Look, I’m going to tell you something
The people, who hate Endeavor in the most harmful way, are people the people that are projecting their own issues on the character… and then on other people.
 If that angered you, you should not read what comes next.
I swear that all of the post I read about people hating on him (in their long, long articles or replying to others) revolves down to: “as a victim of abuse, I…” they hit you with their sad back-story, like that should be enough reason for you to quit enjoying the character.
 And if you keep doing it after hearing how bad this affect then, well, obviously you are an abuser or an abuse apologist or both. Look, hating a character because you have personal issues is fine. Hell, you can hate a character because you don’t like his hair. Go for it. but is when we get personal when we have a problem. Fuck your sad back-story.
We all had our fun hating Endeavor. We put him in this well-deserved mold of “abuser” and let karma do his job with fics and fanarts. Because if the author won’t do it, then by the Greek gods we will (I will mention the fact that he always was portrayed as an excellent hero but a shitty father, giving him more character but I also will say: who cares, bring the pain!).
He was at the top of the hate list. Sharing the place with characters like Overhaul, Mineta and…
And I want to say “All For One” but he is actually not that hated… eeeeven though he is the big bad and killed the woman who was the strongest female superhero that we know of and depowered another one.
Point is, everyone hated Endeavor, except for like three people (and even they had no problem recognizing his “fave” was trash). And everything was fine. He as an abuser and the perfect character for some people to project their own issues and get their revenge fantasy without anyone saying much on the matter.  Â
 But then, surprise, the inevitable happened: Character growth.
And if there is something people are weak for, is character growth. Specially writers and people who like reading books. Â
So people started liking Endeavor, along with those brave souls that already liked him, who now could say it out loud. Hell, even in canon appeared people who genuinely liked Endeavor. People extremely cool (Hawks).
And for some people that… that was outrageous.
How dare the author. He was supposed to be the abuser, forever hated by everyone in canon and outside it. Now the character was ruined. They can’t no longer project their hatred into him without putting an effort.
So, the excuses began.
“He didn’t say sorry”, “he doesn’t deserve it”, “the author supports abuse”, “the fans support abuse”, “Hawks actually hate Endeavor”. Insert here at least two reasons to hate/kill Endeavor for every member of his family.
And the worst and most bullshit reason of all the bullshit reasons goes to: “He is an adult.”
 This one is normally used to justify why loving Bakugou is okay while liking Endeavor makes you trash. Because: “Bakugou is just a kid, he is learning.  But Endeavor is an adult, so…” I find this frankly offensive and ironic in a way.
I wonder, what does this people thing an adult is? A stalemate state where all grown must have been done? You stop learning after 25, 30 or 40? How old are this people? (If you are one of this people, no, don’t answer that. I don’t really care. Just wondering out loud).
 I wonder, would they say the same thing to real life bullies or their victims? (Since boy, how they love bringing real life into this)  “Oh, is okay, he is just a kid, he will learn. If he was an adult, now that’s would be truly bullying, kill all the adults!”
It is because is fictional? Then why the fuck are they attacking people over fiction. Why the fuck are they bringing their personal lives into other people that never asked for it.
 But yeah, in short, they are just mad because Endeavor is going out of this “abuser” mold. Indiscriminate hate is no longer an option supported by canon.  People are starting to genuinely liking his character. His family is willing to give him a chance (some of them, but we all know how that will turn out because this is a manga, not your life).
They are just mad because Endeavor is changing, so now they can’t fully pour all their projections onto him or his family. And they are attacking people over it and, in a terrifying number of cases, using their private life as a weapon to justify themselves. Â
 But here is the thing: Fandom does not care about your private life. We all have our own garbage, why would we want yours into our manga.
 After all is said and done, hate whatever the hell you want. Hate Endeavor, hate Bakugou, hate Mineta. But people have the right to love said character, just like you have to hate it.
 And we don’t care about your sad back-story. Keep that shit to yourself and leave the fans alone.
