reader catching david being violent with someone ᬬ davids other side isn’t as hidden as he thinks ᬬ
your steps slowed when you hear the whimpering. then your brow furrows when you hear the voice. david’s voice. he sounds angry? and why is there someone pleading with david not to hurt them?
you round the corner, coming to a halt at the sight in front of you. david, with his back turned to you, one fist holding a guy a few inches off of the ground by his shirt. the other first, poised in the air, angling to hit the guy.
“you know what’ll happen if you touch her again, right? do i need to remind you? is that bruise not enough, you want more?” david sounded manically. . joyous as he said the words. almost like he said them with a smile on his face that you couldn’t see.
the guy shook his head quickly, his head slightly moving to the side as david’s fist inched closer. “i don’t need your filthy hands touching my girl and tainting her. i oughta cut them off right here,” david lowered his fist to reach into his back pocket.
you quickly called out his name before he could reveal what he was reaching for. both of the boys turned to you. one, relieved to see you, the other, stumped.
david quickly let go of the boy’s shirt, taking a step back like he wasn’t just about to. . severely hurt the guy. he quickly moved his hand from his pocket, tossing an innocent smile your way. “hey, baby. i was just on my way to get you. this guy here,” david gestured to the trembling boy, “looked lost. was just trying to help him out.”
you couldn’t believe the lie that steered so far from what you just witnessed. david furrowed a brow, chest heaving from the anger he felt towards the guy and now seeing you, not sure how much you saw and how you’ll react. “why aren’t you still at school? were you walking home? why would you do that, i said i was getting you. just, just come back to my car. let’s get out of here.” david gestured his head towards where his car was parked.
you slowly shook your head, taking a step back. “i’ll walk. it’s fine.” you spun on your heels, deciding to take a different route. a route that didn’t involve david trying to stop you.
“no. .” you heard from behind you before your arm was snatched back, david pulling you toward him. “no, i’ll drive you. i don’t like you walking, it’s weird people out here. just get in the car.”
you turned your head towards david, movement behind him catching your eye. you looked over his shoulder to see the guy david was threatening, putting a phone up to his ear, nodding at you.
you swallowed, nervously looking back to david. “he’s calling the cops.” you whispered. david scrunched his face, looking back to the guy and letting go of you to rush over to him. you took that moment to run off.
david turned in time to see you fleeing the scene. he huffed out a breath, turning to the guy. he silently grabbed the phone, throwing it to the ground, and crushing it. “she just needs some time to herself. it’s fine. i’m not pressuring her. nothing is wrong.” he told the guy, or more so himself, then got into his car.
he drove to his place, actually giving you some time to yourself. after spending some time worrying his head about you, he decided to call. when you didn’t answer, he tried again. then again. were you ignoring him? david was quick to leave out again, driving to your place.
once he pulled up, he grabbed the spare key he had made from underneath the plant that sat outside of your front door. letting himself in, he wandered around looking for you.
spotting you in your room, david was methodical to sneak up behind you, grabbing you in a hold that you couldn’t escape from. you yelped out, david shushing you. “it’s just me. it’s just me. you weren’t responding to me and i got worried.” david spun you around in his arms. you peered up at him, not knowing what to say. first, he threatens a guy for touching you, which you don’t really remember, then gets into your house when the door was locked.
“i just. . i felt like walking. and you looked busy. .” you tried to explain. david smiled down at you. he shrugged. “wasn’t busy. i told you, he was lost. and i offered to drive you, you know i wasn’t busy. why’d you really walk off? why’d you ignore my calls? i told you what happened, why are you acting scared of me?” david rambled on, getting more aggressive after each sentence.
“david, i think you know why. .” you tried to slip from his arms. he was quick to tighten his grip though, pulling a confused face. “no, i don’t. i think you’re confused. you think you saw something that you didn’t. it’s fine. you know i wouldn’t hurt anyone. and i definitely wouldn’t hurt you. i just have to let people know sometimes. . that you’re off limits. i have to gently remind them, it’s nothing wrong with that.” david smiled softly again.
you nodded along, too scared to disagree or continue to try to make your point. you leaned forward into david for a hug, him immediately embracing you and sighing out at the touch of you. while he was distracted, you quickly reached into his back pocket, pulling out whatever he was reaching for earlier. when your hand returned with a switchblade in it, you simply gasped as you stared at it.
david was quick to snatch it back. “don’t touch that. you’ll hurt yourself.” he placed it back in his pocket.
with his arms free from around you, you took multiple steps back. “david, you were going to. . cut him? stab him? you threatened him with a knife.” your voice raised.
david shook his head at you, coming closer to kneel in front of you, grasping your arms and peering up at you. “i told you, i have to remind people. this guy just had to be reminded. . differently. he wasn’t listening. you understand that, right? you understand i can’t let people hurt you. you want to be with me, right? you want me to keep you safe? that’s how i do it. you can’t be mad at me for that. you can’t ignore me for that.” david sneered.
you slowly nodded as david rose to his full height. “yeah? you believe me? you done thinking those crazy thoughts?” he chuckled.
“yeah. . yeah, i’m sorry.” you whispered. what could you even say? he was proving to be a caring, protective boyfriend. why wouldn’t you appreciate him?
david smirked at you. “it’s alright, don’t apologize. just don’t ignore me again, okay?” the light smirk fell from his face. “i mean it, don’t do that to me again.”
“The bully and the shy girl yearning for each other though no one knows it, not even themselves. But the protective instincts of Kyungjun surfaces once they face death in that gymnasium.”

𓍢ִ໋🌹͙֒ Go Kyungjun x Reader ┊ Angst/comfort, fluff ┊ 0.8k words
The air in the gymnasium was thick with the metallic scent of terror. The timer on the overhead screen was hemorrhaging red numbers, a digital guillotine dropping second by second. Chaos had completely dismantled whatever remained of your classmates' sanity. People were screaming, diving under bleachers, and tearing through bags in a frantic, clawing search for the small rectangular devices that held the power of life and death.
You were on your knees, your hands shaking so violently you could barely feel the floor. Your bag was overturned, its contents scattered, a notebook, a stray pen, a pack of tissues, but the smooth glass of your phone was nowhere to be found.
"I can't find it," you whispered, the words lost in the roar of the gym. "I can't find it!"
A few feet away, Kyungjun stood like a pillar of jagged rock in the middle of a rising tide. He had his phone clenched in his fist, his knuckles white. To everyone else, he looked like he was simply watching the carnage with his usual callous indifference, his face set in a permanent scowl of disdain.
But his eyes weren't on the exit or the timer. They were pinned on you.
Every time someone lunged past you, nearly knocking you over in their own desperation, Kyungjun’s jaw would tighten. He took a predatory step forward, his shoulder slamming into a boy who got too close to your trembling form. He didn't say your name, he wouldn't give them the satisfaction of knowing you were his weakness, but his shadow fell over you like a shield.
"Check the basket, Y/n! Hurry!" someone yelled, but you were paralyzed.
