"Silk is a noun. All nouns are very lonely. They’re like crystals, each enclosing its own little piece of our knowledge about the world."
—Inger Christensen, "Silk, the Universe, Language, the Heart"
You have begun reading this story, perhaps with certain expectations. But now I see you frowning. What is this, an author’s note? I thought this was the beginning of the story.
Well, you see, this IS the beginning of the story, and I am your narrator. Have patience! I promise you will get to meet someone soon. Maybe even the exact person you're looking for.
You keep staring at your screen, and one big word pops up in front of you.
MOON
Okay. You're disappointed, and you almost move to close your tab. This is not what you promised, narrator!
You wanted to read something before bed, but it seems like nothing is happening yet, and you are getting sleepy. So you put your phone down and close your eyes, hoping to find a better story in the morning.
You wake up in an unfamiliar place. For some reason, there is absolutely nothing around you. You're in a wide empty space that is white as far as your eyes can see.
You look down at the ground, and upon closer inspection, the material looks surprisingly familiar. Is this paper…? You bend down to touch it, and it is. It feels like the pages in the books you read.
Still, it is all blank, too. You start walking, hoping to figure out how to get out of here. You imagine that this must be what it feels like to get lost in a desert.
After walking for several minutes, there's still nothing. You're starting to become worried. Are you stuck in a nightmare?
But there's no way, you think. You sigh and keep on walking.
There is something now. You almost missed it, but when you looked down, tired, you realized that the paper on the ground is no longer blank. The fact that something exists in this void reassures you.
The letters are quite large, so it takes you a moment to figure out what they say. And when that happens, you realize why you're here.
MOON
It was that story from last night, that strange story where the narrator tricked you.
What am I going to do? you think in despair. Starting that story somehow trapped me here. You sit down by the letters and close your eyes, thinking that falling asleep again might take you back to your world.
Yet the narrator’s words from before pop into your brain, almost like someone is typing them for you.
Have patience! I promise you will get to meet someone soon. Maybe even the exact person you're looking for.
The three sentences resonate in your mind. Should you trust them? You feel like you have no choice but to do so, as there is nothing in this space to hold onto but thoughts.
(Actually, you have always had a choice, and still do in this moment. But I'll let you figure that out yourself.)
“Okay, I'll believe it,” you say to yourself under your breath.
Nothing happens. You want to give up, but then you notice that a person has appeared in the distance, and is walking towards you. Relieved, you stand up to meet him.
He's wearing a gray hoodie and loose black pants, and a matching black baseball cap on his head. He’s elegant in a casual way, which you like. Folding his hands together, he looks at you, his soft, dark eyes peering out from under the brim of his cap.
“Hi,” you say. He doesn't say anything, just continues regarding you quietly, so you continue. “Do you know how to get out of here?”
Now he gives you a strange look.
“I thought you wanted to meet me?”
You blink at him. “I did?”
After you say that, you realize that he must be the person the narrator was talking about.
“I'm Jisung,” he says. “It's nice to meet a human after all this time.” He takes his cap off and runs a hand through his hair before putting it on his head again. Oh, he's so pretty. But then you realize what he just said.
What is actually going on? This is all making no sense. “But…how are you not a human? What are you?” It seems that you are no closer to figuring out how to leave this endless place. And Jisung didn't answer when you asked him.
“I'm not a human. I'm just a word,” he replies, pointing at the MOON written on the ground. “I'm Moon.”
You look at his face. Is he claiming to be the personification of the moon in the sky? Yeah, you can see how he could be the human version of the moon. He has that kind of calm aura around him.
But he shakes his head when you ask him. “I'm a word. ‘Moon’ is a word, and I'm Moon. All words have spirits, because they're alive. We're always interacting with each other. I'm a noun though, so I was lonely in the very beginning.” Jisung sits down now and sets his hat down beside him, and you follow him.
“So you're a word spirit?”
Jisung side-eyes you because of the way you phrased it, but he nods.
“I like the moon a lot,” you tell him. “Maybe that's why I'm meeting you now. I think you kind of look like the moon, actually.”
He blushes, and you think he's really cute, this boy who isn't actually a boy, this boy who is apparently just a word that appears in writing. It is strange to hear all of this, but your heart already likes him.
The narrator makes a large eraser fall down from the white sky. Okay. You're starting to see a pattern. It seems like you should trust the narrator to move you forward here.
So you look at the only other entities around you: Jisung and the MOON written on the paper ground. Well, what do people do with erasers? You start erasing the MOON, starting at the bottom of the M.
Jisung panics and grabs your arm, trying to stop you from doing any more damage. “Stop, stop! You're not supposed to do that!”
You look at him, shocked. “Why not?”
“If you erase that, then my spirit will disappear,” he explains. “And if I disappear, you might have a hard time finding me again. You'll have to start all over from the beginning.”
You're quiet for several moments, piecing together the rules of this blank page given everything that Jisung has told you so far. “So if we write a different word on the ground, a different spirit person will show up?”
Jisung nods again. “Yes. As a noun, I'm used to being alone, but there are other words that need to stick with words, like the adjectives. Here. I can show you one of my friends.”
He takes a pencil from his pocket and starts writing something to the left of the MOON. You notice that his handwriting is a bit hard to read, which is ironic for someone who's a word.
BLUE
Another person materializes. Unlike Jisung, he is wearing a green shirt, and you feel grateful to see a non-neutral color again. The page you're sitting on is only black and white (and Jisung’s moon-like gray).
“Yo, Jisung! It's been a while! You needed me for something?” He looks at you with big eyes, almost like he is trying to figure out if he's met you before. You haven't, though.
“Yeah. I'm just telling Y/N about us words.” Jisung turns to you and adds, “This is Mark, my friend. We first met when the phrase ‘once in a blue moon’ was invented. We've known each other for a long time now.”
You look between Mark and Jisung's BLUE on the ground.
“But…isn't ‘Mark’ also a word?”
Mark laughs. “I get that a lot, even from the other words,” he says. “The new words always ask me about it when I meet them. I'm only Blue, but when I was new, I also got confused and parts of my spirit would show up in books with the word ‘Mark.’ I was in twice as many places as I was supposed to be, so it was kind of busy. I'm still busy, though. ‘Blue’ is a popular word.” He grins, and you decide that you like Mark, too.
“Out of all the adjectives I’ve met, he's my favorite. We still don't meet that often though, since humans don't really write ‘blue moon’ that much,” Jisung explains.
Oh. So when words are written next to each other, their respective spirits get to meet. That's why Jisung did that.
“Are you guys friends with other words?” you ask, wanting to know more about how their world works. The three of you are sitting in a circle now, and Mark raises his hand to speak.
“We are. Humans don't know this, but there are a lot more classes of words than they think. Jisung and I are both part of a class called the dreamy words. We're a group of words that poets particularly like to write.”
At this point, you look around you to see if the landscape has changed any, but it is still the same apart from the two words you've just met. You want to ask the narrator if she can do something to make this page less barren of things to describe, but you turn back to Mark and Jisung and decide to just keep focusing on the words themselves.
“You know, there's a dreamy word that I’m positive you’ve seen a lot. Since you're human, you normally can't come into our 2D dimension, but you've definitely ‘met’ him many times in writing.” Jisung passes his pencil to Mark, and he writes a third word on the paper in front of him with considerably nicer handwriting.
LOVE
A new figure appears. “Hi Y/N! I'm Jaemin.” He beams at you and waves. You wave back and take the pencil from Mark, wanting to test out your theory. You write LOVE on the floor again, and now there are two Jaemins instead of one.
Mark almost falls over himself with laughter, as Jisung tries to erase the LOVE you wrote while simultaneously attempting to keep the two Jaemins from taking the pencil in his other hand. They win, and Jisung shakes his head in resignation. “Ahh, I couldn't have won anyway.”
“Jaemin is way too strong after being written so many times over the years. The more a word is written, the stronger our spirit becomes. ‘Moon’ is popular too, but it's hard to compete with ‘Love,’” he explains to you.
“That makes sense. I still like ‘Moon’ a lot though,” you smile. At that, Jisung makes a sound and raises his hand to his mouth, but you can see him returning your smile.
For some reason, Jaemin erases himself and disappears without any warning, but from Mark and Jisung’s lack of reaction, you infer that this is typical of him. The two remaining words exchange a look, and Mark lets you know that he also needs to go.
“This was pretty fun, Y/N. I hope you won't forget about us dreamy words.” Mark puts his hand over his heart briefly as he meets your eyes.
“I don’t think I could ever forget this,” you say. “This has been kind of crazy.”
Mark raises his eyebrows. “Yeah? A good kind of crazy, I hope?”
You glance at Jisung, who’s tapping the end of his pencil on the floor. But he stops when he notices that you're looking at him, and sits up straighter at your attention.
“Yeah, I think it's a good kind of crazy.”
After Mark leaves, you remember what you wanted to ask Jisung about.
“So, do you know how I can get out of here?”
Jisung stares at you. “Do you really not know?”
“Of course I don't. That's why I'm asking you,” you answer, not understanding what you're missing.
“You can leave at any time. You just have to want it and actually do it.” He gives you a look, and you still don't understand how that's possible, but at least you now know that you won't be stuck here forever.
“You keep asking me how to leave,” Jisung adds. “Am I not the Jisung you were looking for?”
You frown, trying to remember why you had started reading that story last night. Real life all feels so far away now that you've been immersed in the world of words for this long. “Well, you're just a word, not a person. I don't think I would have been looking for a word only.”
Jisung looks disappointed, and you think that maybe you said the wrong thing. “But I'm still glad I met you! I like you. And I can sort of meet you again in a way, right? Every time I see the word ‘moon’ from now on, I'll think of you and know your spirit is in there.”
“Ah, that's true. You're right about that,” he says. “You learned fast. Thanks for reading so carefully.”
But you still don't know how to actually go back to the human world. You're this close to asking Jisung if he can straightforwardly tell you the answer instead of being cryptic about it, but as soon as you open your mouth to do so, you realize. He gave you the answer without you having to ask.
“Y/N, wait
You finally understand. There are no more words now, because you stopped reading the story.
You sit at your desk in your bedroom. Everything is just the same as it was, with the exception of a new piece of paper in front of you. The letters are unmistakable:
The same ones you saw when you were in the world of words. The same handwriting.
“Jisung? Are you there?”
Nothing, though you should have expected that. You're in the human world now.
The word is starting to look strange in the way that words do when you've seen them too many times. You never really thought about the symmetry before, two Os in the middle surrounded by two angular letters, the middle letters of the alphabet.
You take a pencil from your desk and start doodling a face, using the first O. You make sure to add the mole by the lips, and draw a little black cap for the person.
“Bye, moon boy,” you whisper.
If you had stayed just a moment longer, maybe you would have seen the little shadow that appeared on the paper where there should have been none, or noticed how the second O became the face for a doodle of a girl that looked a lot like you.
But it's okay. You know you'll see him again, whether in this story or the next.
Notes: I originally intended this to be the next story I posted after sweet on you. The idea of writing a story inspired by Inger Christensen's essay on the parts of speech struck me only a few days after I finished the former, and I was incredibly excited and inspired by it. The other reason I wanted this to be my next story was because at that time in June, I had this desire to start writing more ambitious stories, and bring something very unusual to the scene. Of course, those goals are more easily achieved by a better writer than I, but this is what I bring to you all in the meantime.
I initially planned to make the reader a word too, and focus entirely on the world that the parts of speech exist in. However, I decided to make the reader a regular human instead, because I could then make the story very meta and leverage the inherent nature of x reader stories.
Apologies for any logical inconsistencies—I tried my best, but the logic of this world got complicated quickly. Thank you so much for reading!

park jisung x female reader | genre: fluff, smut | word count: 2,452 words
You liked the daytime more than the night. That would have been a perfectly normal statement had you not been a succubus, but after all, you were always a little different from the others. After living on Earth for a while, you sometimes found yourself wishing that you could be a human instead of a demon.
The reason you were living on Earth now was because all newer succubi were required to spend a year familiarizing themselves with the environment, and gaining experience feeding on humans. You would hear the other succubi counting how many people they had met, or places they had visited, or milestones they had reached. But you preferred counting the flowers you saw outside when you went for walks, or the exclamation points that appeared in your heart when you saw Jisung, your favorite human.
