Sonya wouldn’t exactly say that she was ‘excited’ to have all the little brats coming back, but it would mean things were more lively. The blonde was roaming the halls again, looking for wrongdoers. She was supposed to be helping students move back in, but that wasn’t going to happen.

The bodyguard was starting toward the closed-off parts of the school when she found someone. “Are you supposed to be back here?”

Lyra had barely unpacked one bag before she hard started to feel restless. Being away from campus and on a roadtrip had made coming back feel like a drag. She found that she couldn’t sit still for very long, not that she had ever been really good at that to begin with. Sneaking away from the doors and towards one of the closed off areas of the school, Lyra used her powers to get through a fence. Sure it wasn’t really necessary, but the thrill of it made her heart race and she had missed that feeling already. Hearing the voice from behind her, Lyra spun around quickly. “Oh hey there. Long time no see.”

Lyra blinked a few times before hearing that Helena was just kidding. Letting out a sigh of relief she placed her hand over her heart. “You totally just made my heart race there, Teach. I nearly believed you.”

           for the first time in what felt like forever, lyra felt nothing but happiness. she was on the milano with both of her parents, scarlet and rini. it seemed too good to be true, but lyra felt at peace. being able to be free to travel space with her family, having a place to call home but not being tied down to one planet, it was perfect. the feeling of someone ruffling her hair had lyra chuckling and pretending to glare at her father, something she felt like she hadn’t done in a while. yet at the same time she had to stop and wonder, how long had she been on the ship? how did they get there in the first place?           when that thought entered her mind, something seemed to shift. she couldn’t hear the giggles of scarlet as she played with rini in the corner. she couldn’t see her mother’s pinky locked with her father’s nor did she see anyone on the ship.           “no...no, no,no.” lyra’s mood switched immediately, the lighting of the ship taking on a darker tone while she started to walk forward. phasing through the nearest wall, lyra began to search for anyone...any sign that she wasn’t alone on the ship that suddenly felt foreign.                      “dad? mom? scar? hello?! i’m supposed to be the funny one,                      so quit playing around!”

But I digress. Hi, I’m Dusty Rider, and before you say anything, yea, I know my name sounds like a gross sexual position.”

Lyra didn’t even bother to hold back the laugh that bubbled up when she heard his words. Looking up at him from her spot on the grass, Lyra shook her head. “There’s so much I could say about that entire thing but just know that Dusty Rider also sounds like an intergalactic strippers name.”

“In some cultures,yes. It’s a sign of interesting and dedication to the conversation.” Lyra nodded, trying to remember which cultures they were. Her mother would kill her for not knowing it off the top of her head. Whoops. “Space is great, Stark. You don’t have to visit those planets. Just know that you’ll be missing out on the most entertaining dinner parties of your life.” She had to blink as few times when she heard the words thank you leave his mouth. She was so shocked by that fact that all she could utter was a , “you’re welcome,” at first. Maybe they could get along in small doses? Tiny microscopic doses, it seemed. “I’m going to choose to be flattered by your faith in me instead of offended by that very true fact you threw my way.”

I would’ve been a little disappointed if you disappeared before I got a chance to hold up my end of the bargain.” Lyra hadn’t backed away the entire time, smirking down at Jade before leaning in even closer. “I should probably get going, but just so you have something to remember me by...” She trailed off, slowly closing the distance between them until their lips barely brushed against each other before pulling away. “I’ll see you around, Jade.”

               In the heat of the recent events at Aeterno Academy                         { Another vacation gone wrong?                         She was starting to worry for the                         safety of everyone at this school…                         Staff and students alike },               Scarlet realized she hadn’t been spending time with the people who MATTER. 

              Postpartum depression was hitting the blonde and it was becoming unbearable.     So Scarlet did something she usually never did; She secluded herself. Her dormitory,     now, was cluttered with papers sprawled across the floor, books read and re-read     laying open, pages torn out { both from Rini and from Scarlet, herself }. She’d been     so absorbed in her writing and her reading and all the fantasy worlds that were so     much better than the world she, herself, was living in, that the Pryde daughter hadn’t     made an effort to reach out.

                                                 Luckily, she had the best sister in the world.                                                                                  One who did it FOR her. 

              “Lyra!” She squealed, throwing her arms around the taller Pryde. “It’s so good     to see you!” Her enthusiasm was so immense, one wouldn’t even realize the cloud of     depression constantly looming overhead. “And, and, and! Rini is WALKING now! Look!”

              Once she was wrapped up in the warmth of her younger sister’s arms, Lyra felt completely relaxed. It was like just being near Scarlet was enough to make her instantly happy. Normally Scarlet didn’t even have to try to bring a smile to the other Quill-Pryde child’s face, it was just like magic.               “Yup, that’s my name the last time I checked, Small Fry.” Lyra chuckled before pressing a kiss into the blonde’s hair. “I could say the same about--- What?!” The news of her niece being able to walk had Lyra pulling away to gape at the child.                                    (Was that even possible?                                       Magic or her other genes?                                               Either way it was extraordinary.)

              “That’s amazing!" Lyra agreed, letting her arms drop to her side as she moved to kneel down in front of Rini. “You’re just as amazing as your mom, you know that?”               Turning her smile back towards Scarlet, Lyra straighten back up. “Speaking of amazing, I have a surprise for you, Scar. I hope you weren’t planning on doing anything tonight.”

They might combust from the heat.” Hearing that Lux knew her sister made Lyra tilt her head to the side and grin. “That would be me, the cool sister. It’s a pleasure to finally meet you,Lux. What’s my sister told you about me?”

“The cafeteria sounds like the best way to start a tour. You know, I think you might already be on my top three list of professors.” Lyra joked as she began to lead the way. “Anyone that says food places first already gets bonus points.”
