Neil Young's 7th studio album (and 3rd within 12 months) was released on 10 November 1975.

After touring with David Crosby, Graham Nash, and Steven Stills in 1974 and the fraught, failed attempts to record an album (according to Crosby, Young "came into the studio and said 'Great, out of sight. I'll be back tomorrow night' and never showed up again"), Young reformed Crazy Horse (drummer Ralph Molina, bassist Billy Talbot, and guitarist Frank Sampedro who replaced Danny Whitten who had died of an overdose in 1972) and began recording in David Briggs' near Zuma Beach, CA.

Zuma was the first album credited to Neil Young and Crazy Horse since 1969's Everybody Knows This is Nowhere, it peaked at #25 in the US and sold more than 500,000 copies.