He worked part-time at a bookstore near the apartment you lived in. (Your apartment building was in an area of the city with more connections to the demon world than average, and was primarily inhabited by other newer succubi “studying” on Earth.) Even before coming to Earth, you liked reading books to learn about humans and their society, so when you first noticed the bookstore on the corner of the block, you looked both ways before running across the street and opening the door, the bell jingling.
You started going there often. At first, you were careful to only make eye contact with the bookshelves, but over time you became brave enough to ask Jisung questions about where to find the books you were looking for. Renjun, another part-time employee at the bookstore, thought you were odd, but harmless. He noticed that when you spoke to Jisung, you had a hard time answering certain basic questions about yourself, and that the first time you bought a book, you seemed to not understand the cash register at all. Still, Renjun also knew that Jisung liked you, as mysterious as you were.
One time you overheard the two of them talking, and Jisung told Renjun that he would rather be approached by the person he liked than be the one to approach them. You didn't know if he was talking about you, but you hoped he was. You would have been happy to approach Jisung and ask him to spend more time with you, but you were a demon. It always came back to that.
So you just admired him from afar, or from not so far away when you visited the bookstore, and had no intentions of trying to gain any more of his attention. You did visit his dreams just once out of curiosity, as all succubi had that power, but you didn't disturb him. He was dancing in his dream, which you thought was sweet. You remembered that Jisung mentioned to you that he was an undergraduate student in dance performance, which you had luckily been able to understand in the moment since you'd read about the human education system a while ago.
You mentioned him to a few of the succubi whom you were closer with, as you couldn't keep all your feelings to yourself, but you still never did anything.
“Is he hot?” one of your friends asked you. You thought about that memory a lot.
But you pressed your lips together. “Don't ask me that!” you whined, hiding your face in the couch in her apartment. Maybe you shouldn't have mentioned Jisung to her…
“What do you mean, Y/N? We're succubi! Are you not going to feed on him?”
And that was really the core of the problem. You were sent to Earth to practice doing this, but you didn't want to, even if it meant that you were almost always hungry. You enjoyed trying human food, and it made you full sometimes, but it wasn't what you really needed.
But if a succubus fed on a human, then they would be taking the human’s energy. You felt very hesitant about doing this, since you didn't want to hurt anyone, especially not Jisung. Your succubi friends told you to not worry so much, but you still did.
So that was your succubus life, and that was why you wished you could be human instead. But when Jisung finally plucked up the courage to ask you out, you couldn't say no. He looked at you, so sweet and hopeful, that “Yes!” immediately came out of your mouth. It was what your heart really wanted, but your brain told you that you should have refused him and never went to the bookstore again.
What if he found out you were a succubus, and thought that all of your interactions with him were to manipulate him into trusting you so you could use him for food? What if he hated you?
These were all thoughts that swirled around in your head. Still, you were excited for your date. You would know what it felt like to be a human girl for a short time. You felt like you were Cinderella from that book of fairytales Jisung showed you.
Even getting ready made you feel happy. You were glad you were now getting to experience something you only read about in the stories. You had gone out a few days before, braving the city’s public transit system by yourself to buy a pretty dress for your date with Jisung. It was yellow with white accents, and the kind cashier had complimented your choice, telling you the dress had a nice vintage-inspired style.
You smiled to yourself as you put on your Mary Janes with slight heels, already giddy at the thought of Jisung. He really asked you out! He really liked you too! Your heart was happy, as long as you didn't think about how you would stop him from finding out your true nature. You would let him believe in your humanness.
Even the weather seemed to be on your side today as you walked to the cafe where you were to meet Jisung. You recalled that he said Cafe Dream was his favorite cafe in the city, so you were looking forward to it. The day was sunny, but not too much, and the breeze gently pushed you forward, as if even the wind was excited for you to see him.
You called his name as soon as you saw him, walking faster now, and he turned around, his face lighting up when he saw you in return. Jisung was holding a small bouquet of flowers, and when you got close enough to him, he shyly presented them to you.
Your mouth dropped open. “Is it for me?”
“Yeah, they’re for you,” he said. “Um, I remember you said you liked flowers a lot, so I got these for you. I hope you like them.”
You stepped closer and hugged him tight without any reservations, catching him off guard as he made sure to keep the flowers safe. “Of course I like them! You’re so sweet! They even match the color of my dress.” Being a human girl was so nice, you thought.
Ah, but were you supposed to get something for Jisung too? Was exchanging gifts a human convention during dates? But he didn’t seem like he was expecting something from you, so you concluded that it was okay. Maybe you could give him something next time.
Sitting by the window of the cafe, you talked to him happily, and although you were embarrassed by it, you asked Jisung to explain some of the menu items to you. When that happened, you thought that he would surely ask you if you were really a human or not, but he didn't seem to notice anything.
But then trouble came when you saw another succubus come in. You prayed she wouldn't notice you and Jisung, but of course she did. You weren't close with her, but she was there when you told your friends about him, so she knew too.
“You still haven't fed on him yet?” she asked curiously. “Maybe I should steal him from you after you're done with him.” She turned to Jisung and winked at him, and you watched as his face reddened.
She noticed how your face fell at her words. “I'm just joking, I promise! I know he's all yours.” And you believed her, you knew she didn't mean to upset you, but…the truth was that Jisung wasn't yours. You were essentially lying to him just so you could spend time with him. In wanting to be a human, maybe all it showed was that you truly were a demon. Deceiving Jisung to get what you want.
The succubus left, and Jisung turned to you again. You could see the innocent confusion on his face, and it already made your heart hurt, what you knew was going to happen after this. “Wait, what did she mean by that?”
So with tears in your eyes, you decided to tell him what you were, knowing you might not get to see him again after this. Cinderella’s clock at midnight.
You would say goodbye to him, never see him again, and somehow figure out how to become a proper succubus. But you would keep his flowers.
“I'm a succubus. Please don't hate me,” you said. “I just really liked you.” You stayed silent as you waited for Jisung’s response, picking at the hem of the dress that now seemed like an ill-fitting costume for you, too bright for a demon like you to wear.
But all Jisung did was furrow his eyebrows and blink at you. “Hate you? Why would I hate you?”
Your face warmed with shame as you realized that he didn’t understand, meaning that you would have to explain everything to him. “Because succubi use humans for food. And I tricked you into thinking that I’m a human like you, even though I’m not. So you would naturally think that I just wanted to use you, but I promise I didn’t. I never wanted to do that. I knew I should’ve said no when you asked me out, but I liked you too much. I’m sorry.”
At this point, your server stopped by your table again to take away your empty dishes, which gave you a reprieve from the conversation. All you could feel was the sensation of your heart beating quickly in your chest, a reminder of the very human form you took on Earth.
After the server left, Jisung said your name quietly to get your attention, and you looked at him, nerves spiking as you anticipated what he might have to say to you.
“It’s okay. I believe you.”
That was your turn to be surprised. “But why? Didn’t I lie to you all this time?”
“Not really,” he replied. “Well, you kind of did sometimes, but never about the important things. Plus, if you really only wanted to use me, you could’ve done that a long time ago. So I believe you.” Jisung smiled at you reassuringly. “I don’t see our time together any differently than before.”
“Okay. I’m really glad.” You wiped at your eyes a bit with the napkins from the cafe, grateful that there wouldn’t be any tears shed today.
By the time you and Jisung left Cafe Dream together, you had fully calmed down and were back to your normal self. Walking beside him, you held Jisung’s bouquet close to your chest as you pondered where to put the flowers when you got back to your apartment. You thought this was the end of your time with him today, which you didn’t mind at all, but then he asked you something.
“Y/N, if you’re a succubus, then does that mean you can only get energy from…?” He let the question hang in the air, but you knew what he was referring to.
You nodded. “Yeah, that’s right. I do like eating the food here on Earth, but it doesn’t give me the energy I really need. I haven’t actually fed on any humans before, though. I’m really new for a succubus.”
At those words, Jisung stopped in his tracks, and you stopped along with him. Hopefully he wasn’t too alarmed by anything you revealed?
“Are you okay? You must be so hungry. You…you can feed on me if you need to,” he offered, a little flustered at his own words but sincere.
You instinctively pressed your thighs together at that reminder. The succubus part of you had noticed him and his body, and you could tell that he would be able to give you a lot of energy. Still, you remained hesitant. “I don’t want to accidentally take too much of your energy…I might hurt you.”
“You should eat, though,” Jisung insisted. “I wouldn’t mind. I’m strong, I’ll have a lot of energy left.” He jokingly flexed his bicep, which made you laugh. Your mood now lightened, you decided to accept his offer.
That was how you became the pretty succubus in his bed with his name on your lips.
“Jisung, Jisung!” you cried, your legs around his waist like you never wanted to let him go.
Every time you kissed him, it was like an aphrodisiac to him. You tasted sweeter than anything in this world, and Jisung couldn’t get enough. You took him in your wet, juicy pussy with complete ease as he pushed into you so nicely, making you arch off the bed.
“You're really that hungry for me?” he asked with amusement, the sound of his deep voice only making you wetter around him.
“Yes! Please give me more!” you begged.
The way he penetrated you was delicious, lighting you up from your core and radiating outwards. From the moment you’d first touched him intimately like this, you could feel it. Your body wanted him so much, and your pussy milked him for all he had. When he came inside you, you sighed in bliss, body finally sated.
You whined in disappointment when he slowly pulled out of you, but much to your delight, it wasn’t long before he fed his cock between your lips, letting you lick his cum and swallow around him like he was all you ever wanted to eat. Happy and satisfied with your meal of cock and cum, you pulled away to give him an appreciative kiss on the tip.
Jisung looked dazed but content, and you already started imagining what the two of you could do next time. But what you had just experienced was more than enough to sustain you, for you to live on.
You thanked him, telling him that everything was perfect. Maybe it wasn’t so bad to be a succubus after all.
Notes: Hi everyone! I'm glad to make my comeback after over 100 days (I can't believe it's been that many days already!). During the time I was away, I didn't work on writing for a while, not because of anything bad, but simply because I wasn't in the writing mindset. I just went with that flow, which I think was really important.
Of course, writing never fully left my mind, because I knew I had ideas I wanted to finish, such as this one. I actually had a lot of this story done already in late June and early July, but I didn't return to finish it until last Sunday, which was when I realized it would be nice to post this in October given the succubus storyline. I'd seen the idea of an inexperienced succubus earlier this year, and I really liked it, since it's very much my style. I hope you like my sweeter take on a succubus x human story! I think I really interpreted the characteristics of such a story in my signature way.
I also just want to note that Cafe Dream is indeed a reference to Cafe 7 DREAM. I would have used the same name, but I felt that would be too on the nose. Thank you so much for reading, and I hope you enjoyed it!

It was always easy for you to adore Jisung. Princess Y/N and Sir Jisung were an inseparable duo since the day they met, though that was by design.
Your maids knew how you felt about him. How could you not like him? He was gentle and kind and gorgeous too. You felt happy that he was assigned to be your knight.
Under the supervision of the king and queen, the castle staff had carried out the process to choose the knight who would be your next bodyguard. There were interviews and tests of skill and character, and the chosen one was a young knight named Park Jisung. He had been knighted around one year ago, though he wasn't entirely unfamiliar to you because you remembered seeing him around the castle grounds when he was still a squire.
The first time you met him, he kneeled in front of you and bowed his head. You asked him for his name, and he said, “Sir Jisung of the Park family, your highness.”
“How old are you, Sir Jisung?” you asked.
Head still bowed, he answered, “Twenty-two as of this February, your highness.”
So he had been knighted at twenty-one, as most knights in your kingdom were. You were silent for a moment, and although he still didn’t meet your eyes, his fingers tapped against his leg, a sign of nervousness.
You didn't want him to feel nervous around you. Hoping to make him feel more at ease, you told him, “I'm Y/N. You don't have to call me ‘your highness’ if we're alone.”
At those words, Jisung immediately looked up at you in surprise, and you gave him an encouraging smile. He seemed like he wanted to protest what you had said, but when you nodded in answer to the question in his eyes, he hesitantly straightened up and returned your smile.
