I feel like Arthur and Morgana had a good relationship in their teen years after Morgana started living with them. (Not ArMor)
Arthur doesn’t like it when Morgana first comes to live with them
“Girls are gross,” he argues with Uther.
But Uther is firm and tells him to be welcoming to Morgana- she just lost her family and will need all the comfort and feelings of home that she can get
For the first few weeks, Morgana doesn’t talk to anyone
But Morgana, fascinated by the knights practicing in the fields below, sneaks out to watch
One day, Uther invites her to join (he just wanted to include the poor girl- I don’t know if his intentions were to actually make her good with a sword)
Eleven year old Arthur is extremely annoyed
But after just a week on the practicing fields, Morgana bests him
And after that, they really start to click
No one knows how it happened- one day they weren’t talking to each other, and the next, they were almost inseparable
Food fights at the dinner table
Arguments over the bathroom
“Father! Morgana’s been in there for an hour!”
“Shut up Arthur. Maybe if you spent half the time taking care of yourself like I do, you might actually look decent.”
Arthur and Morgana practicing with their swords almost every day.
“It appears, Arthur, that you’ve lost yet again,” she’ll tease.
“Don’t be ridiculous. No one can best me,” he replies.
“No one can make me eat that,” Arthur will say when dinner is something he doesn’t particularly like
“No sword is too heavy for me,” Morgana will argue on the training fields
When invading armies attack Camelot, they hide together in the castle
“No blade can kill us,” Arthur reassures Morgana.
Sneaking out to explore the village parts of Camelot
Arthur’s friends flirting with Morgana
Arthur going into protective mode at first, but then realizing that Morgana could hold her own
Arthur also realizing that Morgana actually has eyes for Leon’s friend, Gwen
Arthur and Uther’s arguments increasing almost daily when Arthur enters his teen years
Morgana overhearing and quietly going to Arthur’s room when it’s all over
Arthur just breaks down- he has no one else to go to and despite all their bickering, Morgana is his closest friend
She somehow always knows what to say to help him feel better
Arthur going with Morgana to her father’s grave on the anniversary of his death
They once had a very heated argument over a bird that Arthur had shot
Morgana thought it was a raven
Arthur insisted it was a crow
Meetings with other kingdoms get boring sometimes
So when a distant king or queen is in the throne room speaking with Uther, Morgana and Arthur will try to make it a little more bearable for themselves by casually dropping a word into their conversations with the visiting monarch
“A pleasure to meet you, Your Highness,” Morgana will say. “Remind me how far your kingdom is? About three days as the crow flies, if I’m not mistaken.”
Arthur almost loses it (Uther gives him a very stern warning look)
When Morgana “turns to the dark side,” it just so happens that birds are an effective way of communicating discreetly
She uses a raven for two reasons– they’re intelligent animals and they reminds her of what she’s after.
When she wakes up, she wishes desperately that she could be back in Camelot with Arthur pounding on the bathroom door
The more desperate she gets for the crown, the more she longs for her days back in Camelot
“No mortal blade can kill me,” she says before dying
And Arthur flashes back to all those years ago when they hid in the castle
Flashes back to when they were brother and sister, tied at the hip
Back to when they were friends
