Morgana Baudelaire's origins can be traced back to the bayou of Louisiana, where she spent her formative years. She tied the knot with Silas Baudelaire at a tender age, and shortly thereafter, they welcomed their son, Joey (Roman). Joseph, affectionately known as Joey, held an irreplaceable place in her heart. However, her world turned bleak when her beloved spouse, Silas, began subjecting her and their sons to mistreatment. During her final pregnancy, her health deteriorated drastically, leaving her incapacitated. It was Joey who shouldered the responsibilities of running the household, tending to her, and looking after his siblings. Even after giving birth, her fragile state persisted, prompting Joey to continue his caretaking duties.

When Joey reached the age of ten, an ancestor emerged, presenting Morgana with an opportunity for a fresh start. Given her frail physical condition and the mental toll of the abuse, she made the difficult decision to seize this chance. Regrettably, her departure meant leaving her sons behind, a choice driven by her own needs. Nevertheless, she never forgot Joey and her other children. Despite her longing to return, the shame she felt proved to be a formidable barrier.

"Oh, it's fiiine, I'll just drag it to the bike and tie it to the back of it," the girl announced and waved as she put down the box and looked over the woman. She had found herself very much surrounded by vampires in her personal life lately and she wondered if she was just starting to notice because of the girls or perhaps Greywood was having an increase in its population. She found she didn't mind it anyway.

"Oh, well it's good to meet you. I'm not sure I've heard about you though, I'm sorry. And I'll be turning twenty four soon, so... it depends I suppose?"

Morgana chuckled and assured, "I'll definitely remember it." Little did she know, there was a burgeoning vampire community, and as far as she knew, she hadn't encountered any other vampires yet. She held out hope that this would change in the future.

"Absolutely," she responded with a nod. "I'm here for you. Your parents were an incredible source of support for me during the time when my husband, or should I say, ex-husband, was… well, whatever happened is no longer relevant." She smiled gently, lost in reminiscence of the past.

The sound of her voice nearly caused him to crack, he remembered it like it was yesterday.  “There is nothing you need to tell me,” he grumbled trying to push away from the bar and leave.  Yet, she blocked part of his exit route.  At the mention of his father, he pulled away from her.  His father was one figure he wished to leave in his past and never think about for the rest of his life.  Unfortunately he had the scars that reminded him everyday who his father was and where he came from.

“You left your children with a monster and became one yourself, leave me the fuck alone.”

With those words, he managed to stand up although he had several drinks and he made a beeline towards the door wanting to put as much space between the two of them.

Morgana stood there, her eyes welling up with a sharp, piercing pain that felt like a blow from her husband all over again. She had always tried to shield Joey from her husband's wrath, but it seemed that her protective instincts had been forgotten as soon as she left the room.

As conflicting emotions swirled within her, she struggled to identify a single one. Was it guilt, anger, or sorrow? Whatever it was, it weighed heavily upon her. The temptation to flee and never return tugged at her, yet she made a determined choice. She slipped a note with her address into Joey's pocket. This was her home in Greywood, and she was determined to face whatever lay ahead.

Recognizing that Joey likely had no desire to speak with her, she respected his emotions. However, she refused to avoid him. Embracing a newfound lease on life, she resolved to grasp it wholeheartedly.

Finally, she turned to Joey, and with her eyes alight, she reached out to him, instantly bringing him to sobriety without a word from him. "Drinking doesn't suit you, Joey," she said softly. "You should consider giving it up."

The library has always been Morgana's sanctuary. During her pregnancies, when she was confined to bed, she sought solace in the world of books. Slowly making her way to the library, she carefully selected a book and then returned to her bed, where she was transported to different realms through the power of storytelling. Despite the physical challenges she faced, the stories provided her with much-needed comfort and distraction. After reuniting with Joey and Gabriel, Morgana made the decision to remain in town, close to her beloved boys.