Ever since then, Jisung stayed by your side. He could walk so quietly that you could hardly hear his steps behind you, though perhaps in a twist of humor from the higher powers, you noticed that he himself was easily startled, more than one might expect from a knight. But you didn't mind. You thought it was cute, a quirk of the sweet knight who guarded you all day.
Luckily, your kingdom had been at peace for the majority of your short life, so Jisung’s role as your guard was more of a formality than anything else, which allowed you to see him as someone like a friend. You knew he took his position with a deep seriousness, honoring the responsibility placed upon him. But as time went on, he warmed up to your offerings of friendship, and you were grateful that he was willing to put aside his usual dedication to duty for you.
Jisung would tell you funny stories about his friends in the castle, like Chenle, Haechan, and Jaemin, the trio of apprentices to the royal cook in the kitchens. Although Haechan would come up with a new riddle for Jisung to answer at the threat of being smacked by a wooden spoon each time he waited outside the kitchen doors in hopes of extra food, he always let him in, and Chenle and Jaemin would send Jisung off with whatever they were making that day.
And then there were Mark and Jeno, two slightly older knights whom Jisung had trained with, the three of them having been squires to the same senior knight. Jisung didn't get to see them as often now, since they had risen in the ranks among the junior knights and were frequently assigned to missions at the borders of the kingdom. But Jisung spoke about them with a lot of pride in his voice, and through him you felt like you got to know Mark and Jeno, too.
And finally, there was Renjun, the gardener’s son. As young boys, Jisung and Renjun loved playing hide and seek in the royal gardens, the green as infinite as time was during childhood. Knowing that Renjun was a friend of Jisung’s, you made sure to visit the gardens more than you did before so Jisung would be able to see him.
Renjun would dote on Jisung, hugging him from behind and pinching his cheeks, and although it embarrassed him to be seen like this in front of you, the princess, you thought it was sweet to know Sir Jisung as someone's beloved younger brother.
(“I know he secretly likes it, Princess Y/N,” Renjun had declared to you one day as Jisung tried to struggle out of his grasp. You just laughed fondly at their silliness.)
In return, you would show Jisung the newly arrived items from the foreign kingdoms that your kingdom traded with. He liked everything, since Jisung was very curious about the parts of the world he hadn't seen, but his favorites were the astrolabes and the books, some of which were written in scripts indecipherable to the two of you. You spent many warm afternoons with him in the corner of the library by the window, heads together as you carefully turned gilded pages and stared in awe at the illustrations of fantastical creatures from mystical lands.
One time you were even able to convince Doyoung, the steward of the castle, to give you the key to access the highest tower so Jisung could try using one of the astrolabes. You had never seen him so animated before. You watched as he aligned the alidade with the brightest star in the sky and excitedly read out its altitude, his face held by the moonlight. As you left the tower with him that night, you had the epiphany that he was quietly beautiful in the same way as the stars. Maybe that was why he loved them like he did, a reflection of his inner self.
Jisung was always curious about the world around him, and you were curious about him. He still called you “your highness” sometimes, but you didn't mind. You were just happy to be the princess he spent his days with.
You thanked your maid as she finished the last touches to your hair. “I’m sure Jisung will like it,” she told you, and you shushed her, embarrassed.
You knew he was waiting for you outside, and you hoped that he didn’t hear her words. It was the day of the autumn equinox, and the castle was hosting a ball for the harvest celebrations. As the princess of the royal family, you would be in attendance, and so would Jisung.
But there was a prince standing outside your door. You gasped. It was Jisung, dressed in pure white for the first time since he became your knight. His ruffled white shirt, sheer at the cuffs, was tucked into matching white pants fitted around his waist. He was always gorgeous, but today he was stunning.
“You're a prince today!”
“No, no, no. I’m just a knight.” Jisung shook his head, though you could tell he liked the compliment as he tried to hold back a shy smile, looking down at the stone floor.
Without a word, you took your tiara off and placed it in his fluffy hair. Jisung froze and made a surprised sound, and you giggled. He was the cutest boy you knew. You took Jisung’s hand and led him into your room with none of his usual protests, as he was still speechless.
You showed him to your mirror. “See? Now you really are a prince.”
Jisung studied his reflection in silence. He tilted his head as he looked at himself curiously, and adjusted the tiara. After a few more moments, he pursed his lips and seemed to approve of what he saw in the mirror. You could tell that he had made up his mind about something. Then he turned to you and said,
“Okay, I believe you, Y/N. I’ll be a prince for today.”
He returned your tiara to you, holding it delicately with his long fingers. You adored him, your pretty boy prince.
The royal cook had entrusted the majority of the banquet to his apprentices, and they had truly outdone themselves this time. Doyoung ushered the three of them to the front of the hall and gave a brief speech in their honor, adjusting his eyeglasses as he read from his scroll.
As the guests applauded them, you looked into the crowd to see Jisung sitting with Renjun and two other boys, who you assumed were Jeno and Mark. You knew from Jisung that the two junior knights were scheduled to return to the castle in time for the holidays, the news brightening his days with you.
When dinner was well underway, you encountered Haechan as he walked into the hall with two steaming trays of food, his head held high. You commended him for his hard work in preparing for the banquet, and he stopped in his tracks and gave you a deep, elegant bow, his trays somehow still balanced in his hands.
You were about to return to the long table where your family sat, but he stopped you. “May I have a few words, your highness? I apologize if I am inconveniencing you.”
You nodded, and he took that as a sign to go on. “Your highness, I want to thank you for treating my friend so well. Jisung can be…a bit high-strung at times when it comes to his duties, and the night it was announced that he was to be your new guard, he told me he was afraid that he wouldn't be able to live up to your expectations. But you seem to have put him more at ease. Thank you, sincerely.”
Haechan continued. “Also, there is one last thing. This may be presumptuous, but would you be able to fulfill a wish today, your highness? It's not mine, but Jisung’s.”
“What are you talking about, Haechan?” you asked.
Haechan looked you in the eyes, and he seemed to battle with himself on how much he should say to you. At last, he responded, “I think you’ll know by the end of the night, your highness.”
He set his trays down next to the pastries baked by Jaemin, and time started moving again.
You realized what Haechan had meant only when there was just enough time for one last dance at the ball. You looked up and Jisung was already standing in front of you, as if your thoughts had somehow summoned him.
He bowed and offered his hand to you. “May I have this dance?”
Of course you would grant his wish. It was yours too.
He was a perfect dancer. You asked him how he knew this, and he told you with a laugh that it had actually been part of his training as a squire, since his knight believed that studying the finer arts was also an important part of being a person.
“Out of us three squires, I was the best dancer,” he said. “Sir Minho used to say I was his little star.” A faraway look crossed his face at the sweet memory.
Jisung was your big star, the prince who came into your life like the moon appearing in the morning sky. You leaned towards him and pressed a kiss to the corner of his jaw, the gesture so tender that it was nearly unnoticeable, but you knew Jisung would understand.
“You still are, you know.”
Pretty boy prince, your moon prince.
After all, he was always meant to be yours.
Notes: I'm back! Honestly, I thought I might end up not posting anything this month, but I'm here. I had the idea of a knight Jisung and a princess reader a little while ago, but I didn't start figuring out what I would actually write in a story like this until June 11th. After that, some more ideas came to me and I wrote a tiny bit, and I was in a very inspired mood last night, so I wrote a lot (and wrote more today, though that was more difficult). The first section of this story came to me easily.
I liked that I was able to feature all of the other Dreamies (and Doyoung) this time, and I liked that all of their positions were fitting. I think part of the reason the writing went naturally in the first half was because of this specific alternate universe. I feel that a royalty alternate universe naturally provides a somewhat developed world and multiple placements for characters, and to be more specific to this story, I also feel like this fit Jisung and I was able to very naturally include a variety of Jisung-related details.
I did wonder if maybe the last section was too short, but I couldn't figure out how to make it longer in a way I liked, so I guess it's okay.
Thank you so much for reading this! I appreciate it, and I hope you liked it!

Thank you so much for saying that!! 🥺🥺 I'm so glad you think so. I wanted it to be really sweet, and I think it came naturally. I actually teared up a few times while working on the ending, because I also thought what I was writing was so sweet. Thank you again!! 🥺
park jisung x female reader | genre: fluff, royal au | word count: 1,924 words

Part near the ending inspired by this poem
—sweet on you, fanfiction written by moraesong on tumblr, posted 2025
Well, you still have feelings for Jisung...so what happens when Jaemin asks to join the two of you?
Genre: smut (with fluff and light angst)
Content: this is set in a non-idol alternative universe. once again, reader is an escort who is pining for jisung. unprotected sex, fingering, oral sex (f. and m. receiving), spitroasting, light hair pulling, creampie, riding, mention of breeding kink. fluffy/funny in some parts
Word count: 2,550 words
Author's note: This is the last thing I intend to write for the hmm series (part 1 and part 2 here). I have indicated that Jaemin is "featuring" because the reader is still focused on Jisung throughout this story, and while she likes Jaemin, she doesn't have romantic feelings for him. Just wanted to be clear about that!
It had been Jaemin's idea. Jisung didn't really know how to mention the topic to you at first, though. When he brought it up with you, he told you that he already told Jaemin that he thought you might not want to do it.
“I don't want you to feel pressured,” Jisung had said, a serious look on his face. “But I did want to let you know that he was interested.”
Even though Jisung was the only one for you, or perhaps precisely because of that, you had ended up agreeing. You almost feel guilty for having the thought, but part of you thinks that maybe spending time with someone else will help you take your mind off Jisung. You've met Jaemin before, and he's a fun and friendly personality, albeit with the sometimes unnerving ability to read you perfectly and a dazzling amount of beauty. You have no intention to set your heart on Jaemin—wouldn’t that just be doing the same thing all over again?—but a brief respite from thoughts about Jisung would be appreciated.
Evidently, you were wrong to think that anything or anyone could take you away from Jisung, because even now that Jaemin's here looking at you, you're staring at Jisung. You can't help it. A thin silver necklace dangles from his neck today, and it suits him so well. And he's so so fine too…
Jaemin, who’s sitting next to you on his bed, nudges you, and now you try and pretend like you weren't staring, but he knows. He always knows. “Jisung, I think Y/N has something to say to you.”
Jisung turns to you, a questioning look on his face. So you blurt out, “Umm, I really like your necklace today.”
Is it too much? Do you compliment him too much? You could say more, but you don't…you’d rather be subtle. And again. You shouldn't think too hard about him…
Jisung looks down at himself and what he's wearing. He seems to understand the meaning behind your words. “Thanks,” he says.
“Well, I'm sure you two know the old saying about how if you take a picture, it'll last longer. Do you want me to take a picture of you together?” Jaemin offers.
Oh! Huh. You weren't expecting this at all. You look at Jisung, and he shrugs. So as you’re trying to hide your inner excitement, you tell Jaemin, “Sure!”
Jaemin gets up so Jisung can take his place next to you, and you move closer to Jisung until your thighs are touching. You always get lost in the sensation of being close to him. You hesitantly sneak your hand down to Jisung’s, and he holds your hand back. You look up at Jaemin's camera and smile genuinely, happy that he'd inadvertently given you two this moment together. Then you lean your head on Jisung’s shoulder, still smiling widely.
Jaemin snaps another photo. “Aww. So cute, you two. You kind of look like a couple.”
At those words, you freeze up and start to pull your hand away from Jisung. Maybe you've been too forward with your affection for him, when really you're only here to have a good time with him in the present. The thought of that hurts your chest.
But to your surprise, Jisung holds onto your hand so you can't take it away from his. When you look at him, he sweetly assures you, “I don't mind, Y/N.”
If he keeps on being too sweet like this today, you're never going to be able to let him go.
When you look at Jaemin again, he's already taken his shirt off. Seeing his muscled arms and chest, you naturally find yourself saying to him, “Oh, you must work out a lot.”
Jaemin gives you a big grin. “Flirting with me in front of Jisung already?”
“I—I wasn't!” It makes your face burn. Why is he acting like you and Jisung are an item? You secretly wish that too, but you wouldn't dare allude to such things out loud.
