people.

Camp Half Blood was diverse in its people and resources. And that was what you were after today. Resources.

You were hit with a dilemma. Something that’s been plaguing your mind and wouldn’t go away. You needed answers.

So when asked, you were directed to Mnemosyne Cabin, the cabin dedicated to the goddess of memory and remembrance.

Apparently, the cabin had a whole archive of information that could make an Athena kid swoon. If you wanted to find something, there was probably information there.

As you walk inside the cabin, you were hit with the smell of paper and.. ink?

The floors and walls were decorated in journals all varying in size and quality placed among shelves that looked on the verge of collapsing.

Alongside that, scattered boxes and pieces of cassette tapes littered the cabin that led to an even bigger pile next to a rather messy desk strewn with papers and notebooks.

And on that desk? Lay a slumped figure of blond and purple hair, hunched uncomfortably as they slept.. and drooled. Ew.

The cabin of Mnemosyne was beautiful — Vienna would admit that much.

She hadn’t visited the small modular cabin before, but after weeks of searching for answers about…her old chosen family. She made the very brave and tough decision to ask for help.

“Beautiful…” She murmured to herself, tracing a finger along a bookshelf before turning too…

A girl? Who was seemingly fast asleep. Great.

Vienna cleaned her throat, squinting at the sleeping figure. “Uh— Hello?”

The reaction was delayed, taking an awkward five minutes for the girl to immediately shoot up, their knees banging against the desk loudly.

“Wha–?” She glanced up as she moved to wipe away the drool on her face.

It seemed the sight of Vienna sobered her up, because she instantly sat up straight.

“Oh, hi! Did Chiron send you? If he did, can you tell him to not take away dessert privileges again? I didn’t mean to leave that jar of fingers in his office! In my defense, they were apparently cursed, which is way more cool than that screaming head from last time—“ Uhm, okay, there’s a lot to unpack there. Maybe it’s best to not ask.

“What? No.” Vienna wrinkled her nose, though she was curious about the cursed jar of fingers and screaming head. She made a note to ask about that later.

Vienna looked less like someone you should approach and more like a cursed item you should be careful not to disturb. Looks can be deceiving because above that, she seemed…curious.

“Chiron didn’t send me. I need information and i heard that maybe…” She paused, as if it was hard to get these nexts word out

“…you could help.”