"Hello, I'm in search of love novels set in a specific time period, but I've exhausted Jane Austen's works. Do you have any recommendations?" she asked with a chuckle.

greywood was a foreign place to olusola now, despite spending much of her younger years her, the woman had forgotten so much of the place. or, in her absence, had it simply changed? a few older members, some immortals had welcomed her back, remembering the little witch without magic fondly.

it felt lonely, though, despite the memories of others she didn't really have her own. even her brother felt like a stranger, the only thing occupying her time and thoughts was her placement. without someone breathing down her back, sola had even begun to wonder if it's what she truly wanted, to be a nurse...

two people lost in their own thoughts collided, olusola's stanley cup clanking loudly to the ground, the lid popping off and spilling her smoothie all over the floor. fan-fucking-tastic.

"that was the last of my dragonfruit," there was a genuinely melancholic edge to her voice. "in that smoothie," the apology wasn't heeded, dark eyes simply observing the growing pink splodge on the ground.

Morgana was filled with deep remorse for accidentally colliding with the woman, particularly because the woman seemed visibly upset by the incident. "I'm so sorry. I should have been more mindful of my surroundings. I made a sudden turn and didn't mean to bump into you," she offered her apology. The encounter triggered memories of her husband; if he had been present, she might have endured physical mistreatment.

Nevertheless, she had grown stronger and was no longer the vulnerable woman who couldn't stand up for herself. Still, she had no desire to provoke a confrontation with the woman.

"Can I make it up to you? Maybe I could treat you to a delightful cup of tea, or I could reimburse you for the dragonfruit in your smoothie so you can remake it, or…" Her voice trailed off as she struggled to think of ways to ease the other person's distress.

Matthew felt the edge of his mouth turn up in a quick smirk when she spoke, "Yeah, no, it's fine. I'm used to it," he replied automatically. He'd worked with vampires as a donor for years now that he felt more comfortable around the undead than he did with the living. What he didn't understand yet was why he felt that he knew her, especially since she said she'd just come back to town. "When's the last time you were here?" He asked her, "I used to work at the vampire lounge," he offered as a start to his explanation, the implication that they could have met back then when he'd been working there depending on how long it had been since she'd been to Greywood last.

She smiled and nodded, feeling a wave of relief wash over her as she saw that he wasn't as taken aback by her confession as she had feared. She was growing more comfortable in Matthew's presence, despite realizing she didn't truly know who he was – a member of her family. "It's hard to believe it was forty years ago," she confided. "I doubt you were around at the vampire lounge back then. Are you still working there?" she asked with a gentle, yet confident tone.

That's exactly what someone from a dream would say, Gabriel wanted to argue stubbornly, but he couldn't. His mother, someone he thought was dead for so many decades, was alive and well. Well, as alive as a vampire could be. But she was here, standing in front of him, telling him she was always around.

"It would have been easier. You should have been around, for both of us." This argument no longer made any sense. She could apologize to him for as much as she wanted to, but nothing would change the fact that Morgana wasn't there to see her sons grow up. Nothing would change the fact that both Gabe and Joey suffered for so many years.

But none of it mattered. Feeling her caress his cheek was enough for Gabe to break down, tears threatening to appear in the tough big-city-lawyer's eyes. He didn't care, however. "You were dead. Gone." His voice cracked as he ran out of arguments, repeating the same thing over and over again.

There was only so long that Gabe could stand back. Dropping his guard and potentially making a huge mistake, the man stepped forward, wrapping his arms around his mother. It felt surreal, an old dream come true, but her scent was the same, it really was her. And even if this was some wicked set up or a terrifying nightmare, Gabriel didn't care, simply happy to hold his mother for a moment or two.

Morgana felt a surge of heartache as she gazed at her shattered Gabriel, who was in despair after believing that his parental figure had passed away. She shook her head, whispering softly, "Gone but not dead, and I have been near, just not close enough to watch you grow." She hadn't strayed too far - initially, she went to Venice, but afterward, she settled in a town near Greywood, or at least that's what she believed.

"Gabriel," she murmured, drawing close to him. "Mommy loves you so deeply, do you understand? I never stopped loving you."

She provided him with the space to be vulnerable before her. Unlike her husband, Morgana believed that men should be able to show their emotions without fear of retribution.

"How have you fared in these past years? Tell me everything I've missed."