“I know, Y/N. You're sweet. But, you wanna feel? It'll be our little moment.” Jaemin winks at you. You think you see Jisung roll his eyes a little bit, but he doesn't say anything.
So you approach Jaemin and carefully put your hands on him, admiring his strength and toned body. He's warm, and his muscles flex under your touch.
“You've got me excited, angel,” Jaemin says, and that really makes you blush. “You wanna touch Jisung too?”
You turn to Jisung now. Although Jaemin has a good body, it's Jisung who's perfect to you. But you don't feel the need to touch him—you’d feel a bit silly doing it, and you know him already. So you just lean in and kiss his lips, your eyes fluttering closed. (You think you hear Jaemin say “aww” again in the background, but this time you pay it no mind.)
You'd worn a short slip dress tonight, thinking that it would be the most convenient. So now, Jisung moves his hands towards the hem of your slip. He makes eye contact with you and you nod. Then he pushes the fabric up over your hips.
You didn't wear anything underneath either, once again thinking that it would be easier. Jisung rests his palm high up on your inner thigh, and you close your legs around him, needing the friction. But as you relax more, you part them again for him, enough so he can touch your pussy.
He stretches you open gently, and you can't help but leak around his fingers, your body betraying your eagerness for him. Then he curls his fingers inside you and you tense up with the pleasure.
He gives you one long lick along the seam of your pussy, collecting your juices on his tongue. (And it's okay, since you'll make more for Jaemin.) He says he had to, since you always taste so good. Then Jisung leans down one last time to kiss your clit.
Jisung holds your legs open for Jaemin to eat you out, tongue everywhere and loud slurping filling the air. It makes your thighs tremble, but Jisung just grips you a bit tighter, holding you steady.
Jaemin is so good with his mouth that he has you squirting on his face, helpless to him. He grins at you again, lascivious this time. “There we go. Jisung didn't tell me that you could squirt.”
You want to hide your face from his gaze. But Jisung also looks as embarrassed as you feel on the inside, and he admonishes Jaemin for saying that. “Don't embarrass her like that!”
Jaemin just laughs in response, a genuine laugh, and in that moment you find yourself thinking that he really does have a beautiful smile. But you don't get to say that to him, since he's reassuring you now that you don't need to feel embarrassed. Maybe you can tell him later at the end.
You get on your hands and knees. Jisung’s hands go to your cheeks and he spreads them apart, which opens your pussy below, giving him a good look. Your pussy’s always open for Jisung if he wants it. He can take all he wants from you, because you love when he sluts you out. You can feel Jaemin’s eyes on you, too, making you clench around nothing.
Jisung claims your pussy, big hands holding your hips as you're speared open on his cock, hot and dripping around him. You almost want to run away from how full he makes you feel, but instead you wiggle back on him to get him even deeper inside, his cock touching your deepest parts. You hear Jaemin groan at the sight.
Jisung doesn't move, though. Instead, Jaemin moves in front of you and brings his cock to your lips. You open your mouth for him, and Jisung’s hand comes to your head to guide you onto Jaemin. You obediently follow the pace that Jisung sets as he uses his other hand to hold your wrists behind your back. You like that you're completely under his power, because it makes you feel like you're his. (And you are, but that doesn't mean he's yours.)
You suck on Jaemin dutifully. Jisung's only holding your waist now, skillful hips thrusting into you. It pushes your mouth a bit further down on Jaemin, and he groans and makes a comment about how good you are.
Jaemin knows your effort and rewards you by running a soft hand through your hair. You make a sound around him and try to look up at him the best you can in this position. He smooths your hair and tucks a lock behind your ear, and the affection almost makes you shiver.
“You like his cock, baby?” Baby. That was the first time Jisung had ever called you that, and in your heart you reply to him, please call me that again. Baby. But you're busy on Jaemin, so you can't answer. You just moan around him, because yes you do, and continue giving Jaemin everything you have.
“Better than mine?” Jisung pulls at your hair to get you off Jaemin.
With Jisung's hand still fisting your hair, you say, “No! No, yours is the best!” You squeeze tighter around him, easy for him as always.
He smirks at that and lets you go.
When Jisung comes, he makes no effort to pull out of you. Instead, he presses your hips to his so he can be as deep inside you as he possibly can, filling up your deepest parts as he comes.
“My girl,” he murmurs, and the possessiveness only makes you more pliant for him.
But now Jaemin’s asking if you can ride him too. You mindlessly nod at that, and Jaemin notices that, assuring you to take the time to catch your breath if you need it. You're grateful for his attentiveness. Sitting beside you, Jisung's hand goes back to your hair, but now he's very soft with it, running his fingers through it in a soothing way.
“Sorry if I hurt you earlier,” he says quietly, giving you a sheepish look. “I kind of got carried away.”
You shake your head. “It's okay. You didn't hurt me.” To reassure him extra, you give Jisung a quick smooch on the cheek, and you see his cheeks get rosy at that. Getting shy from a cheek kiss after doing all that to you…he's so endearing.
You think you're ready now for Jaemin. But…your pussy is still stuffed with Jisung's cum, so you look at Jaemin. He tells you it's fine, and beckons you to come closer.
He puts his lips to your ear and whispers, “You should tell him how you feel.”
You lean back from him in shock, and you steal a glance at Jisung, who's been watching you intently. His face looks perfectly neutral, though, so you don't think too much of it. Should you really tell him how you feel?
Ooh. Jaemin stretches you out. He's big too. Jisung's cum trickles out of you and onto Jaemin's body as you fully sit down on his cock. Your pussy is still tight for him even after Jisung.
“You feel so good, pretty doll,” Jaemin praises you. “I see why you like her so much, Jisung.”
Your heart perks up at those words, but you wonder if maybe now that you've started a more physical relationship with Jisung, he likes you primarily for that reason. But as long as he keeps wanting you, you'll keep giving yourself to him however you can.
As you're bouncing on Jaemin's cock, Jisung comes over to you to capture your mouth and kiss you deeply, tongue all up with yours. You're happy to be his; you're happy that he's making you his. Then, the two of you part and that leaves you free to cry out. “Jaemin!” He's hitting that best part in you perfectly, and your pussy is throbbing like crazy. The pleasure runs through your body.
Jaemin says he likes watching pretty girls like you fall apart on his cock. His hands go to your soft breasts, pushing them together and pinching at your nipples after. Then he smooths his hands down until they settle around your waist.
“Come on, keep going, doll,” he encourages you. So you do, your breasts bouncing in front of Jaemin's face.
Jaemin comes in you too, his cum mixing with Jisung's. You've now been claimed by both of them. You idly think about what it would be like if one of them knocked you up, how you wouldn't know whose baby you were bearing. But you clench at the thought of that, love the fantasy of giving them a baby. Being slutty enough to do something that would lead to this.
“What are you thinking about?” Jaemin asks you.
“Oh. Umm, nothing really…” You try to avoid his gaze.
“I know it can't be nothing,” Jaemin jokes with you lightheartedly. “I'm sure you have a lot of thoughts in your head.”
Oh, if only Jisung knew. “I do…”
But you don't say anything more. Instead, you get off Jaemin, and the cum drips down your inner thighs. Jisung comes over to you again with a question in his eyes this time, and you look at him, confused. He reaches out and lightly presses down on you, watching as more creamy liquid leaks out from your pussy.
So, that's all. When you don your little slip dress again, Jaemin exclaims, “You know, pink is my favorite color!”
Really? You look at Jisung for confirmation, and he sighs. “Sorry about him. Don’t mind him. But yes, it's his favorite color.”
“Hey!” Jaemin raises his arm towards Jisung, pretending like he's going to hit him, and Jisung jumps back. Their silly camaraderie makes you laugh, and you feel grateful for Jaemin's presence today and how he put you at ease.
“I don't mind! Actually, pink is also my favorite color. That's why I wore this dress.”
“Yeah, it's pretty!” Jaemin beams at you, and you smile back. He's so nice. Jisung’s friends are so nice, you think.
Jisung asks you if you're ready to go now, but you tell him to wait. He nods and leaves the room to wait for you outside, leaving you alone with Jaemin.
“Thank you so much for today. Especially the pictures,” you say. You're not sure why, but somehow you're more nervous right now than you were at the beginning. It's probably because you just alluded to the Jisung feelings.
Jaemin hums, sorting through the items on top of his drawer. He turns around and presents you with all the Polaroid photos he took of you and Jisung. “It's no problem at all. You deserve something nice. And I meant it when I said you should tell him.”
You graciously accept the photos from him and look at them before responding. “Yeah, you're right. I'm just not sure how or when.”
“You'll figure it out. I believe in you,” Jaemin says. He glances at the clock and adds, “But you don't want to keep Jisung waiting now, do you? I know he's waiting for you outside.”
Yeah, he is. You thank Jaemin one last time and go, heart a little lighter.
Notes: I started writing this on April 10th, and I had written a lot of the middle part in April, but for a while, I had a lot of trouble actually finishing this. I knew I had to either finish this or give up on it, and luckily inspiration struck tonight, so I ended up rewriting, editing, and finishing this whole thing tonight.
I think one reason I had trouble with this is because I sort of overcomplicated things in my head. I had also rewritten the introductory conversation multiple times, and I initially wanted it to be more elaborate and have more context, but that itself was giving me trouble. So I finally realized that I wasn't going to finish this unless I intentionally wrote this story to have minimal context, which is what I did tonight.
I really wanted to finish this so I could get it out of my head, and so I could cleanly move on to thinking about other stories. I have a few ideas for stories with more plot!
Thank you as always for reading! I hope I did well enough.

park jisung x female reader | genre: fluff, slice of life? | word count: 1,187 words
The pool boy your parents hired has been in a staring contest with a tree for several minutes now. Is he okay? You make a decision in a split second, rushing to the bathroom mirror to make sure you look presentable before going out to check on him.
By now, you've grown used to his presence in your family's estate every week, diligently scurrying around the pool to make sure everything’s clean. You know his name is Jisung from overhearing your parents’ conversation with him the day he started working here. He's really cute, all smiles and nose scrunches with a sweet personality too. But not that you would know in detail—you've never actually spoken to him before, only knowing about him from various glimpses of him through the window and seeing him update your parents on the status of the pool. Still, Jisung's sweet aura was as clear as day, and you want to get to know him more.
He flinches when he hears the sound of the door swing shut behind you, and relaxes once he realizes it's only you, the daughter. Even so, he apologizes.
“I'm so sorry for getting distracted! I promise I'll get right back to work now,” he says, eyes lowered.
“It's totally fine! Do you need a break? You can come inside and have something to eat,” you offer, wanting to treat this boy to something nice. You know he's been here for a while already today, having more work than usual after the storm last week overwhelmed the pool with leaves and other debris.
Jisung looks hesitant, eyes moving between you and the still-unkempt pool.
“I won't tell my parents, if that's what you're worried about,” you assure him. “They're not home right now either, so it's just us. Also, it's like, really hot out here! I wouldn't want you to get heat stroke or anything.” You had noticed earlier when walking up to him that Jisung looked rather flushed. Maybe the heat was getting to him, and that's why he was busy staring at a tree?
“Okay,” Jisung says, giving you a shy smile. “Thank you, Y/N.”
The excitement you'd felt when he agreed immediately morphs into surprise. Before you can stop yourself, you blurt out, “Wait, you know my name?”
By now you're leading him towards your home, and he follows behind you with happiness in his step. “Yeah, I think your mom mentioned you to me. So when I saw you, I was like, that must be Y/N,” he tells you.
(He quietly adds, “And you're really pretty.” You pretend you don't hear it, but the compliment makes your heart go all silly.)
You show Jisung around, and he looks at everything with unconcealed awe. “Wow. Your house is so nice,” he says.
“Yeah, it is. I'm glad you like it,” you reply. You're used to it—this is your home, after all, but Jisung's comment is making you appreciate it with fresh eyes again.
The two of you sit down at the kitchen island, and you pour a glass of homemade lemonade for Jisung. The chef had made it for your family just last night, so it's still very fresh. And speaking of the chef…you get down from your tall stool to check the refrigerator. Did he make it? You're shifting things around on the shelves, hoping to find what you're looking for.
