"Oh wow, you’re so lucky to get to work there! I’m happy for you. It really sounds like a lot’s happened. But it’s all good! Any girlfriend in your life?"
"No, there isn’t. Not that I mind too much. My life has already been so busy this semester that I can’t imagine having time to have a girlfriend." Nolan laughed softly.
"That makes sense. I haven’t gotten to spend nearly enough time with Chris between working and school and my book," she sighed. "Hopefully things will calm down soon, and I’ll have time for everything. And you will too."
"Yeah, hopefully!" He grinned and rubbed his jaw. "Have you been to any of his parties yet this year? Or are you planning to go to the next one?"
She blushed slightly. “Well, I went to his Halloween party. But other than that, no. This semester is much less busy for me so hopefully we’ll be able to spend more time. Have you?”
"Yeah, I make pretty frequent appearances." He shrugged a bit. "I can understand not making time for parties. I’m just shocked he can make time to host so many of them."
"What can I say? He's quite the social butterfly," she smiled, but it faltered slightly. "I guess I just worry that one day he'll meet some other, prettier, more interesting, more dynamic girl at a party and get a bit sick of me. Stupid, right?"
