A smile tugs at her lips when he asks for confirmation.
It helped her see just how genuine of a person he was, which was a real rarity these days. Usually, when people are this willingly helpful, there’s something in it for them. Or they’re just trying to use Daisy. It’s hard for her to get rid of that mindset and trust people. But Daniel has proven to her that he can be trusted, that she can be vulnerable around him if she wants to be and, he won’t look down on her for it.
“We also–”
Daisy looks down at her hands, afraid of what his reaction might be now that they weren’t in dire circumstances.
“We also kissed. Well, technically, I kissed you. At least the first time, the second time…”
She’s fighting back a smile at the memory, finally daring to make eye contact with him again.
A smile and another nod took place, pretty PLEASED to hear that he managed to help even if he didn’t remember. “Well, I’m glad it did.” He replied with a rather small but genuine smile. Sousa still didn’t understand the whole time loop situation, only going off of what Daisy, Simmons, and Deke had EXPLAINED to him. Seems it was a commonly theorized thing from their time.
However, his attention SHIFTED to her words, her pause as if she was holding back something else. The drop of her gaze from his told him that it was something she wasn’t quite comfortable with sharing, as if she was gaining the courage to say. So he waited. What she said next was completely unexpected. A kiss? THEY kissed? And he didn’t remember? The look of surprise was clearly written on his face. His gaze left her’s for a moment before returning to her’s as she went ON.
“And by my luck I’d forget due to this time loop.” A small chuckle left his lips as he shook his head. “That must have been SOME talk we had then.” His own features shifting back to the small smile from before.