And…there it is! You emerge triumphantly with a raspberry vanilla cake. It's your favorite, so you're happy that you’re now able to share it with Jisung. Having a crush really is making your summer days more special.
This time, you let Jisung cut a piece for himself. You watch as he eats, cheeks round with the food, and you think to yourself, I don't know how a boy could be this cute. He's handsome too in a sort of unassuming way, and you like that about him. He's beautiful in the same way that a flower is during the slow process of blooming: quiet, subtle, but about to become your everything.
“Is there something on my face?” Oh, you were staring at Jisung without realizing it. That makes you feel embarrassed, but when you look at him, you can tell you're not alone in that feeling, which makes you feel better. He adjusts his sleeves as he waits for your answer.
You're silent for a moment as you debate on how much to tell him. His eyes meet yours, sweet and open, and in that moment, you know you should tell him. He deserves to know.
“No, there isn't. I was just thinking that you're really cute when you eat.” And more, but you can tell him about that at a later time.
He looks shocked for a moment, his hand going up to cover his mouth, but then he breaks into a laugh. It's a lovely sound, and it makes you smile in return. “Aww. That's cute too,” he says.
The two of you finish the cake together. Jisung admits to you that he was in fact pretty hungry by the time you came out to see him, so you saved him from going through the next few hours with an empty stomach. You smile again and kick your feet under the kitchen island where he can't see, happy that he keeps reaffirming to you that you'd made the right decision to talk to him today.
“Oh, also. I have a question for you. Why were you staring at that tree for so long? I could see you from inside.” You sip at the remainder of your lemonade, genuinely curious to hear his response.
Jisung leans back and covers his eyes with one hand, embarrassed that you'd caught him. But when he looks back at you, his face is more serious than you'd expected it to be. “I was looking at the bark,” he explains. “I was thinking about how a tree is like a microcosm of the universe.”
You don’t know what possesses you, but you say it anyway.
“Just like us right now?”
The light pouring in from the kitchen window casts Jisung in a soft glow, illuminating the dust floating in the air behind him. “Yeah,” he answers. “You could say that.” And for a moment, no words are needed.
You fall into a comfortable silence with Jisung, punctuated only by the occasional sound of the birds chirping outside. You think about how you always felt like you were put into this big world with the ultimate purpose of being alone in the universe, yet somehow it had brought Jisung to you.
But you can feel it now, that it’s time for Jisung to get going. “We should hang out outside of my house next time,” you say.
“Oh! I’d like that too.” You look at Jisung in time to see one last smile from him, just for you.
So you run to your room to get your favorite set of sticky notes. With your green pen, you write a quick message for Jisung, and he puts the note into his pocket.
xxx-xxx-xxxx. Text me, Jisung? ♡
Notes: Funnily enough, the day before this idea came to me, I saw this post. So yes, I am aware that there are a number of recurring themes in my work, and at first I hesitated to start writing this because I didn't know if I wanted to write something that seemed to take bits and pieces from several of my previous works. But, I decided to write it anyway, thinking that it's okay, and I think it turned out in a way where it's still distinctly different from anything I've written before.
When I wrote this, I just let the natural flow of the scene guide me on where to go next, and this is what I came up with. I didn't realize until I was almost done that it turned out very slice of life-y, but it's kind of cool that I unwittingly did this. I also think I finally did better with the ending this time, which is good!
Although I would like to keep consistent "types" of formatting depending on fic content and length, I have realized that I most likely want to avoid lapslock from now on, and that even if a fic is a little over 1,000 words, I don't always want to give it a big introduction. So, here this is!
Thank you so much for reading. You're welcome to let me know if you have any thoughts about this!

—cute boy alert, fanfiction written by moraesong on tumblr, posted 2025
park jisung x female reader | genre: fluff, light angst | word count: 1,097 words
summer comes to you again the same way the doves patch above your hometown. you put a hand above your eyes as you look up at the sky, wondering if you'd get to touch it someday.
you're twenty now this year. you don't know what that means, really, but maybe you could be on the brink of something. and your heart beats faster as you think about that boy from the sea, and how his eyes would disappear into crescents as he smiled at you.
you do know what a promise means, how it's the weight of love tying you to something, or someone. so when the sun starts getting ready for a good night's sleep, you slip out to the shore where the two of you would always meet.
it's like déjà vu—everything here looks how you remember it. the sea shimmers under the golden light, the water ripples, and a head pops up above the surface. it's jisung.
the first thing he does is exclaim your name, and all you can think about is how sweet it sounds coming from his lips. you hold your hand out to him just the way you did the last time you saw him, and he looks amazed.
“you still have it,” he says, like he can't believe it.
“i promised you i’d come back, didn't i? i remember everything,” you say. you adjust the bracelet on your wrist so your favorite seashell is the one in the middle.
jisung is so talkative with you today, making up for all the words the two of you couldn't exchange during the months you didn't see him. you see the edge of his tail making little splashes in the water, showing how excited he is to be with you again. he's so cute. your heart swells with affection for your favorite merboy.
“how was your birthday?” you ask, knowing how he'd turned twenty too, just like you.
“it was really fun! um, i prepared a song to sing for everyone that day, to show that i can sing well now, and they all liked it,” he smiles, looking down shyly for a second.
“can you show me too?”
he does, his voice soft and melodious. you applaud him at the end and he leans back with a hand over his mouth, still shy and smiling at your praise. you want to tell him how much you adore him.
the next day, you come to the beach early. but what's that? there's a boy with pink hair walking towards you. and he looks like…jisung?
“jisung? how are you here? and your hair!”
you love the coral pink on him, fresh like clear summer. he's wearing a white t-shirt and blue shorts, and he looks like a human you'd be in love with.
“ah that's right, i didn't tell you yesterday!”
he says he'd wanted to surprise you, the new hair being part of the surprise for this special occasion. he tells you that merpeople can change their hair colors easily if they wish to, though he usually keeps his black. jisung reaches into his pocket to show you a tiny hourglass suspended in what appears to be polished sea glass, and explains that it’s keeping track of how much time he can spend on land today.
“but this can't happen often, right? did you have to ask someone to do this?”
you're thinking of those stories you've heard about mermaids who have to give up something important in order to live their dream of seeing the human world. and you don't want jisung to go through something like that, even if for you. but jisung sheepishly says that he just asked his mom if he could go. it's his first time ever being on land, and everything is new to him, but he'd really wanted to see you where you are.
oh jisung. stay the way you are.
sitting on your beach towel with you, he wiggles his legs, not used to having them. you poke at him, and he laughs, almost falling over onto you, but you'd always catch him. you like this a lot, summer with jisung.
you take him with you to get some ice cream, wanting him to experience that part of being human.
“it's so good!” he exclaims, eyes big with happiness. the two of you run back across the boardwalk, trying to get back to your spot on the beach before the rest of your ice cream melts. of course, this is jisung’s first time running too, but he finds out that he can run really fast.
“it's kind of like what i imagined flying to be,” he tells you. “that was really fun.”
after trying to build a sandcastle with a clumsy jisung, sunset comes to you again. jisung checks his tiny hourglass, which tells him it's almost time to go home.
“i really had fun with you today. i’m so glad i met you,” he says very sincerely. “thank you for showing me your world.”
your eyes tremble with tears at that, and he looks at you worried. you tell him not to worry, because it was only that you were so touched by his words. today with jisung was a daydream come true, one of those perfect days that only comes once in a blue. but now you're reminded of something important that you hadn't actually asked him earlier.
“jisung, did you have to give up anything to be here on land today?”
looking out to the sea, jisung confesses to you that the time he spends on land is the same amount of time that he will lose from the end of his life.
“but i don't mind, y/n,” he admits, eyes soft as he looks back at you. “i think today was worth it. i could do this again.”
“but it's really okay, jisung,” you say. “i don't want you to have to sacrifice anything to be with me.”
“are you sure?”
you can't answer that, but he seems to understand.
jisung glances at his hourglass. “it looks like i have to go now, y/n. but i can definitely see you at the shore tomorrow.”
“okay,” you reply. “i’ll be there too.” and before you can chicken out of saying it, you add, “i love you.”
“me too.” he puts a hand on his heart, showing you how he's received your love to carry with him as he goes.
you watch as he walks back to the blue, the gentle summer breeze tugging at him on his way home.
Notes: Once again, I'm not entirely happy with the ending, but I couldn't think of a way to make it better than it is now, so I've decided to leave it as it is. I thought about adding more details to it, but sometimes more feels unnecessary.
Still, I'm glad to come back with a follow-up to come and put that on my soul. At the time that I wrote it, I didn't want to make any promises I couldn't keep, so I didn't promise a second part. But, in the two months since then, I naturally thought about what I could write next, and there were some ideas I definitely wanted to include, such as the part about Jisung turning his hair pink and becoming human. And last night I was hit with inspiration for this story, so I immediately started writing, and everything else came to me as I wrote. I think for stories that are dependent on a certain kind of beauty in language, being in an inspired mood is important.
I will note here that the part about Jisung singing a song on his 20th birthday is indeed a reference to the cover he released that day. I also thought that this was going to be under 1,000 words, but it ended up being longer. Still, I'm keeping the formatting like this, especially to be consistent with the first part.
I hope you enjoyed reading this! Thank you for reading. You're welcome to let me know your thoughts on this as well!

Content: this is set in a non-idol alternative universe. reader is an escort who is pining for jisung, whom she sees often. unprotected sex, handjob, oral sex (m. receiving). reader leads, but in the sense that she wants to please him. fluffy in the first half
Word count: 1,128 words
Author's note: After the positive reception to hmm, I started thinking about what I could write for a part 2. I also wanted to sort of express my thanks for people's attention and support by giving you all a second part. Once again, you'll be able to understand this without a lot of context!
You're on your stomach, lying on the hotel bed. The sheets are cool and comfortable against your body as you wait for Jisung to come back, wearing only pink lingerie. He'd told you he wouldn't be long; he just wanted to go out and get some water for the night. Ever agreeable to him, you'd nodded your head and told him that sounded good. So now you're here, undressed already.
The memory of what happened between the two of you last time is still fresh in your mind. The way he'd touched you, the way you loved being so close to him. Tonight you want to repay him for that.
You hear the sound of the door click—he’s back. He's carrying several glass water bottles in his arms, and he dips his head, acknowledging your presence. As he carefully arranges the bottles on the table, you take this time to study his side profile. Jisung is nothing short of gorgeous. You love his dark, fluffy hair, and daydream about his soft lips on yours.
You sit up on your knees now, wanting to subtly show off what you're wearing when he finally looks over to you. Despite this, you're nervous again with anticipation. Even though tonight isn't the first night you'll be so close to him, you still get these feelings. You think it's because of the uncertainty. You don't know if Jisung wants anything more with you, or if he is content to keep you as his escort who he goes on dates with and eats out afterwards. If that's the case, it's okay, you suppose, but you don't think you're good at hiding how you look at him.
“You look pretty tonight,” you hear. You look at Jisung, who smiles at you. You duck your head, shy.
“Thank you so much. You're pretty too, Jisung,” you say. You mean it. He always is.
You stand up and walk over to Jisung. Once you get close enough to him, he hooks a finger under the upper band of your lingerie that goes around your waist, and pulls you even closer. You yelp and steady yourself with your hands on his chest.
You look at him wide-eyed, not expecting him to do that, and he tells you you're cute.
The boldness seems to come out of nowhere. You push Jisung towards the bed until he naturally sits down on it. Then you sit on his lap. You’d be embarrassed, on top of him while you’re almost bare and he’s still all dressed, but you have enough surety to know that he likes it from the way he reacts. He's silent, but he sucks in a breath like he's trying to hold himself back, and looks at you expectantly.
You hug him, appreciating the warmth of his body. For whatever reason, Jisung seems taken aback by this at first, but soon he relaxes and loosely hugs you back. You can feel him patting you ever so lightly. You're not sure why the hug surprised him. Wasn't it obvious to him, how your feelings for him shone through in everything you did?
Receiving a hug from him makes your heart flutter more than anything else, but you can't tell him that. Instead, you let him go and start kissing down his neck. Jisung shivers at the feeling. You can tell this is a sensitive place for him, so you make sure you don't overwhelm him.