You looked up, your eyes brimming with tears, and for a split second, you caught Kyungjun’s gaze. For all his bravado and the "bully" persona he wore like armor, there was a flicker of genuine, raw panic in his grey eyes. He wanted to reach out. He wanted to haul you up and scream at you to move, to fight, to survive. But he stayed back, his teeth gritted, because showing his hand now would make you a target for the others.
The gym lights flickered. A sickening, wet thud echoed from the far corner as the first student who failed to vote collapsed, the game’s "execution" beginning in real-time.
"Kyungjun, please help me," you mouthed, the plea silent and broken.
He couldn't stand it. The sight of you, the only person who had ever looked at him without immediate disgust, the person who had secretly shared her lunch with him when he was too proud to ask, falling apart was more than his fragile ego could take.
He lunged. It wasn't a gentle movement; he shoved two people aside with a snarl, his heavy boots thudding on the hardwood. He reached your side, his large hand diving into the discarded heap of your belongings.
"Stupid... move over!" he barked, his voice harsh to mask the tremor in his fingers.
He didn't find the phone in the pile. His eyes darted to the bleachers behind you, where a flash of silver caught the light. It had slipped through the gap. Without a word, he threw himself onto the floor, his massive frame squeezing into the narrow space under the lowest tier.
The timer hit ten seconds.
"Kyungjun" you sobbed, reaching for his jacket.
He ignored you, his fingers scraping against the dust and metal until he felt the cold glass. He scrambled back out, his face flushed and sweating, and practically slammed the phone into your palm.
"Vote!" he roared, his face inches from yours. "Don't just sit there and cry, Y/n, VOTE!"
Your fingers flew across the screen, hitting a name at random just as the clock hit zero. The gym went silent, save for the heavy, ragged gasps of the survivors.
Kyungjun stood up abruptly, brushing the dust off his pants as if nothing had happened. He saw the others looking, saw the suspicious glances from his "friends" who wondered why he’d bothered to help the shyest girl in class.
His mask snapped back into place instantly.
"Pathetic," he spat, though he didn't look at you. He turned his back, his shoulders tense and high. "If you lose your phone again, I'm not helping. You're a drag on the whole group."
He walked away toward the exit, his heart hammering against his ribs so hard it hurt. He wouldn't admit it, and he’d fight anyone who suggested it, but as he reached the door, he stole one last, lightning-fast glance over his shoulder to make sure you were standing up.
You watched him go, your heart aching with a love that felt like a death sentence. Everyone told you he was a monster, but you had seen the way his hands shook when he handed you your life back.

The low murmur of chatter in the Eunjang High classroom was usually easy enough to ignore, but today the noise was concentrated entirely around Baku’s desk.
You were leaning against the side of his table, trying to explain a math problem he had given up on twenty minutes ago. Baku was slouched in his chair, scratching the back of his neck and laughing at something silly you said. From across the room, it looked harmless. Friendly, even.
Except to Go Hyuntak.
Gotak sat two rows back, his arms crossed tightly over his chest, his jaw clenched so hard his teeth clicked. His sneakers scraped against the floor as he shifted uncomfortably in his seat.
"Look at them," Seo Juntae muttered from his desk, entirely oblivious to the radiation of pure irritation coming off the guy next to him. "People on the school forum are already calling them the Eunjang Duo. Honestly, they look kind of good together."
Gotak’s head snapped toward Jun-tae so fast his neck nearly popped. "What did you just say?"
Juntae blinked, startled by the sheer venom in Gotak’s voice. "I... I just said people are shipping Baku and Y/n? It's all over the board."
"They're just friends," Gotak growled, dropping his boots onto his desk with a loud bang that made half the class jump. "Baku doesn't even like her like that. And she definitely doesn't like him."
"How do you know?" Juntae pressed innocently. "They spend all their time together."
Gotak opened his mouth to shout the truth, to yell that you were his, that you had been secretly dating for three months, and that the only reason he hadn't kissed you in the middle of the hallway yet was because you begged him to keep things quiet from the Union and annoying school gossips.
Instead, he forced himself to swallow the words. He glared at the back of Baku’s head, silently wishing his best friend would magically disappear for the next ten minutes.
When the bell finally rang for lunch, the classroom emptied quickly. Baku headed toward the cafeteria first, shouting over his shoulder for you to catch up. You called back that you forgot a notebook under your desk, waiting until the room cleared out entirely.
As soon as the door slid shut, Gotak moved.
He didn't say a word. He just grabbed your wrist gently and pulled you behind the tall stack of storage lockers in the back corner of the room. Before you could even laugh, his hands were on your waist, tugging you close until there was zero space left between you.
"Gotak?" you whispered, looking up at his pouting face. "What are you doing?"
"Baku, huh?" he grumbled, his voice low and raspy. He leaned down, resting his forehead against yours, his grip on your waist tightening just a little. "Everyone thinks you two are a thing."
You couldn't help the small smile that tugged at your lips. "Are you jealous?"
"Yes, I'm jealous," he admitted without hesitation, his dark eyes searching yours. "It's driving me crazy. You're laughing at his stupid jokes, leaning on his desk, and Juntae is over there talking about forum ships."
"You know Baku is just Baku," you soft-spokenly reminded him, reaching up to run your fingers through the short hair at the nape of his neck. "And you know you're the only one I actually like."
Gotak let out a rough sigh, the tension in his shoulders finally melting away at your touch. He tilted his head, pressing a firm, needy kiss to your lips that made your head spin. He pulled back just an inch, his breath warm against your skin.
"We're telling them," he muttered against your mouth. "I don't care about the secrets anymore. Next time someone ships you with Baku, I'm kicking a trash can through the window."
You giggled, pressing another quick kiss to his cheek. "Deal. Now come on, before Baku comes back looking for us."

The afternoon sun filtered through the dusty windows of the gym, catching the stray particles of chalk floating in the air. The heavy bags hung still, the usual chaotic symphony of grunts and thudding leather replaced by a rare, quiet lull.
Wooyoung sat on the edge of the elevated ring, his long legs dangling over the side. His knuckles were still wrapped in tight white cloth, his jacket slung carelessly over his shoulders. To anyone else, he looked as intimidating as ever, shoulders broad, eyes sharp, and an aura that practically screamed at people to stay away.
But as you walked up to the ring, his rigid posture melted just a fraction.
"You're late," he muttered, though there wasn't any real bite to his voice. He reached down, grabbing a bottle of water and taking a slow sip, his eyes tracking your movements.
"I’m exactly on time, actually," you replied, stopping right in front of him. You leaned your forearms against the edge of the apron, looking up at him with a slight smile. "You just finished early."
Wooyoung let out a low, huffing sound that was the closest he usually got to a laugh. He leaned forward, setting the water bottle down next to him, which brought his face much closer to yours. Up close, the fierce look he wore in the ring was entirely gone, replaced by a quiet, tired softness meant only for you.
"Whatever," he murmured, his gaze dropping to your hands resting on the canvas.
