I redesigned the Winx club girls… again! Really happy with how their casual looks turned out, and especially happy with their Winx forms!!

Happy Pride y'all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Does this count bc it's Oz + the friends of Dorothy thing...)

Did I spend my break binge watching those ALW BBC Musical Theatre Talent/Casting Search Shows? Yes. Am I ashamed? No (I was the target demographic and it was a cultural reset-)

I drew Dorothy sailing over the rainbow on a crescent moon bc in both the UK and Canada version of "Over the Rainbow", where they search for a Dorothy in ALW's production of "Wizard of Oz", the losing Dorothy that week had to strip off their shoes to surrender them to ALW (yes, really), and fly away on a crescent moon and sing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" while their dreams are crushed (and some of the contestants were SUPER upset, like REALLY crying) (YES, Really), after the remaning girls sing:

We thank you very sweetly

For doing it so neatly

You ditched her so completely (YES, REALLY 💀!)

I was able to find both versions of "Over the Rainbow" and "I'd Do Anything" (the show where they searched for a Nancy in Oliver (PS PS. You might find some superstars like Rachel Tucker, Jessie Buckley and Samantha Barks in "I'd Do Anything" (tho seeing the latter two as these like teeny tiny youngins is so trippy))) on YT.

Some episodes of the Maria and Joseph one are missing soooooo I can't comment on them XD. And I hadn't watched "Superstar" yet (the one where they search for the lead in Jesus Christ Superstar)

But I enjoyed those two shows in all its campy glory + the talent unleashed onto the world. (PS PS, is anyone interested in my notes for the show + a retrospective video?)

Writers cannot watch a movie normally. we are sitting there going "oh that's the inciting incident" and "they introduced that object too early it's obviously coming back" and "this dialogue is doing three things at once good for them" while everyone else is just. watching the movie. having a normal experience. feeling feelings without labelling them. i envy that so much and i would never give it up.

who are some actors that have never done bway anastasia that you think would be good fits for the characters?

For Anya, I have some ideas. Eva Noblezada, Julie Benko, Samantha Barks, and Rachel Zegler.

Jeremy Jordan or Jordan Fisher might make fun Dimitri portrayals.

I don’t think she can sing, but if she could, British stage and screen actress Lindsay Duncan.

For Vlad, I’d really love to see Patrick Page in that role.

He’s too old for this role, but I think it would be cool to see Broadway actor Michael Cerveris tackle Gleb’s character. I love that he’s a baritone and his acting could bring a lot. I also think he looked a little bit like Yup Brynner who played Anna’s love interest Bounine in the 50’s movie.

One thing about the musical Anastasia I like more than the animated movie is the musical goes more in depth into the background between Dimitri and Anastasia. Like in the movie, the whole time, I wanted him to tell her he was the little boy that helped her and her grandma. And we get like a whole song about it in the musical and I love it. It also goes more in depth into Vlad and Sophie, which is great. You kind of just wonder what happened between them in the movie, but again we get a whole song about it.

The cut song “when she walks in” was used in the Takarazuka production. I’m not sure if it’s the same exactly lyrics from when the song was written for the Hartford production, but it’s cool to hear.
