I write our names on every street I pass asking love to find us, when the truth is he found me long ago but you werenât there.
This poem tells of how I loved you but also of how you didnât love me too.
My hands tremble when you touch them and it takes days to hold things properly again. But the fact is: I canât blame hearts for not beating the same. Â
Maybe what Iâm looking for was never yours to give.
I wonder if itâs time to let you go and hold myself instead.
âThe walk back from Unrequited Street,â Alaska Gold.
I love the fact that Parks and Rec uses the same documentary style as The Office without there being any actual documentary crew or any in universe attempt at explaining it. Thereâs just this invisible camera crew and thatâs how the world is. Itâs the best. Itâs so weird and the lack of explanation makes it better.
still not over Zendayaâs Joan of Arc
âLook at you, so full of light. Not afraid to get burned, not afraid to burn out.â
â âYou live and do it so well,â from Growing Light.  Alaska Gold.
can I call you cutie?
You can call me Ponyo.
why am I crying so much?
Because youâre covered in little flower seeds, and they need a lot of water.Â
âLook at the darkness in you, this is where the stars are born. Donât let them tell you differently.â
â Alaska Gold.
On the corner with main street thereâs a place where broken things can be replaced with better ones instead.
Two cents for a new hand.   Twenty for one that wonât hold on to anyone.
I met a boy there once, said to him his eyes looked like the moonâs and only God knows why he smiled a moment later.
These days I wake up and make sure my eyes donât forget to open. It feels like someone turned off the lamp on their way out of my heart, and Iâm still looking for the light switch.
Even speaking feels like bruising now.
So when I found you there, smile trembling like it hadnât been used for days, looking for something to replace. I knew the world had been treating us the same.
I reached out, there was a star lodged between your ribs and I wanted to ease your kind of hurting.
But it wasnât a starâ Â Â that was your heart glowing.
âWe were more than our hurting,â Alaska Gold.

There are 4 things I learned when I was 25:
You do not have to be affectionate all the time to care for someone, in fact, caring can also mean a couple of texts or silence for a few days while you both live your lives happily and separately.
People do not care for you less when theyâre busy with their own lives. Itâs your reaction to them being their own person - and your ability to make yourself happy - that determines how they feel about you.
Not everyone reciprocates to your actions the same way. If you want someone to acknowledge, be interested in, or treat you a certain way for your efforts, all you have to do is let them know. They will try their personal best to accommodate that within their personal spectrum of feelings.
No one owes you 100% of them, not even after 30 years, because someone having a percentage of themselves is what keeps them sane at the end of the day and thatâs okay.
These things are so important to learn.
Draw me like one of your French girls.

I had to break some parts of me to break away from my sadness. Iâm sorry I left nothing whole for you to hold.