Slowly, carefully, he reached out with one wrapped hand. His fingers were calloused and warm as he slipped them over yours, squeezing gently. For someone who spent his entire life throwing punches and fighting for dominance, his touch right now was incredibly careful, as if he was afraid of being too rough.
You flipped your hand over, lacing your fingers through his. "Rough practice?"
"Standard," Wooyoung said, though he didn't look away from your joined hands. He thumbed the back of your wrist, tracing small, mindless circles against your skin. "Just the usual. People annoying me."
"And I don't annoy you?" you teased, tilting your head.
Wooyoung finally looked up, his dark eyes meeting yours. A tiny, almost imperceptible smirk tugged at the corner of his lips. "You do. Constantly."
Before you could retort, he used his grip on your hand to tug you just a bit closer. With his other hand, he reached out and gently nudged your chin upward, his thumb resting against your jawline. The contrast of his rough, wrapped hand against your skin made a pleasant shiver run down your spine.
"But you're the only one I don't mind," he added, his voice dropping an octave, softer now.
He leaned down just enough to press his forehead against yours. You could feel the warmth radiating from him, the faint scent of the gym fading beneath the familiar, grounding presence of just him. In the quiet space between you, the rest of the world, the fights, the grudges, the constant tension of his life, seemed to completely vanish.
You smiled, closing your eyes and leaning into the touch. "Good to know, Wooyoung."
He didn't say anything else, content to just stay like that for a long moment, holding your hand tightly in the quiet gym, letting the rare sweetness of the moment last as long as it could.

2 months—of nothing but enduring bullying from the same group that for some reason wouldn’t leave you alone. for some reason.. hated you. so so much. why? no one knew. not you. not the others in the class with you and not a single soul protected you. stood up for you or even tried to defend you. not once. how could people be so cruel? how could people ignore bullying?
tripping you at lunch. slapping you across the face in the bathroom until your nose bled, until your cheeks were stained with tears. no one helped. no one cared to ask if you’re okay. no one stood in front of you and protected. absolutely no one. until.. seongje. the day you met him was the day the sun was bright and warm. the sky was blue and the wind blew—blew hard and forceful. a flower landed in front of your shoes and he, the seongje himself, bent down to grab it. you watched as he stared at it for a few minutes almost as if he was checking for something, something you weren’t aware of and then.. he handed it to you. it was simple. quick. he left without saying a word and wasn’t seen again for a few more weeks. a few more weeks of pure agony.
“you’re such a fucking moron. why’d you come here?”
you never said anything back. it would make things worse for you. instead you’d try to get up, fight back at times but.. the group had a few males who would use their strength against you. it wouldn’t stop no matter how much screaming you did. that was until you felt a shake. small. quick. your head lifted and beside you laid the same guy that had slapped you earlier. furrowing your eyebrows, you looked up slowly and in a weak manner. seongje. you sat on your knees and watched him take down each one that tournented you. he did it so easy. so effortlessly. quick. moves were smooth.
“get up.”
is all he said as he offered his hand for you to grab and weakly you took it. his strength pulled you up within seconds. you flinched when he raised his hand and his eyes softened but he continued, brushing off your uniform that had been ruined for the 20th time now.
“t-thank you..” your voice shaky. soft but weak.
he didn’t say a word. nodded and pulled out a pack of cigarettes which your eyes widened. smoking.. inside the school bathroom? he was trouble. so much trouble that pulled you in. you wanted more. needed more.
for the next few weeks, you saw him. his eyes would be on you already and it took your breath away. he’d wink or even smirk. something so small as that made you.. weak. fall to the ground and hope you’d see him again. you did. in school. after school. all around. he followed you and you didn’t mind. not at all. stopping at your favorite convenience store nearby—you bought all of the snacks that made you feel whole. like a human again since everything else made you feel like a rotten corpse. birds pecking at you and eating you for as long as they could. opening the gimbap package with your teeth and happily taking one, he sat next to you. he, who you already knew was seongje. the smell of his cologne and cigarettes was the first thing you could recognize and you turned to look at him. he was already looking at you with a small smirk across his lips.
“give me one.”
he was demanding but you gave him one anyway and he ate it with that same smirk. it didn’t drop. it didn’t even move. did he feel sorry for you? all of the rumors that surrounded him were true. you had seen it with your own eyes at some point. he was in the union which was a scary place filled with the most dangerous students from different schools. he was the main minion and it didn’t scare you. not even a little bit.
“why do you follow me? and.. help me?”
he shrugged. it caused a slight sting at your heart only because you thought maybe he would come up with something a bit more interesting than that. or maybe you desperately wanted him to like you in a way that was romantic. what you didn’t know is that, he did.
“for some reason i hate seeing you get bullied. usually i wouldn’t give a shit but you’re different.” he stopped to look at you, “i hate that you’re different. pisses me off.”
you didn’t say a word. turning away from him you took a small bite of your gimbap and looked out the window. watching couples and friend groups walk past. sadly you didn’t know the feeling of a friend group or a.. boyfriend in any sort of way. it was you and only you.
“follow me.”
and you followed like a lost puppy. like a pathetic girl who’s down bad for.. the bad boy. maybe you were? or maybe you liked his company so far. whatever it was, you wanted more. he walked close to you. close enough that you felt his warmth. smelt his scent which was comforting in a weird way. you had no idea where he was taking you but you continued to follow until you stopped in front of a large door. it looked creepy in a way but you continued to trust him. he led you inside and took a seat on the couch. you brushed off the side you were going to sit on and slowly sat down, looking around. his eyes? were on you. only you. always you.
“come here after school. those pricks won’t follow you or touch you. they know not to come here. not after the things I’ve done to them here. alright? come here.”
you nodded. wanting to be.. near him. always.
after school you’d come here to this same spot. he would be there and sometimes he had things to deal with which he told you to put his headphones on until he was finished. you stayed in the room he left open for you, listened to music, and took them off when he returned. it was like this for weeks. months. everyday it was something new and he even started keeping you there when he had meetings or.. a very intimidating but handsome guy there speaking with him. sometimes you’d listen and it didn’t sound like they were on the best of terms. maybe back then but not now.
“finished. come sit with me.”
so you did. you sat far so he had space but he was quick to close that space when his hand reached for your own and pulled you against him. you gasped and he smirked. silly girl, he thought. cute. soft. sweet.