Honestly, you'd be totally fine if the two of you didn't do anything more tonight. You're happy to just bask in Jisung’s presence, sit next to him, talk to him, anything. Even though he's the one who pays for your time, you think you're the one hopelessly wishing for him.
You're getting lost in your thoughts, but Jisung shifts under you, bringing you out of your reverie. Oh yeah. You can feel that he's gotten hard. You get up off him and turn around, not missing the way his eyes went to your ass, cheeks peeking out of your lacy panties.
“Do you want my help?” you ask. Of course, the answer is yes. So you lean down and unbuckle his belt, setting it aside after pulling it out of his belt loops. Then you let him pull his pants down for you.
You put a hand around him and give his cock a few sweet pumps. As you keep going, you feel him plump up in your hand, which you like. You squeeze him lightly, maybe a little teasingly, and Jisung's hips jump a little.
You know a good way you could make this even better for him. Ever eager to please him, ever wanting to be good for him, you kneel in front of him.
On your knees, you kiss the tip of his cock, the liquid glossing your lips. You suck on it, your lips closing around the head. Jisung groans at that and throws his head back.
You lick him as much as you can, his big cock a treat for you to enjoy. You close your eyes and breathe in through your nose, delighting at the way he fills your mouth.
You’re giving him all of your attention. Jisung watches as your head bobs up and down on his cock, how you try to stuff him down your throat as drool trickles out from the corners of your mouth. He's too big for you to do it all, but it's more than enough for Jisung as he tries not to squirm.
You like his size, how he can fill you up completely while still having more to go. Your throat constricts around him, and you feel him dripping down your throat. You can tell he's close, and he even puts a hand on the back of your head to keep you on his cock. But before he can come, you pull away.
“Sorry,” you apologize, looking up at him. “But could you umm…please?” You rub your thighs together and move to slip off your panties.
Your pussy is ripe for him to take, wet already from sucking his cock. He's a bit rougher this time, pounding into you, and you cry out and clutch at his shoulders. The wet sounds between the two of you practically make you blush.
You come fast, having already been on edge all this time. Jisung can't get enough of the feeling of you squeezing around him. He pulls out of you, though, and while your pussy immediately misses him, you get right to work, mouth on his cock again. He's coated in your juices, so you taste yourself on him.
Soon he comes in your mouth, giving you a big, thick load to swallow. You gulp him down greedily, loving everything he gives you.
Notes: I think everyone's interest in the first part also made me curious about what could happen next in this storyline. At first, coming up with ideas for this one was more difficult, but I think it turned out the best it could. I knew I wanted to make sure I didn't repeat anything from last time while still making this seem like a logical continuation. An important part of this was about keeping my writing style the same as before, which I think I was able to accomplish.
I do kind of feel like this part wasn't as good as the first in terms of the precision of my word choice, but I guess the process of writing each story is different. However, I think I did well with coming up with the sequence of events in this one, especially in the first half!
Thank you so much for reading! I hope you appreciate this.

You've been secretly wanting Jisung, but he wants you too.
Genre: smut (with light angst and fluff)
Content: this is set in a non-idol alternative universe. reader has been pining for jisung and is infatuated with him. jisung leads, but it's on the softer side. unprotected sex, backshots, oral sex (f. receiving), creampie
Word count: 1,163 words
Author's note: This story is set in the same universe as my previous story with the escort reader, but I also consider this as being quite separate from that one. Context isn't as important in this one, so you'll be able to understand everything. Additionally, let's stay firmly in the world of fiction here!
Your heart longs for Jisung’s love and affection, but your body lusted for him, too. Yeah, you craved him. You always tried to be discreet about it, feeling a bit shy about yourself, but sometimes you'd stare at him when he wasn't looking at you. Did he ever notice that you did that? You weren't sure if you wanted to know the answer.
You'd stare at his broad shoulders, or his slim, strong arms. Or sometimes his pretty jawline and full lips that you wished to kiss. You hoped to kiss his neck too, or maybe run your hands down his chest.
You fantasized a lot. You wouldn't tell him, of course, preferring to keep your conversations with Jisung innocent. And it's not that you were faking or anything—you loved your sweet, earnest talks with him. But as time went on, you started thinking that maybe you should try to make your fantasies into reality.
That would hinge upon whether or not Jisung wanted you too. Well, he likes you enough to call you up often and ask for your time, so perhaps this wouldn't be too farfetched. So you decide that you'll try and seduce him.
Okay, that's probably not the best word for it. This isn't something that comes naturally to you, so actually, your plan is more so about showing him that you want him, and hoping that he feels the same.
So the next date with Jisung comes. You're nervous. To be extra clear about your intentions, you'd also dressed more revealing than usual. Will he know from that?
When he sees you, you notice that he looks surprised, and his lips make an “o” before he composes himself.
You talk just like usual with him tonight, too on edge to verbally express anything to him. But you do put your hand on his thigh at some point during the conversation, and you feel him tense up. You almost take your hand away, wondering if he doesn't like this, but when you look at him, he just gives you a slight smile. (You don't know it, but Jisung always finds you cute. You're obviously so careful to not make him feel uncomfortable, but little did you know that he wouldn't mind at all if you did more.)
The turning point is when you catch him staring at your body. You make eye contact with him and he gets flustered, but you tell him, “You can if you want, you know.”
Jisung understands what you're trying to say. He asks you just to be clear, and you say yes. So the two of you are off to a more private place.
He takes you to a nearby hotel. It's a nice one. The room is luxurious and it has a beautiful view of the city, one that you almost get distracted by.
(It's hard for you to believe that this is your reality now. The guy you've been pining for wants to spend the night with you, and it's going to be here? You feel glamorous, but also like you were possibly given something you don't deserve.)
So you only watch as Jisung takes off his shirt, once again too shy to do anything more. Sitting on the bed, you cross your legs, and he smirks at you, knowing what that means.
He asks you how you want it tonight, and you answer that you're happy to satisfy him however he likes. You'll let him choose.
It's not long before you're all undressed, on your hands and knees. You make sure the arch of your back is all pretty for Jisung to see.
He's sweet, gives you time to adjust when he enters you. Your pussy loves him. He's so big, touching places inside of you that even you didn't know about before. You're drooling around him and still greedy for more.
Warm and wet—you’re gripping him tight. He calls you a good girl, and you squeeze around him. That makes him laugh a little. “You like it that much?”
You'd answer Jisung, ever dedicated to him and ever wanting to make sure that he's got you, but you're too overwhelmed to speak in this moment. You're overwhelmed in a good way. Your body feels like it's lit up from the inside. You love that you're so close to him, your ass flush against his pelvis. It's all him, it's all Jisung that you're feeling.
He gives it to you so good, just like you'd dreamed he would. You're practically scratching at the bedsheets. He gives you one particularly hard thrust, and you wail a little. Then he stops, and you turn your head to look back at him, confused.
Suddenly Jisung's hands come up to cover his face before he lets them fall away. He asks you if you'd like to throw it back for him? So you do that while he stays still, your little pussy swallowing his big cock again, easy. He smacks your ass lightly, being mindful to not hurt you, always treating you well. But you wouldn't mind if it left a mark on you. Then you'd really be his.
Well, no matter, because either way you'll let your body belong to him, give it up easy because it's Jisung.
You're spreading your legs for him now as his head is buried between your thighs. He loves how sweet and tight you are as he makes out with your pussy. You squeal as Jisung puts his tongue inside you and licks around, hollowing you out from the inside. He's so good, you think.
When he gets up, you take this time to lace your hands together with his, and lean in to kiss his lips. The two of you part, and you look at his eyes, so pretty, and your heart aches with how much you're infatuated with him. Pretty face, your pretty love. You stop and take a breath.
Jisung comfortingly puts his hands on your hips. He moves you so that now your back is more so up against his chest. He pushes into you until you’re split open on his cock again. You might never get used to his size.
He puts a hand around your neck, holding your neck gently, and his other hand goes down to your lower stomach, and presses down. Oh. He's trying to feel himself in you. Your pussy throbs at this, tightening around him again.
Between having Jisung's big hand around your neck and his other fingers now toying with your clit, you're so under his power. And he's so so deep inside you, it's all him, it's all him. He grinds up into you, trying to get even deeper if he can.
You squirt around him, the honey from your core dripping down your thighs. You got Jisung all wet too, and he likes it, coming inside you soon after. He comes a lot, filling you up with his warm cream. It's just too hot.
Notes: I wrote the first draft of this suddenly one night earlier this month, all at once. However, I later reread what I wrote, and I really felt that some parts needed more work. So I made some notes on what I wanted to change, and took some time to think about how I could change the story and what I could potentially add. The above text is the final result of my revisions, which were mostly done today. I think it was a good process, and that I naturally figured out what to change as I did it.
For a while, I wasn't sure whether I wanted to post/write something like this, but once I thought of the first line, I thought it was too good to not be elaborated on. And since I'd drafted this, I thought I might as well rework it and share it.
I did my best to pay attention to everything while revising, especially word choice and transitions between paragraphs. I found that it naturally ended up being a detail-oriented process.
Thank you so much for reading—I hope this was good (I'm a bit nervous as I'm posting this). Have a great day!

I want to thank everyone for all the support on this one! This is more than I would've imagined! Thank you all so much for reading and liking this story. This is actually my first smut, so I'm especially grateful to receive this positive feedback. Comments are appreciated as well, if there are any!
So the two of you are off to a more private place.

park jisung x female reader | genre: fluff, light angst | word count: 452 words
every sunset, you'd go out to the sea to meet your merboy. merman? you're not really sure.
every time you met him, you felt like it took you closer to the divine. he was the most beautiful person (unperson?) you'd ever met. and he was shy, too. he never came too far above the surface of the water, keeping his arms crossed in front of his chest, carefully, if he did. sometimes you'd reach out to ruffle his pretty black hair, and he'd look up at you with surprise in his wide eyes before shaking his head, little water droplets returning back to the sea.
or, you'd boop his nose, making him blush. the two of you were just nineteen and at the sunrise of your lives.
your merboy didn't really speak. you thought he couldn't and you were okay with that, his presence being enough for you. but one day you came to the shore and he greeted you, voice just as pretty as he was. he told you his name that day too. jisung.
from that day on, the two of you talked plenty. he'd been hesitant but he trusted you, all-too-human you, and you felt honored.
summer can't be forever. but he was your forever summer, and you promised that no matter what, you'd remember him for the rest of your life, that merboy you fell in love with when you were nineteen.
you don't worry about anything because the time you shared will always be enough. the magic he gave you, the magic you two lived in together.
on your last day together, jisung brings you a collection of the prettiest seashells he could find. he made a bracelet for you too, and you hold your hand out for him as he delicately fastens it around your wrist.
you swear to him that you'll come back to see him next summer. jisung tells you it's no rush. he says he'll always wait for you, always think about you. you were the first he ever loved, after all.
you can tell he's trying to be strong, but there are tears in his ocean eyes. you reach out to wipe his eyes dry, making sure that if you have to leave him, you'll leave him with his eyes bright under the sunlight, just the way they were the day you first met him.
when you look back at him one last time as you're leaving the beach, you see that he's giving you a hand heart. you were the one who taught him that.
blinking back your own tears, you return the heart to him. yeah, it's going to be all right. you know you'll see him again next golden summer.
Notes: For whatever reason, I was really inspired this morning, and I started imagining how beautiful it would be to interact with a young merman Jisung. The parts before the "Keep reading" cut are where this story originated from in my mind—those beautiful moments. I did tear up a bit while thinking about this, and near the end of my writing.
Since I was feeling unusually inspired, I decided to indulge that, and this is what I ended up writing. I feel that it's important for me to be able to produce things without too much deliberation, so I'm posting this little piece with minimal editing, and I intentionally kept it short and not too elaborate. I will consider adding at least one more part to this story, but nothing has been decided yet.
Also because this is a short piece, unlike my previous one, I've tried out a different, more minimalistic formatting.
Lastly, because I believe in the importance of giving credit as much as possible, I want to note that this story was somewhat inspired and influenced by this one.
That's all for now. Thank you so much for reading, and I hope you enjoyed!

Title from this song
—come and put that on my soul, fanfiction written by moraesong on tumblr, posted 2025
In which you're the escort who Jisung has been seeing regularly, but you're pining for him.
