Hello! I'm Dr. Ayden Herzberg, head of the Mortuary Departement at Princeton Plainsboro Teaching Hospital.
I've been on tumblr since my youth but recently I've seen people that work at PPTH pop up on here, so I figured I'd make an official blog for myself.
That being said, I suppose I should present myself succinctly for any of my colleagues on here.
I studied in France, my home country before moving here and finding this job. I have a medical degree in forensic pathology, but given that our team at Plainsboro is quite small, I also take on the work of a classic mortuary technician. I've been working in this department for about 3 years, now.
On a more personal note, I don't care at all for gender, so refer to me however you want. Outside of work, I like to read, write, draw and paint. I play guitar and a bit of piano, but I'm terrible at both. Please be as patient as I am with trying to understand you. I'd like to get to know you all a bit more. Ask whatever you want.
________ OOC ->
Hi! this is my first ever role play blog so please be kind with me.
Here's where to get to know my OC better:
Get to know Dr. Herzberg! (which is being updated as things and interaction happens; so if you're new, you can know basically all about him on here without needing to read all my posts.)
Dr. Herzberg's general vibes.
Here's some things you might want to know:
- I'm an adult, but please refrain from NSFW role-playing of any kind. teasing and suggestive jokes are fine, but please keep it at that.
- I'm fine with interacting with minors AS LONG as you make no sexual or suggestive talk or jokes at all.
- I am in no way an actual doctor in the Mortuary field, I just know a lot about how things are run and what the job consists of. You can ask questions about it if you want, and I'll answer in character.
- My OC and I use he/him pronouns and so do I.
- I am autistic in real life; not pretending online just for the sake of an rp.
- Anonymous asks are welcome. any asks are welcome.
- No RP in DMs, please! it'll be very confusing for me.
- I'll use red when talking OOC.
- This is all for fun! if you find my rp annoying or if anything I said troubled you, please come and tell me. Same thing if you have a want or an idea for our ocs to interact.
My others account:
main: @spatule-au-lait (non-rp)
Thank you for reading. Have fun! don't hesitate to interact!
(sorry, I don't know if it's of any interest. it's just been in my mind for a while)
The clock on the tiled wall shows a time close to midnight as Dr. Herzberg stands alone in the morgue, hips pressed against those sterile, metal examination table. Disinfectant, wipes, various creams and some sort of silicone sheets lay on the table before him. Hunched over himself, a hand keeping up his shirt, exposing a good portion of skin, he's carefully dabbing clean two scars on the side of his stomach. The two cuts, evidently freshly healed, were still very much red and surrounded by little dots: they had been stitched closed. Struggling to see the scars correctly, Ayden's hands were clumsy with pestered by uninvited tremors. When he heard someone come in, he quickly looked up, frozen in place.
"ah- Sorry, I thought I had closed the door," he managed to mutter out.
I'm not sure if I should really be hiding you, but I guess you can stay here. don't have to stay under the desk, though... no one will think of looking for you here.

Now that my office is cleaned out it's even clearer to me that I've been working in a shoebox this whole time. the first thing people usually say when walking in is a comment on how small it is (and cluttered before I cleaned it out). always gives me "damn bitch, you live like this??" vibes.

I'm a big fan of movies with darker topics. My top four on Letterboxd (if this helps, haha) are Trainspotting, Like Minds, Donnie Darko, and Eternal Sunshine in the Spotless Mind.
If that doesn't help, then psychological thrillers are a general safe zone for me. I usually enjoy them!
I see! I'm not sure if you'll actually like what I'll recommend, but it's worth a shot. Based on your top four, you might want to check out Calvary (2014), Spider (2002), I'm thinking of ending things (2020) and Pi from 1998! great taste by the way, I love Donnie Darko. :)