“fuck. it’s been a long week. sick of this shit. you? make it better for some reason. it’s fucking annoying.”
compliment? maybe. his compliments were weird. rude but nice. sassy but rugged. he gave you chills in a way you’ve never felt them. his hand left your own and was on your waist in seconds. you jumped at the feeling but he squeezed your hip, wanting you to know he wasn’t going to do anything to you. just wanted to touch you. keep you close. “let me lay on your lap. come on.”
you laid back and so did he but he laid his head on your lap and shook it—wanting you to what? your hands were in the air unsure what to do and how to place them since he didn’t ask you, “hey. don’t be so scared. play with my hair. it ain’t going to hurt you. do it.” and so you did. slowly moving your hands into his soft brown locks that felt so good against your fingers. he was perfect even if his words weren’t exactly perfect.
you two were in this position for hours until the sun had completely disappeared and he sighed, lifting himself off your lap but he didn’t say a word. instead? he stared at you. you stared back and your entire body heated up. his gaze was.. mesmerizing. it almost pulled you in and wouldn’t let you out. slowly he inched closer to you.
without warning his lips were on yours. the kiss was not soft. sweet. or romantic. he was quick. messy. it was hot and something you’ve never experienced before but it was.. enjoyable. especially when his hands were on your hips pulling you into his lap. it wasn’t sexual but comfortable. he didn’t touch you in a way that scared you but it was enough tension. when he pulled back he stared at your swollen lips, thumb wiping them before caressing your cheek. he licked his lips before going in and kissing you again. deepening the kiss by tilting his head and biting down on your bottom lip—that’s when you pulled away and he chuckled, pushing his glasses back up correctly on his nose. “you’re so sweet.”
seongje brought you everywhere. he walked with you hand in hand at school. you sat with him during his boring meetings and he even downloaded games on his phone for you. it was quick. sudden but.. it felt so right. good. normal. as if it was meant to be. as if him helping you that day was the start to something so special and beautiful. seongje was your savior and you felt thankful that he had been there during the most difficult time in your life. no one messed with you again and not a single person disrespected you. not when he was around. not when he wasn’t around. it felt like the world had changed colors. from a dull grey to a bright and beautiful yellow that was filled with hope and joy.
“come on baby. follow me.”
he was still the same. the only difference now was he used pet names. held you by the waist, kept you close and kissed you often. his favorite thing to do was kiss you. glasses stayed on. he’d wrap his jacket around you and keep you close to his chest. kissing you down your neck and nipping at the skin in a teasing way. you’d let out a whine and he’d chuckle knowing that he was getting to you. that was his favorite thing ever.
tags: haechan x reader ft maeda riku. best friend's brother trope. fluff. haechan plays the bass and has jet black hair and he's so sexy.
wc: 1.8k words.
note: this was supposed to be way shorter... but idk what happened sorry. pls enjoy hihi! i love band boy haechan.
you’ve always known that riku has an older brother.
he had mentioned it on several occasions, something along the lines of — my jerk brother borrowed my jeans without telling me, or i couldn’t sleep because my prick brother kept playing his stupid bass!
what you didn’t know, is said brother is this hot.
you’re not supposed to be here. you’re supposed to be using the bathroom, but somewhere along the hallway, you lost your way so now you’re here, standing before an open door. his bedroom wall is filled with michael jackson posters — and some bands you’ve only seen from your father’s old cassettes.
sitting in the middle of the room is him. he looks a little like riku, but with rounder features and a constellation of moles decorating his honey skin. he’s sitting on the floor, strumming his bass and bopping his head to the tune, tongue poking against his cheek.
you stand there, awestruck. your hand grips on the door frame, attempting to hide yourself behind the wall but he could see you. he looks up, fingers still orchestrating the instrument, eyeing you from head to toe. you feel your skin burn.
“lost?” he speaks, voice nothing like you’ve ever heard before. you think that you’ll remember the sound forever.
“uhm… the bathroom?”
“last door on the left.”
embarrassed, you walk away, his stare at the back of your head going unnoticed.
…
“what’s your brother’s name?”
“hm? haechan.”
“maeda hae—“
“—lee. different dad.”
“lee haechan…”
the bed dips. riku looks at you, propping his elbow onto the bed, lifting himself slightly to get a proper look. his eyebrows are furrowed, eyes squinted as he scans you. he’s known you for a while now, able to read your every move.
“yn. are you into my brother?”
your face turns to look at him, just slightly. you’re grateful for the dim lights, perhaps, he wouldn’t be able to see the blush creeping up your cheeks. you shake your head.
“no way. i just saw him on my way to the bathroom and was curious.”
you pray he couldn’t see through your lie. he squints his eyes just a little more, for a moment, before resting his head back against the pillows.
“good. he’s a stupid prick.”
you don’t know that. what you know for sure, is that he’s stupidly gorgeous.
…
yn [9:05 AM]: maeda riku i am seriously going to kill you. SERIOUSLY!!!!
rikuri [9:09 AM]: please do NOT i’m sooooo sorry ok!!! yushi needed my help so i had to leave :( pancakes in the microwave love you!
you scoff, tossing the phone to the other side of the bed, sounding a hushed thud. reluctantly, you pick your towel off a chair and make your way to the bathroom, mentally cursing your best friend in your head, planning all the ways you can get back at him. you brush your teeth, back leaned against the wall. you don't notice the door's unlocked until haechan walks in, towel slung over his shoulder.
"what —"
"chill," he mutters, grabbing his toothbrush. there's no urgency in his tone, no shock, as if it's the most mundane thing ever.
haechan brushes, standing close to you, shoulders lightly brushing. he looks into the mirror, meeting your eyes and raising his eyebrow, as if telling you to resume.
and so, you do. a little slower, more flustered than normal.
...
hanging out at riku's become a routine. embedded in your being, you find yourself taking the bus to his neighbourhood after class without thought. his mother claims that you're a maeda now, as you know where the spare keys are, and a designated mug sits in the dishwasher for you.
riku on the other hand, is rarely around. he prefers spending his afternoons at yushi's leaving you alone as you watch an old romcom in his living room.
haechan walks in, wordlessly taking a seat beside you — it has become a frequent occurence. you think that you see haechan even more than riku lately, the way he'd join you for your binge watches, or when you'd bake cookies with riku. sometimes, he'd leave touches that linger —hand on your back as he passes by, or fingertip brushing against your lips as he makes you try a snack.
it's normal, yet it accelerates your heart rate without fail. you find yourself nervous every time he does as little as looking at you.
"pretty woman."
you turn to him, eyes widened. you? pretty? your hands curl around the hem of your shirt, making sense of it all.
"huh?"
haechan raises his eyebrow, tongue poking against his cheek.
"the name of the movie?"
"oh."
he chuckles, shaking his head before turning his attention back to the tv. right, of course he's talking about the damn julia roberts movie, and not you. you clasp a cushion against your face, embarrassed. he taps on your arm, touch burning through your skin.
"are you going to sungchan's party? the one on friday?"
"sungchan? oh, probably not, was not in —"
" — do you want to come with me?"
there's a minute pause as you turn your head towards him, and he's already looking at you. all the jest in his face is replaced with sincerity as he stares down at you, lip pressed against teeth.
"oh, yeah, of course."
"cool. it's a date then. we can get dinner first."
...
when riku said that his brother's a stupid prick, this must be what he means.
the servers must think you're a pathetic little thing, the way you're sitting at the far-right booth with a watered down iced tea and a melted banana split. haechan's an hour late — and with the way that he's not answering any of your calls, he's probably not coming. so, ashamedly, you grab your bag and leave for home, where you quickly flop onto your bed and weep.
no signs of haechan, at least not up until one in the morning.
yn [1:27 AM]: your brother truly is a PRICK. all caps lock btw. BOLDED. UNDERLINED. TIMES NEW ROMAN SIZE 57 AND CENTERED.
rikuri [1:28 AM]: preach mama
rikuri [1:32 AM]: also wat
you're not in the mood to explain, so you shut your phone and sleep, dried tears on your cheeks.