Genre: fluff, light angst, nonlinear narrative?
Content: this is set in a non-idol alternative universe. a bit suggestive at the beginning, but there's really nothing else besides that. reader is an escort but there aren't mentions of negative interactions with clients. overall pretty sweet
Word count: 5,344 words
Author's note: In a way, this story is an exercise in pining more than anything else, so it's not necessarily intended to be realistic. I wrote this with the idea that the reader's character is the same age as Jisung, but that is not specified in the story. I'll have more notes after the end!
Looking back, all of this began because of Na Jaemin.
You still remember that day so clearly. At the time, you were accompanying Xiao Dejun at a fancy hotel dinner that was held in celebration of a collaboration agreement between two large companies. It was only your fourth ever appointment since becoming an escort.
Na Jaemin was the most handsome man you'd ever seen in your life. You were flustered when he started flirting with you, with Dejun still by your side, no less. Thankfully, Dejun seemed amused and not annoyed.
Near the end of the party, Jaemin pulled you aside and asked for your phone number. You initially thought it was for himself, but he told you about his beloved younger friend, and how he was looking for a date for the next company gathering.
Na Jaemin was a master at reading people, and he could tell that you were kind and gracious—a good match for his beloved Jisung. But most importantly, he saw a genuine sweetness in you, one that you couldn't mask. He found you beautiful too, which didn't hurt.
So that was the beginning of it all. And here you are now, waiting for Jisung to come down to the pool in his luxury apartment complex. It's been five months since you had your first date with Jisung, facilitated with Jaemin's interference, of course.
Jisung was shy at first, but over time he'd grown more comfortable with you, and bolder too. Now he's one of your main clients, and you see him fairly often. He even started giving you gifts such as necklaces and bracelets. You had tried to refuse them, but he insisted.
It's Saturday afternoon, and Jisung had paid you to spend several hours with him today. This is your first time in his apartment complex, though. When you'd asked, he was vague about the details of how he wanted to spend this time, with the exception of mentioning the pool. So you'd brought your best bikini to look pretty for him.
You sigh loudly, alone at your pool chair. You don't know what you should do about all this.
But never mind that, because the door just opened. It's Jisung. You looked away after seeing him, but you can feel his eyes on you. You'll let him look—after all, you'd wanted to impress him today.
You finally look up to see him standing there awkwardly. He hasn't been this shy since your first few dates together, so you're a little confused.
“What is it, Jisung?” you prompt.
He grows even more bashful, if that's possible. “Ah, it's nothing,” he says. “It's just that when I saw you, I really thought that you're like a goddess.”
A goddess? You feel your cheeks warm. Yeah, Jaemin was right about you. You fall easily for words like this. Even though you've been an escort for half a year now, you're still affected by praise and sweet words.
But you shake your head. “I'm just me,” you say. “And you know me.”
“And you're the most stunning girl I've ever met.”
You don't answer to that. Jisung has a habit of trying to be romantic, and it's one that you should protect your heart from. After all, he could easily have a change of heart and stop paying for your company. It could happen anytime, really.
So you stand up and play the part of the sultry escort. You slide your hand down Jisung's chest and stop at his lower abdomen. He's so hot, you think. “Do you want to go in the pool now?”
The pool was actually really fun. You swam by yourself for a bit before rejoining Jisung. The two of you chattered away, and you ended up smiling so much that your cheeks hurt. Being with Jisung made you happy.
You're done showering now, and your hair is dry. Jisung is showing you some of the new song lyrics he's been writing lately. In his family, his older brother is the one who is more involved with the company, so Jisung is free to pursue whatever he wants, which usually means art. And you too, if you could be considered as someone who entered his life through money.
But really, truly, you didn't have anything to complain about, did you? You were steadily earning money through your profession, and you'd been able to meet Jisung, who treated you well and even went above and beyond. The only problem was that you liked him too much.
Was there ever a way that things could have turned out differently? You don't think so. Your fate was set for you the moment you saw Jisung's smile.
It was during your first date with him. He had been reticent until you said something that made him laugh—you always try to remember what exactly it was, but you’re never able to. All you remember is what happened after. The way he smiled and how it made his whole face look so cute and bright. And you noticed how Jisung’s smile was shaped like a heart, and in that moment, your own heart was set on him.
It didn't make sense, you knew. How could you have loved him already? Well, even if it wasn’t love, you knew there was something there. Not love, but your heart calling out for a home, and maybe it just so happened that Jisung was right there and it was convenient for your heart to attach itself to him. Maybe.
You had decided to wait the feeling out and see what happened. You knew after the first date that it could have been your first and last time seeing Jisung, but it didn't turn out that way. There were several more dates, and it all came to a peak that one Sunday.
You couldn't hold yourself back. At the end of the date, you kissed him, short and sweet. It startled Jisung, and he flinched and stepped back a bit. He hadn't expected you to do that. You saw this, and apologized immediately, feeling guilty because you knew it caught him off guard and you hadn't asked for his permission.
You watched as Jisung patted at his heart and took a deep breath. He told you that it was okay, and that he'd liked it, just that he gets startled easily and he didn't realize what you were going to do. Before he left, he added that you could do it again another time, if you wanted to.
It was after that when he became bolder with you, and a bit more touchy, taking your hand sometimes or leaning his head against your shoulder. You tried to not think too much about what that could mean, because he still paid you for your time every time, and he never said anything that indicated that he actually wanted to date you “for real.” Maybe he just liked the convenience of knowing you'd be there for him as long as he was a source of your salary. That you wouldn't turn him down because this was something you had to do.
You thought it was obvious to Jisung that you genuinely liked him, but one day you accidentally saw his text messages to Jaemin, and he'd written that you were a really good escort, and “Thanks for recommending her.” Did that mean he thought you were just really good at your job? Yes, you tried to be, but it was easy with Jisung because you were just that enamored. Again, you decided to not think about this too much, either.
To your surprise, you'd received a text message from Jaemin. He wanted to ask for your time this Friday evening—there was a fashion gala in your city that he had to be at.
You weren't sure what to make of this. Jaemin was Jisung's friend, so surely he must know how often you see Jisung, right? Unless you really didn't mean anything to Jisung, thus making Jaemin feel like he could ask this of you…
You were getting ahead of yourself. You shook your head and replied to Jaemin, telling him you could make it.
So the evening came, and you came with the resolve that if Jaemin tried to pull anything, you would strongly reject his advances. A silly part of you wanted to show your loyalty to Jisung, even if it didn't make any sense.
“You can relax, Y/N,” Jaemin said, more sincerely than you'd expected. “I won't do anything tonight. Just wanted your company.” He flashed you his megawatt smile.
“How do you always know?” you asked.
Jaemin winked at you, and laughed as he saw the disgusted face you made at him. “I have my ways. People are easy to read.”
And you'd never wished more that he didn't have this ability until this night came. You were sitting down by yourself, Jaemin off in the crowd with someone else—Lee Jeno, he said?—chatting and chatting. You let your eyes wander towards Ning Yizhuo, the star of tonight's gala, and get a heavy feeling in your stomach when you realize the person she's talking to now is no other than Park Jisung.
He knows her? That was your first thought. Your second thought is about whether they were dating or not. Jisung had never mentioned her to you, or anyone who seemed like a possible girlfriend for that matter, so you had assumed that he didn't have anyone and that you weren’t his “side piece,” if that was any consolation. But maybe you were wrong.
You know it's not right to assume that any girl Jisung is talking to is romantically involved with him, but the fearful part of your brain takes over. You want to look away, but you can't. You watch silently as Jisung laughs and smiles easily with her, and wish desperately that you could be in Ning Yizhuo’s place.
“Looking at Jisungie now, aren't you?”
Jaemin is back. He caught you…you remind yourself that tonight, you're with Jaemin, and no one else.
So you apologize. “I'm sorry about that, Jaemin. I promise I'm yours for tonight.” You sit up straighter and focus all your attention on him, looking him in the eyes. You'd forgotten how blindingly handsome he is, and it takes a lot for you to not look away.
But Jaemin just waves his hand. “No need to apologize, Y/N,” he says. “And if you're wondering, Jisung and Ningning are childhood friends. He's not seeing anyone right now. Well, except for you, of course.”
You must have looked visibly relieved at this information, because even though you thought you hid your reaction, Jaemin follows up with, “Wow, you really like him, don't you?” He almost looks sympathetic.
You look down at your lap. There's no point in denying anything when Jaemin knows it all. “Yeah.” You sigh.
Deciding to be brave, you ask, “Do you know how he feels about me?”
But before Jaemin has even opened his mouth, there's a new person pulling out a chair at your table. He has a strong bone structure and dark hair. He greets Jaemin casually before turning to you.
“You're Jaemin’s date tonight, right? Who are you?”
He's very straightforward, you think. But he seems fine. So you say, “I'm Y/N. It's nice to meet you.”
You're confused though, because his mouth drops open and he gasps. “Wait, did you say Y/N? As in Jisung’s Y/N?” At this second question, he turns towards Jaemin.
You were known by somebody as Jisung’s? What is going on…
“My apologies. I totally forgot to introduce myself! I'm Zhong Chenle.” He smiles brightly at you, and you find yourself smiling back easily. He has a melodious voice too, you notice.
Chenle is a fantastic conversationalist. It seems to you that he can talk about anything and everything. Within the span of your conversation with him, he's told you about his dog, what he ate for breakfast this morning, his new exercise regimen, and even the first time he met Jisung.
“Jisung and I have known each other since we were ten,” he says proudly. “I'm his oldest friend.”
Oh wow. So you'd do well to be on Chenle's good side, since they're so close…but wait, why are you thinking about all of this because of a guy who pays you to spend time with him? Are you really that down bad?
The answer is, unfortunately, yes. And you know that more than anyone. More than Jaemin, even.
But what you don't know is that Jisung had a whole conversation about you with Chenle. Chenle remembers it well.
“I really do think she likes me,” Jisung had insisted.
“You know she has to act like she likes you, right? That's what you pay her to do,” Chenle had pointed out, not unkindly but truthfully.
“But I really feel like she does. I think she likes me for real. She always looks at me this certain way and kisses me on the cheek at the end of all of our dates. She doesn't have to do that…”
The two were quiet for a moment. Then Jisung asked, “...Do you really think it's all just fake?”
He looked so dejected that Chenle's demeanor softened. “I don't know, Jisung. I haven't met her. I just don't want you to get hurt over someone who isn't supposed to hurt you.”
Jisung had sighed. “You're right. Maybe I'm just imagining it.”
But now that Chenle's been talking to you, he’s starting to think that maybe Jisung wasn't imagining things. You seem a lot more genuine and guileless than he thought you'd be. He's surprised. He even risks asking you what it's like when you spend time with Jisung, and the way you smile and giggle at the thought of him surely has to be real.
Chenle thinks he has his answer now, but he'll leave it up to Jisung to figure it out.
Chenle isn't the only friend of Jisung's whom you meet here. You hit it off with the kind and well-spoken Mark Lee to the point where you're enthusiastically exchanging phone numbers. As you're doing this Jisung actually passes by your table, and you almost pause what you're doing to wave at him, but he ignores you. You try to not feel embarrassed by that.
And wait a minute…where even is Jaemin?
You're back at Jisung's apartment complex. This time, you're on the rooftop deck, a breeze blowing through your hair and Jisung sitting by your side. The stargazing has been going just okay, since it's cloudy tonight. You've given up for now and have started chatting about other things instead.
Suddenly Jisung asks you, “Did you like meeting Mark the other day?”
“I did,” you say. “He's one of the coolest people I've ever met. I love how well-read he is and how uniquely he thinks about things. It's so cool that you're friends with somebody as amazing as him.”
You say this very sincerely as you look at Jisung, but the compliment doesn't seem to have the effect that you wanted. He just looks at you blankly. “Are you going to be seeing him a lot, then?”
Oh. He thinks it's like that?
“I don't know. I mean, it's up to him,” you reply after a brief pause.
Jisung just nods at you and hums in acknowledgement. It looks like this conversation is over. You don't like Mark like that, though, and you didn't get the vibe from him that he wanted to spend time with you as an escort.
