I really like it when Emmet teases Adder, either by in general or by being a smartass. For example:

Emmet: "pucker up, big guy"

Adder, in disbelief : "oh, not going after Corbeau today are we? He not good enough for you anymore?"

Emmet, smugly: "Are you saying the man Corbeau chose to keep him safe isn't good enough?"

Corbeau: "Answer the question Adder."

summer haircut

- corbeau goes to a barber he trusts every three weeks to maintain his haircut; adder maintains his own hair

- emmet buzzes his hair during the summer to help with dealing with the summer heat; he trades usual coat for one of a lighter material too

- emmet rarely takes off his hat, feeling as though it’s part of his outfit

When Corbeau and Philippe were younger and starting to become friends, Corbeau learned Philippe was colourblind and decided to lie to him for the memes. Corbeau's since forgotten but Philippe hasn't.

corbeau was blind as a zubat and it’s not just because of his glasses

- adder loves corbeau so much and dedicates so much to him (his time his care his loyalty his life) that it’s only logical to him that he shouldn’t burden the man with his feelings, not when it’s “obvious” they’re unrequited. so he keeps it to himself, being the friend and trusted partner corbeau desperately needs even when he wants more

- corbeau, on his part, underestimated how much self control adder has. adder has seen him at his worse and at his most vulnerable so he had thought they had an understanding to tell the other anything that needs to be said. corbeau trusts adder and adder trusts him; why wouldn’t the man confess if he had actual feelings for him? hiding such feelings for years and years despite how close they are, despite having a bond unlike anyone else: how was he suppose to know that’s something anyone could endure for so long?

- so basically:

corbeau and his gray ace/aro ass: but if adder loves me so much why wouldn’t he just confess? why keep it a secret at all??

adder: would rather die than inconvenience corbeau in any way at the expense of his own happiness

- emmet genuinely likes adder; he also sees how much corbeau cares about adder and recognizes how deep their relationship is. he wouldn’t have suggested this track if he didn’t think it would work out for the better

- adder was willing to let things stay the way they were, grateful he could stay by corbeau’s side despite it all <- adder pointing at himself: I keep all of my emotions right here and then one day I’ll die

- emmet was corbeau’s first real relationship; he’s still figuring out romantic feelings in general and how to differentiate them with others