...
it wasn't supposed to last this long.
haechan's had one long day, like it was a karmic debt sent by God which he had to pay in the form of nakamoto yuta and his stupid lies.
"sorry dude, the gig wasn't supposed to last this long. shotaro said they had some sort of technical error," yuta shrugs, shoving his drumsticks into his bag.
haechan glares at him, a full on side-eye as he swings his bass bag over his shoulder.
"you said the gig was supposed to start at 9, but it started at 10. and then you said we were the opener — bro, we were the fucking encore!"
"miscommunication, sorry," the older answers, holding his hands up in surrender.
haechan rolls his eyes, "does anyone have a charger? my phone's fucking dead," he scans the room, grumbling "useless," under his breath when all his band members shake their head, shoving his bass bag into the back of the van.
he bids his goodbye to the members (while scowling, of course), fast-walking to his car when the universe reminds him of whatever karmic debt he had in the form of a flat tire. he bangs his head against the car roof, cussing under his breath.
"i'm taking the fucking van!"
...
you're not at the diner, and you don't seem to be at sungchan's party.
haechan trudges through the crowd, muttering apologies at every bump and spilled alcohol. instead of finding you, he bumps into riku, who’s sitting on the kitchen counter, nursing a drink.
“have you seen yn?”
riku blinks, shaking his head. confusion sits in his eyes for a while until realisation hits.
“wait. is this why she texted me saying you’re a fucking prick? what the fuck did you do to my best friend?”
haechan’s tongue pokes against his cheek, running a hand over his face. he grabs riku’s drink, downing it in one go before grabbing his brother's hand. he pulls his brother through the crowd, earning a couple whines from him.
"dude — where the fuck are we going?"
"you're helping me get yn back."
to riku's dismay, the two brothers arrive at your house — standing in your garden as haechan figures a way to get riku into your bedroom. you won't answer calls, nor will you answer the door. so, he eyes the tree looming over your bedroom window and the gears in his head click.
"riku. you're going to climb up this tree and go through her window."
"the hell? who said i'm doing all that?"
"your dearest older brother, of course."
the younger groans, but he makes no more protest as haechan gives him a boost, and so he climbs up the tree, making his way into your window and turning his head back to shoot haechan the middle finger.
you're jolt awake by the sound of riku falling to the floor with a thud. the blanket is pulled over your body as you screech.
"what the fuck?"
"it's me, it's riku!" he yells back, holding his hands up in surrender. "yn, you have to go downstairs, please."
...
someway, somehow, riku manages to convince you to go downstairs.
"in another life, please find a man better than my brother."
you scoff, opening the door to be greeted by haechan, on his knees, staring up at you. full begging posture. riku runs a hand across his face, shaking his head.
"god, i can't watch this," he mumbles, walking away to disappear into your kitchen.
haechan, on the other hand, is still on his knees, hands clasped together in a prayer. it's a rare sight — he always seems so aloof, and cheeky, poking jokes at you any chance he had, leaving remarks that border on platonic and flirty.
you liked it, though. lee haechan on his knees begging.
"i'm so, so sorry," he says, each word emphasised. "i had a whole thing going on with the band. i swear i planned my time so well, it's just — some things happened, with my car, and then my phone died —"
"haechan. get up."
"no, i really am sorry, please don't be mad —"
your cheeks flush as you look around the neighbourhood, seeing the lady that lives across you peeking through her window only amplifies the redness. you pull him up, "please, just get up, i won't be mad anymore."
"you promise?" he finally gets up, staring at you with hopeful eyes.
you sigh, bringing your hand forward to flick him on the forehead.
"don't ever mess up again."
he blinks, wanting to make a comment on how the flick didn't hurt at all, but he bites his tongue.
"so you forgive me?"
"yes."
"you're not mad at me anymore?"
"no."
"so you'll go on a date with me?"
you roll your eyes, but you can't stop the smile that creeps up your cheeks.
"geez, haechan — yes, i'll go on a date with you."
haechan grins, bringing his pinky up to seal the promise, cheekily kissing your pinky.
"is my brother still on his knees? can i come out now?"

“Is there an issue?” You raised a brow, annoyance flickering behind your eyes.
The guard scanned you over, tilting his head with skepticism.
You wore a periwinkle gown, finely altered to your frame. The dress’ hem and selves were finely embroidered with a lavender thread, complementing the amethyst crystals beaded below the bust.

The tingle of the bell rang across the empty store, announcing the departure of the final costumer. Been about time. You exhaled, hurriedly palming the register to lock it in the safe beneath the counter. Your fingers were itching with the taste of freedom, refusing to wrap around the key to finally seal the metal container shut.
Come on.
You cursed at yourself, motivation enough for your limbs as you finally managed to turn the key.
You jumped up cheering.
It took you about three minutes to shut everything down and gather your belongings before stepping into the darkening evening.
Your muscles were sore, screaming one thing only: home.
You were about to round the corner when a familiar silhouette caught your attention. He was leaning against a flickering street lamp, face hidden by the cloak of night.
Lanky, muscular and his face hidden behind a rising cloud of smoke that kept emitting from the orange gleaming butt of the cigarette he never bothered to finish.
The second you caught up to him, smiling widely, he had already turned, leading the way. With a lazy flick of his wrist he tossed the half finished cigarette aside, burying his hands in the depth of his jacket pockets.
He was always one for silence— at least with you, but you didn't believe in quiet walks. By the time you had reached a nearby park, you had already chewed Seongje's ear off with your tireless conversation, the excitement of meeting your boyfriend just always making you so bubbly.
"My least favorite part of our interactions.", you pouted when Seongje came to a halt, signaling his retreat. He turned his head, no sign of curiousity in those dark eyes, but no irritation either. "Having to part ways with you.", you added, feigning a sad expression.
Seongje just scoffed at that, nodding along before turning on his heels, stealing off to who knows where.
You turned yourself, fussiness bubbling in your stomach at the boy dressed in black and white who was already waiting for you on a bench near the river. Walking slowly to keep yourself from literally skipping towards him, you approached, face already strain from your unyielding smile.
When you had arrived, standing behind the backrest, you threw your arms in the air, bringing them down to wrap against Baekjin's sly shoulders from behind. The cold of his leather jacket barely startled you despite the chill breeze dancing around your limbs.
Baekjin barely reacted to your hug, just a hardly noticeable tug at the corner of his lips indicating the hint of a smile.
The walk in the dim streetlights was peaceful as usual, your conversation never sounding louder than the crunch of the soft gravel beneath your shoes. "How was your day?", he asked first, genuinely wanting to know if you had a pleasant day. You continued strolling around like that, listening to his detailless half answers to your vague questions until eventually you stood before your apartment complex.