You want to tell Jisung that he's the only one for you, but you keep your mouth shut before you blurt out something you shouldn't. You know you’ll have to say something sooner or later and that you can't hold it in forever, but for now you'll hold your silence. You've been doing it for this long anyways, so a little more should be okay.
Jisung had been hesitant at first, as he often is. When Jaemin told him about you for the first time, he'd refused the idea of hiring an escort to be his date. He didn't know what you'd be like, and he thought it might be immensely awkward to pay someone to spend time with him. But Jaemin reassured him.
“She won't do anything that you don't want her to. Since you're paying her, you can let her know what's ‘awkward’ and what's not, in your words,” Jaemin had said. “Besides, don't you want to meet someone new? She's really sweet and pretty. I promise you'll like her.”
Jisung had his doubts about that. But still, he relented and asked you to be his date.
He didn't know what to expect, but as it turned out, you were just as sweet and pretty as Jaemin said you were. Jisung being Jisung, he was rather awkward with you at first (and then he felt awkward about being awkward!), but you never reacted negatively towards him. You clearly tried to make him feel more at ease, asking him about himself and his interests, his thoughts about the dinner you were provided at the company gathering, and how he was feeling. Soon Jisung felt himself relaxing a bit in your presence, and you smiled at him beautifully.
Near the end of the event, you had told him, “Jisung, I didn't mention this earlier but I want to say this now. You're so handsome.” You put a hand on his arm, gently.
Jisung had blushed red and tried to stop himself from sputtering and embarrassing himself even more in front of you. “Really?” Did you mean it? Were you just trying to butter him up? Maybe this was something you always said…
“Yes, of course! Don't you know? You're gorgeous.” You moved your hand down to squeeze his hand, while Jisung brought his free hand up to cover his mouth in shyness and maybe even disbelief. You giggled at this, making Jisung look at you, and then the two of you giggled together.
Jisung decided that he didn't mind, even if you were just buttering him up. But he learned as time went on that you weren't, and you always meant what you said when you complimented him. It did boost his ego to be lavished with all this positive attention from a girl like you, and he even asked you one time if you could tell him about all the reasons you thought he was handsome. It was your turn to be shy and sputtering, but you told him.
Jisung liked having your attention. He realized that he did have some kind of effect on you, and so he came to enjoy flirting with you just to see your responses. And after the first time you took him by surprise with a kiss, the only kisses you initiated with him were kisses on his cheek. So from then on, he was the one to start kisses with you on the lips, and the way you'd be breathless with your eyes shining as you parted from him—he wanted to see that again and again.
Maybe there was a romantic in him that needed to be fulfilled. Jisung almost forgot that what the two of you had was bound by the material world of monetary payment and time limits. He paid you generously for your time with him, but the way you sweetly thanked him every time somehow tricked him into thinking that it was a gift to the girl he liked, rather than something you required from him.
What brought him out of this endless sky his delusional heart floated in was when you'd ask him if there was anything you could do better for him. Was there anything he wanted you to change? Did Jisung have any feedback for you about your services?
It was always jarring to him. How could it be, that you were only doing a job, but he felt so right with you? Jisung came to understand that you were a very good escort, and he told Jaemin as much. From a more cynical perspective, maybe this was all a ploy to be able to earn more from him.
Still, Jisung dreamed of love. And he remembers that one time you asked him, “Are you sure there's nothing better I could do for you? I can try more to be what you really want.”
He told you, “Just keep being you,” fully aware of how silly that may have sounded.
But you didn't seem to think that. Actually, you looked quite surprised to Jisung, and for the first time since he'd known you, you were fully speechless.
After that moment had passed, you'd nodded and took a deep breath. “Okay, Jisung,” you said. “I can keep being me for you. I will be for you.”
I will be for you. What did you mean by that? That you'd be yourself for him, yes, but had you been trying to say something more? Jisung doesn't know.
That night you quietly kissed his fingertips before leaving him to his own thoughts.
This was wearing on you too much.
Last night you'd stayed over at Jisung's apartment. You weren't supposed to, and it wasn't included in the time that he'd paid you for. But just a few words from him, and you'd folded. His voice had you weak.
“Please, Y/N? I think I'll sleep better if you're here with me.”
You couldn't argue with that. Maybe Jisung made you ditzy; maybe Jisung made you dumb. You prided yourself on being able to maintain your composure and your propriety, but maybe you'd never been that person with him from the start. Too easily swayed when it was words from the boy with the prettiest eyes and pretty lips.
So, even though it was far too intimate, you did it. His white bedsheets were soft, and he made sure you were properly covered by his duvet. It was quiet too; just the subtle sound of his and your breathing. Soft, soft, soft. Your heart that was soft for Jisung, the softness of his bed, and the softness of the peaceful night that felt like it could last forever.
Worst of all, or maybe best of all, Jisung was soft, too. He kissed you on the forehead and whispered to you a good night.
You felt like your heart was going to burst. He made you feel like a girlfriend, but you knew you weren't that to him.
But this had to come to an end. You've made up your mind, and you can only hope you're making the right decision.
You've been an escort for about seven months now, and for six of those, you've been seeing Jisung. You never thought when you started that something like this would happen to you, but you've been consumed by him. Waiting for his texts to know when you would see him next, because it was always up to him and never up to you—though he never kept you waiting for long.
You can only hope that he'll take it well after you tell him what you have to tell him, but part of you wants him to not take it well. You want him to care. But, will he?
No matter how this will turn out, you don’t feel ready for the consequences.
You arm yourself with your best outfit and a gift for Jisung. You're wearing a white tulle butterfly top with a long skirt (even though you're going to be indoors, it's still winter outside!), and around your neck is a locket: the first gift that Jisung ever gave you.
The plan is for you to meet Jisung at the restaurant today. It's a popular restaurant and Jisung was out with his parents for a long while earlier, so to make sure the restaurant honored his reservation, he had to quickly make his way there on time rather than meeting up with you first.
You don't mind. It gives you a little more time to mentally prepare yourself before you have to see him.
But when you arrive at the restaurant and see him sitting there, you almost feel like all your worries were in vain. You're just happy to see him. Jisung looks just as beautiful as he did the first time you met him.
He doesn't notice you until you're a few steps away. “Y/N! You're here.”
“I am!” you say. You lean forward and kiss him on the cheek. Usually you only do that at the end of your dates, but you don't know how today is going to turn out, so you'd rather do it now while you still can.
“What is that?” Jisung asks you. He's looking at the big gift bag you're holding.
“It's for you,” you tell him. “Happy early birthday, Jisung.”
“Wow,” he says, in a very Jisung-like manner. “You didn't have to get me anything! Being with you the weekend before my birthday is enough of a gift for me.” He smiles at you, and you don't think you're imagining the softness in his eyes. That gives you hope.
“You know how it is. Anything for you,” you respond. You resist the urge to sigh those last few words out.
Jisung asks if he can see the birthday present right now, or if you'd rather he wait. You find his excitement cute, so of course you pick up your gift bag and give it to him. In any case, you're trying to have as many sweet moments with him as you can before you might never see him again. Keep it sweet while it's sweet. Don't mix sweet and sad.
You're trying. You think you're keeping the bad feelings at bay well enough so far.
As expected, he likes your gift a lot. You gave him an Oasis vinyl, knowing his love for the band. Jisung says that he thinks this might end up being his best birthday ever. You're struck by how happy he seems to be today. Is it because of you?
Before the two of you start eating your food, you ask Jisung for a selfie together. You can tell he's a bit embarrassed to draw attention to himself in such a full restaurant, but he still says yes, so you come over to his side of the table with the thought that you'll make it quick. But Jisung surprises you again when he reaches for your phone and takes a few extra selfies of the two of you.
“I always take a bunch of extra ones when I take selfies, so don't worry about it,” he reassures you.
Dessert time comes in a flash, and when both you and Jisung are almost done with your chosen desserts, you know it's now or never. With your heart beating fast, you take a deep breath.
“I just want to say happy birthday to you again, Jisung. Today was really fun and I hope your birthday this year will be the best one you've ever had. But I have something I need to tell you.” This time, you can't stop yourself from sighing. The nerves are too much.
Jisung nods and waits for you patiently.
“I'm going to be quitting next week. I thought about it for a while, and I just feel like I'm not a good fit for this job, and I can't see myself doing this for much longer anyways. Since we see each other so often, I wanted to let you know. And I'm really sorry to bring this up so close to your birthday, but the timing…it just worked out that way. I'm sorry.” You lower your eyes, afraid of his response.
When you dare to look up, you see that Jisung looks concerned more than anything else. “Are you okay, Y/N? Did something bad happen?”
“No, nothing bad happened.” You deliberate on whether you want to say the next sentence in your head, and you think, why not, at this point. “Well, something did happen, but I don't think I can really tell you about it.” You shift in your chair.
“That's okay. I understand,” Jisung says. This is going a lot better than you'd hoped. He doesn't seem upset with you for not telling him earlier, and he's also not pressing you about your reasons (the aforementioned “something” being the fact that you really genuinely like him and can no longer handle being in the in-between position you're in as the escort he hires).
Jisung interrupts your mental processing with, “But, while I still have you here with me, is there anything else you want from me? It can be anything. I want to repay you one last time.”
You hesitate. There is something you want from him, but if you ask for it he'll know your feelings for him.
Well, he did say “anything”...
“Yeah, there is something.” With your fingers, you awkwardly hold up the heart-shaped locket you're wearing. “...Do you think you could give me a photo that fits into this locket?”
You immediately regret saying that. From an outsider’s perspective, it makes zero sense for you to have a locket with a photo of one of your clients. It makes even less sense right after you told said client that you're quitting. But you've long given up on trying to make sense to yourself.
You remember what Jisung told you the day he gave you the locket. He said he bought it for you because it reminded him of your style. Although he didn't say it outright, he'd implied that there was no particular reason that it happened to be a locket. Still, you loved it and treasured it, keeping it safe in a jewelry box.
“Y/N…what kind of photo? Do you mean a photo of me?”
“It can be whatever you want,” you mumble, not wanting to admit what you meant. But it seems like he already knew.
“I said it can be anything, so you can tell me exactly what you want. I can give you a photo of me, if that's what you want. But are you sure that you don't want something else? Why do you want a photo of me?”
Oh no. Now he's grilling you. His calm demeanor throughout this conversation is making you nervous.
You never intended to be the escort who got attached to her client, but that's what you are today, and what you were yesterday, and what you were for the past several months. It's time for you to be honest with yourself, and honest with Jisung.
So you say, “Jisung…hasn't it been obvious? I really like you.”
Silence. Oh, you knew this was a bad idea.
Jisung reaches across the table to take your hand. You look at him, vulnerable. “I really like you too,” he confesses. “I thought you knew. I don't think I really hid that.”
You stare at him in shock. This is everything you hoped for. Did you hear that right? Did Park Jisung just confess to you?
You don't say anything, so Jisung continues. “Is it that hard to believe?”
“No, I guess not…but I couldn't be entirely sure of your feelings, since you never said anything.”
“I was going to, but I talked to Chenle and he kind of talked me out of it. I did think that maybe you liked me too, but I started doubting everything after I talked with him. So I decided to just wait.”
“I think I liked you from the beginning,” you say. “I'm so glad you feel the same.”
So when the two of you leave the restaurant and Jisung asks you if he'll be seeing you again soon, you don't say that it's up to him. You give him a time and date, and this time he's the one to leave you with a kiss on the cheek before you go.
You make a note to text Jaemin and thank him for everything.
Notes: Although I'm not entirely happy with the last part of the final scene, I feel like the way it is now is probably as good as it's going to get, so I decided I would leave it and be finished with this.
I have been slowly working on this story since July 21, 2024, in sections when inspiration struck me, so it's been a while, and I wanted to finish it! This year, while trying to finalize the context for the final scene, I realized that it would make perfect sense for it to be related to Jisung's birthday, and for me to post this before his birthday. This also gave me the push to really go for sharing this for real!
So, thank you so much for reading!! I hope you enjoyed! This is my debut fanfiction for NCT, so I'm both nervous and excited to post this.
And finally, everyone, please give the real Jisung a lot of love, and look at him prettily!