As always, your heart sank a little at the sight. Already?
Saying goodbye seemed to grow more difficult day by day, you had noticed, lingering a little longer than you used to before.
As you slipped inside, hurrying up the steps, you entered the apartment without bothering to turn on the lights or shut the door, making a beeline for the nearest window to rip it open. The cold air tangled your hair at once but you didn't mind in the moment cause as usually Baekjin still stood glued to the spot, waiting for the sight of you waving him goodbye, retreating only when he knew that you had arrived safe and sound. With a rare but genuine smile he had reserved for you only, he left then, leaving you to trace his figure until it had vanished out of your sight.
The next day, something happened that rarely occurred. Someone who knew Baekjin stopped you on your way to campus, only you didn't know him— and he wasn't friendly either.
The shortcut through the alley had never caused you any trouble, no, it was the opposite even, saving you a whole seven minutes to get sooner to class. Today would mark the day you'd stop using it.
Your music was all but blaring out of your headphones, probably one octave from being labeled a disorderly conduct but you didn't care, the volume helping you to keep up your speed as you hurried along.
A sharp pain in your nose erupted, leaving it pulsing as you took a few steps backwards in surprise. Had you just walked into a pole?, you wondered, but looking up you were met with a rather human sight. A boy about your age maybe a year older stood before you, hands buried in a hideous track zip-up as he grinned down at you. Assuming he needed help— a rather ridiculous thought in retrospect — you took out an earpiece, halting your music in the matter.
"Yeah?", you asked after a minute of tense silence. A sudden laugh beside you almost made you jump in shock as you began to register that there was more than just one guy with you. You'd been lying had you denied that your heart fluttered a little at the sight of the metal pipes they had their hands wrapped around.
Reluctantly, you took another step backwards, suppressing the urge to squirm as you were met with yet another body. "What the fuck?", you exclaimed, succeeding to mark the slight tremble in your voice with a hint of irritation.
"I need you to pass something along to Baekjin.", the one right before you spat, apparently a code word for his friends to hit their pipes against the concrete floor.
The show of imitation raised something different than the assumed fear in you. Trying to assault you in the middle of the day and making you run late to uni? White hot anger flared under your skin.
Automatically, your feet carried you forwards, arm raised before your brain could calculate the possible outcomes. Your acrylics raked across his face, leaving white streaks that turned red in an instant.
The guy before you cursed something incoherently rude before grabbing your wrist, surely bursting some capillaries along your pulsing skin where he was pressing down on. You winced in pain.
You had to compliment his strength with a kick to between his legs but before you could do so much as raise your foot, a whistle tore through the racket, leaving the guys around you to hold their breaths.
The hold around your wrist faltered and as did his expression. You didn’t have to follow his gaze to assume who stood behind you.
"Tell me, instead.”, he proposed. That familiar tone in his voice making the corners of your mouth switch up. “I'll make sure it reaches Baekjin."
Three of them managed to run before Seongje had mad it their turn to get beaten up. You watched with a careless expression as Seongje dropped the last one on the concrete, his sneakers leaving an ugly print on the part of the assiliant’s face where he was pressing it on.
Your eyes flicked to your phone screen. It was too late to go to class anyways, your teacher wouldn’t let anyone in who arrived tardier than five minutes.
You cursed, pointing a look at Seongje as he started approaching you with a newly lit cigarette dangling in between his teeth.
"And what's with you?”, he jut his chin towards you. “Don't you at least know how to throw a punch?"
You scoffed.
“I clawed at his face.”
He sized you up with an irritated gaze. “Yeah, so good it almost left a scratch.”
As your day went on, you bullied the memory of the incident into the back of your head, slowly forgetting what had just occurred a few hours ago, concentration swapping between your friends’ stories, class topics and new projects you had to plan for extracurriculars.
So when you waved your friends goodbye, heading out of campus, you were dumbfounded as to why your boyfriend was awaiting you, one hand in the blazer of his own school uniform.
A nervousness spread across your stomach as you tried to tally all possible anniversaries you could’ve missed. Had something special happened on this day a year ago?
Before you could come up with anything, something shifted on your back. At the sudden lack of heaviness, your back straightened automatically.
Baekjin didn’t even acknowledge your thank you as he held your backpack in his hand, instead walking on while you trailed beside him. You didn’t put much thought behind it, enjoying the chilly quietness of the approaching evening.
When he finally decided to break the silence, you were on the entrance to the shortcut that had recently fallen out of your affection.
He came to a sudden halt, stalling your walk as well hence you had to stop abruptly to not walk into him. He carefully tangled his fingers around your wrist, bringing it up slowly.
You couldn’t bring yourself to look at the display of fingerprints etched into your skin.
"What happened here?", he asked, something different than curiosity painting his voice. Whatever lie you’d press through your teeth would be hard to swallow. You didn’t realise because your longsleeved shirt was covering half your palms but as Baekjin pushed the material up your arm, he revealed a collection of colorful red bruises. They’d turn violent soon.
You just shrugged, half-heartedly, eager to change the topic quickly. "I just fell.", you lied, aware of the way his jaw clenched at your deception. With that you turned, aiming to change the direction of your walk, but Baekjin stood rooted, already heading for the other way.
You called out his name.
“Let’s walk a different path, okay?”
Baekjin huffed but he stopped. “For what reason?”
“None.”, you lied. “It’s just shady is all. Makes my skin crawl. I usually don’t take it.”
“Never?” His head snapped to yours and you squirmed under his pointy gaze.
“I know what happened this morning.”
Seongje.
You exhaled. He wouldn’t blame himself, would he?
“I know. I know I was lucky Seongje was around randomly-“, you started but your boyfriend cut you off.
“It wasn’t random.” Your interest perked at that and you looked at him.
"You're tracking my phone?" The conclusion had just popped into your head and you craved that he’d deny the accusation but it seemed he had no intention of doing that.
“I told you to be careful so often.”, he started but you had to cut him off this time.
"I'm still stuck on the fact that you're tracking my phone. How do I undo it?" You palmed you phone, unlocking it to look for any unusual sight but you came up empty handed.
"You can't undo it.”, he let you know. “And you won't have to worry about it either once we go our separate ways."
Your head threatened to explode with the new flood of information, creating a pressure that simulated a rubber band pressing at your skull.
"I can't even take you to the place I spent half of my day at, because I'm worried that you'll get hurt.”, he continued.
You noticed now what was off about him. Something you couldn’t pinpoint earlier when he had picked you up. It was his voice.
There was no hint of warmth in it. No affection that only you could hear, no, he sounded cold, void.
And then came the sentence that had your blood run cold.
“You're a liability."
—-
His words left you aching. Like on impulse, you turned on your heels and rushed home, as if you could escape the conversation fast enough, his words would never meet you— and that meant he never said them, right? It made sense in your head.
As you entered your home, you made a beeline for the window, opening it fast enough that you could catch a glimpse of Baekjin lurking in his usual spot before leaving.
You hoped that it was a bad dream, a misunderstanding at large.
And since Baekjin knew you well enough to understand your thinking, he sent Seongje the next day, just to confirm.
"He can't even come here himself and tell me to my face?” Your voice was one more word away from breaking.
"Is it because I can't fight? Tell him that I'll learn. Tell him, Seongje, please I-" The hint of tears caressed your cheeks, inviting the cold air of the afternoon to come and wrap around the wet spots.
Seongje threw his head into his neck. “It’s over. Just accept it.”
——
You hadn’t seen either after that. No one picked you up after your shift, your evenings had filled with a calm that didn’t match the easiness there had been before. It was frustrating.
A few days ago you had all you could ask for and now you’d found yourself in a stretch of time that left you too numb to even respond to your friends’ text half of the time.
The first few days, you were shattered but you tried to undo it, only to find that he had deleted all traces of contact. His number was gone, call history swiped. You never bothered to remember it by heart and there was no piece of paper with his digits scribbled on top either.
It took a few weeks of spilled tears and comforting sleepovers at your friends’ places but eventually, you got used to the idea of never hearing from him again. You told yourself that there was no future awaiting you if he was involved.
Slowly, you got your spark back, started to smile back at costumers, even raised your hands a few times in class again, startling the teachers that had almost forgotten your name with the vague occurrence.
Just as your life had clawed itself out of stop-motion, you were bound to fall back.
The footsteps that sounded behind you had your hands ache from the grip on your keys. The metal dug into your palm but you were too focused on listening to the approaching guys behind you to pay heed to your broken skin.
Your pluse spiked as one of them crept into your peripheral, halting you in your steps as he came to stop right in front of you.
“Are you kidding me?”, you simply cussed out, the sheer ridiculousness of them not having learnt their lessons making irritation creep up your spine.
“What do you want now?”, you pressed through gritted teeth, a loose boulder two steps before you whispering its invitation for you to grab it and test its heaviness.
“I was hoping for a conversation without your guard dog around.”, he explained to you, matter-of-factly.
It was too late for this. You opened your mouth to tell him that you weren’t together anymore, but closed it instead. İt wasn’t your best idea to just out yourself as alone when you had a bunch of guys corner you in a dark alley.
To add to the horror, you realised while looking around that the area you had stumbled into didn’t seem familiar to you. in your haze You had walked into the opposite direction.
“This time I don’t need you to talk to him.”
Whatever innuendo he had laced with his assertion you didn’t need to find out.
Quickly, you side stepped him and lunged for the brick. Like you had presumed, it was heavy in your hand, fine grains of stone trickling down your palm.
You barely let him turn to you before you tightened your grip and brought the massive boulder down to his temple.
Easier said than done. He didn’t go limp like they do in the movies, instead he cried out, held one hand to the pulsing spot and grabbed your hair. Your scalp screamed in white hot pain, so you kicked against his shin to loosen his grip. It worked and he stumbled backwards.
The fight broke loose. You earned a blow or two but managed to give them back something similar in taste. By the time you were done, your breath was laggy and your skin was pulsing. You touched more skin than you had anticipated, wincing whenever someone grabbed you.
With your last hit, the brick sliced into two pieces, falling out of your hold and colliding into chunky crumbs as it hit the floor.
You could barely catch your breath before one of them lunged at you again.
With your limbs worn out, you simply turned your head to lessen the impact, anticipating the next blow. It never came.
You looked up to find the guy frozen before you, his eyes locked onto something while his friends exchanged a frantic look.
Who-
You recognised the voice first.
“What suddenly you can fight?”, Seongje asked, a trademark cockiness coating his words.
The guys before you scurried together before quickly limping away.
Seongje’s gaze fell on you.
You turned on your heels, quickening your steps.
“You don’t miss me?”, he teased.
“I hoped I’d never have to see you again.”, you retorted, irritation hot under your skin as you listened to his footsteps follow you.
“Well, unlucky for you,”, he started, struggling to talk around what you assumed what a cigarette. “You kind of stepped into our operation area.”
You stopped in your tracks, earning a sound of surprise from Seongje as he sidestepped you to avoid a clash.
Before you stood a garage and next to decorated with a huge neon sign, a bowling place. This is where he works?
Before your next thoughts could start to form, you saw him. Your stomach dropped at the sight.
His gaze was already fixed on you, hands in his jacket pockets as he took in your appearance.
You stood rooted, unable to move as he closed the distance to you in a few strides.
You shivered visibly, unsure whether it was weather related. You did forget your windbreaker at work. Baekjin’s eyebrow quivered slightly as he noticed, too.
“You look cold.”, he stated, moving to slide off his jacket but you took a step back. “Don’t.”
He huffed but nodded, moving his hand towards your face instead.
As you turned your head to the side to avoid his touch, your tongue darted towards a wet spot along the inner corner of your mouth. An unpleasant copper taste spread on your tongue. Did he want to wipe the blood off your lips?
Annoyed, you huffed. “You don’t get to do that.”
“Do what?”
“Act like you care about me.” You didn’t dare to raise your voice, fearing that it might trigger you to sob. And once you’ve started, it wouldn’t stop until you were asleep from exhaustion.
“My grades are better because my new tutor is smart and I don’t have to blush whenever he looks at me. And I get home way sooner because no one’s taking me on dates when it’s too dark to see. And I finally have time for my friends again.” You knew it was unfair to put the blame on him, but you had to admit, it made everything so easy. Memories flooded your mind, pictures of non-answered phone calls because he was busy drowned out the memories of him apologising through actions and keeping up promises to make up.
Late nights of him draping his jacket over your shoulders because you shivered in your sleep and him not paying attention to the cinema screen because he was busy admiring your reactions to the scenes all slipped your mind.
You let yourself forget the good times. Easy as that.
"I'm not your liability anymore. You chose to stay away, so stay away."
You turned, ignoring the sting in your heart as you tried to ignore the tiny twitch in his expression. You didn’t dare to acknowledge what it was.
hii ! would it be okay if you could do a thing where reader gets an injury ( like a broken leg ) and how the whc boys would take care of them, hopefully you understand what I meant ! And take your time you don't need to rush ! thank you ssooss muchh !!🫶🏻
WHC boys taking care of you with a broken leg 🥺💜
S I E U N
Sieun didn’t say much when he first saw you on crutches with your leg in a cast. He just stared for a long second, then quietly asked, “How long until it heals?”
He became your silent shadow. Every day after school he showed up at your house with notes from class, neatly organized. He’d sit on the edge of your bed, carefully helping you prop your leg up on pillows. When your leg ached, he didn’t panic, he just set a timer and gave you medicine exactly when you needed it.
One evening you got frustrated trying to reach something on the table. Sieun stood up without a word, grabbed it, then gently sat beside you. He didn’t like seeing you struggle.
“You don’t have to do everything for me,” you mumbled, a little embarrassed.
“I want to,” he said simply. His voice was quiet but firm. “Let me.”
At night he stayed longer than he was used to. He’d read while you rested your head on his shoulder, one hand lightly resting on your good knee like he was making sure you were good. When you winced in your sleep from pain, he’d wake up and adjust the pillows without you even asking. Calm, but always there.
S U H O
Suho was so loud in the moment he found out.
“A broken leg?! Who did this? I’m gonna—” He stopped when he saw your tired face and immediately softened. “Never mind. I got you.”
He turned into full caretaker. He showed up with snacks, your favorite drinks, and a ridiculous amount of pillows. He carried you everywhere bridal style, even when you told him you could use crutches.
“Nu-uh. My baby doesn’t touch the ground,” he grinned, but his eyes were gentle.
He skipped some of his usual jobs just to stay with you. When your leg hurt too much, he’d sit behind you on the bed, letting you lean back on his chest while he played with your hair. He told you dumb jokes to distract you from the pain and got genuinely upset when you tried to do too much by yourself.
One night you started crying because you felt useless. Suho wiped your tears with his thumbs and kissed your forehead.
“You’re not useless. You’re resting so you can get better. And I’m here, okay? I like taking care of you.”
He fell asleep holding your hand, scared to accidentally bump your leg.
B E O M S E O K
Beomseok panicked at first. “What do you mean broken?! Does it hurt a lot? Should I carry you? Wait... I don’t know how to carry someone with a cast!”
But once he calmed down, he became the most attentive caretaker ever.
He decorated your cast with silly drawings and little hearts. He brought you snacks every single day, sometimes too many. “I got the spicy ones you like! And chocolate! And those sour candies!”
When you needed to move, he was right there, supporting your weight even when you told him you could manage. He got sulky when you tried doing things alone.
“Yah, why won’t you let me help? I want to take care of you”.
At night he got clingy. He’d lie next to you, very carefully, and wrap his arms around your waist, face buried in your neck. If you made any sound of discomfort, he’d wake up instantly.
“Does it hurt? Want me to get ice? Medicine? A hug?”
He was loud, sometimes clumsy, but his love was so obvious it made your chest warm. He even argued with your mom about who got to bring you breakfast.
W O O Y O U N G
Wooyoung tried to act cool when he first saw the cast, but you caught the worry in his eyes.
“Tch, how did you manage to do this yourself?” he teased, but he was already kneeling down to check if the cast was comfortable.
He became surprisingly gentle. He’d show up after his trainings with little gifts, a new plushie, your favorite drink, pain relief patches. He was really good at distracting you from the pain with stories and teasing.
When you had to use crutches, he walked right beside you, one hand hovering behind your back just in case.
“I’m not gonna let you fall, stupid.”
One afternoon you tried to stand up by yourself and almost lost balance. Wooyoung caught you instantly, pulling you against his chest.
“Don’t scare me like that,” he muttered, voice softer than usual. He hugged you for a long time before helping you back to bed.
At night he got shy about it, but he stayed. He’d lie beside you, playing games on his phone with the volume low, occasionally reaching over to rub your good leg when it cramped. When you thanked him, he’d look away, ears red.
“…Of course I’m here. Who else is gonna take care of you?”
S E O N G J E
Seongje tried to act like it wasn’t a big deal at first. He showed up at your house with his usual cocky smirk, but the moment he saw you struggling on crutches, his face changed.
“You look pathetic,” he said, but his voice was softer than normal. He immediately took the crutches from you and carried you to the couch like you weighed nothing.
From then on, he became weirdly gentle. He hated seeing you in pain. When your leg throbbed, he’d sit next to you quietly and massage around the cast with surprisingly careful hands. He brought you ice packs without you asking and even skipped hanging out with his usual group just to stay with you.
One night you couldn’t sleep because of the pain. Seongje laid beside you, one arm carefully draped over your waist.
“Stop moving so much,” he grumbled, but he pulled you closer against his chest. “I’m right here. Just sleep.”
He stayed the whole night, waking up every time you shifted. Protective and lowkey worried, even if he covered it with light teasing.
B A E K J I N
The second Baekjin found out about your broken leg. He showed up with a whole bag of supplies, medicine, comfortable pillows, snacks, and even a small bell so you could call him if he was in another room.
“You’re not lifting a finger until this heals,” he said firmly, but his eyes were warm.
He was extremely organized. He made a schedule for your medicine, helped you shower, with a plastic cover on the cast, and carried you everywhere. When you felt bad about depending on him so much, he cupped your face gently.
“I take care of what’s mine. And you’re mine. Got it?”
At night he was surprisingly soft. He’d lie next to you, stroking your hair until you fell asleep. If the pain woke you up, he was instantly awake, getting you water and painkillers, then pulling you against him while whispering that you’d be okay.

Baku was the most energetic about it, but also a gentlest giant.
When he first saw your cast, he looked genuinely shocked. “Who the hell did this? I’ll—” He stopped when you laughed and told him it was just an accident.
Then he became your personal servant.
He carried you on his back everywhere, even when you said you could use crutches. “My back is stronger than those stupid sticks,” he’d say with a grin.
He bought way too many snacks and drinks. He drew silly cartoons all over your cast, including a little version of himself cheering you on. When your leg hurt, he’d sit you between his legs on the bed and rub your shoulders or good leg to distract you from the pain.
At night he was like a big teddy bear. He’d wrap his big arms around you carefully, making sure your cast was properly propped up on pillows.
He’d hum random songs quietly until you fell asleep on his chest.
“You’re safe with me. Always.”

Gotak got quiet when he saw you with the cast. He didn’t say much at first, just helped you sit down and stared at your leg for a while.
After that, he became super attentive in his own quiet way. He wasn’t loud or dramatic, but he was always there. He learned how to help you move properly, adjusted your pillows perfectly, and brought you food from your favorite places.
He got shy when you thanked him too much. “It’s nothing,” he’d mutter, ears turning red.
One evening you started crying because you felt useless and frustrated. Gotak panicked a little, then sat beside you and pulled you into his chest, stroking your back awkwardly but sweetly.
“Don’t cry… I’ll stay until you’re better. As long as it takes.”
He slept on the floor next to your bed the first few nights just so he could be close if you needed anything. When you finally convinced him to sleep on the bed, he held your hand the whole night.

Juntae tried to play it cool and tough when he first saw your broken leg, but his worried eyes gave him away.
“Tch, how do you even manage to break your leg?” he teased, but he was already helping you sit down and fluffing the pillows behind your back.
He was surprisingly good at taking care of you. He remembered what time you needed medicine, helped you with homework so you wouldn’t fall behind, and even learned how to cook simple meals for you, though some attempts were… questionable.
When you were in pain, he got fidgety and anxious. He’d sit close to you, letting you squeeze his hand as hard as you wanted. He’d distract you by telling you random stories or playing games on his phone with you.
At night he got clingy. He’d lie beside you, burying his face in your neck.
“Don’t scare me like this again,” he whispered. “I hate seeing you hurt.”
He stayed every single night, making sure your leg was elevated and that you were comfortable.