This wasn't right. He knew his mother was gone, he had grieved her, he had dreamt of seeing her again one day. He spoke to her in his dreams, wishing that there could come a day when he could simply tell her about his day in person. That day never came, and it wasn't bound to happen; so to see her standing here, looking the same as the day he lost her, was surreal.

Gabriel wanted to argue but his words were left stuck in the back of his throat as Morgana's hand went up to his cheek. It felt surreal, getting to experience that painfully familiar touch once more. He had sworn he had forgotten all of it, but as he melted into his mother's touch, almost leaning into it, he was reminded of the memories he didn't know he had.

"You're a dream. This can't be real." He still wasn't willing to face the reality, even if all the signs were there. "I know you're-" And it hurt to say that she had died all those years ago. Here he was, a man over fifty years old, reduced to the mentality of a child who had missed his mom. "You made us believe you were dead."

Her heart ached as she gazed at her son, shattered by her absence. She fought to control her emotions, clutching her chest in an effort to steady her emotions. Her gentle smile softened her anxious features as she whispered, "I'm not a dream, Gabe."

She understood his incredulity at seeing her before him. "I was never gone, Gabe, but watching you mourn for me… a part of me wondered if it would have been easier," she confessed, her smile fading as she felt the weight of causing her children to suffer without her.

"I'm deeply sorry, Gabe. I couldn't bear to risk causing you and Joey pain," she said earnestly, regret weighing heavily in her voice. "Gabriel, I've longed to be with you." She gently caressed his cheek still, holding him so he could take a good look at her.

"I'm here to stay, and I'll never allow anyone to hurt you ever again, not even myself."

Kat had sneaked in her parents garage earlier in the day, checking if she can actually organize the band thing like Tony had asked a while ago but she had never really had time to do so. She had found herself buried in boxes and decided to take at least a few stuff back to her sister's home. She had heard that her parents had guests so she hadn't really wanted to intrude right now, focused on the new task she'd found for herself, and so she had just been comin out from under the half opened garage door when someone greeted her. She put a hand on her sweaty forehead and grinned. "Oh, hi! Hi, yea, the one and only, promise I'm not robbing my folks, " she said

Morgana chuckled softly and said, "Are you sure you don't need help?" With a confident smile, she continued, "I want to assure you that I'm quite strong, especially with my enhanced vampire abilities. I could lift a car if I wanted to."" She said while leaning towards the garage frame, she made sure not to put too much pressure since that might lead it to get dented.

"It's nice to finally meet you, when I was my human age you weren't even born yet, at least I think so."

Hunched over at the bar, Roman was nursing his glass of whiskey as he stared down into the amber liquid.  Things have not been going well in his life for awhile.  The children with Carina were not going well, Dario was now a teenager wanting to spend time with his friends over the weekend.  Only thing keeping him going besides the whiskey was Lorelei, but he was sure he would mess that up soon enough.

While all these things were running through his head, his hair on his neck stood up as he heard a familiar voice.  A voice he had not heard since he was a child causing his eyes to water.  Fear struck him at first, terrified to look over.  However, curiosity got the best of  him and he turned his head slightly to see a woman who resembled his mother.

A gasp left his lips as he turned away, trying his best to swallow down his emotions so he could make a beeline towards the door.

The touch of an arm halted his movement, urging him to remain in place. "Joey," she murmured, "I need to tell you something." Gracefully, she settled beside him at the bar, her previous frailty contrasting sharply with her current poise.

"I was on the verge of death, and then…" Her voice faltered as she relived the memory. "An ancestral figure appeared and offered me a new chance at life." She shook her head. "I was already deeply scarred by your father's cruelty…but I yearned to live." Tears filled her eyes as she gazed at him.

"After everything, I grew terrified of harming my own children, so I had to leave. I had transformed into a monstrous version of myself…" She still grappled with the feeling of being a monster, unable to shake off the knowledge of abandoning her children, despite her noble intentions.

Matthew let out a soft grunt at being bumped into but automatically started to respond, "It's fine," without really looking at who had done the colliding into him, mostly focused on not dropping what he'd been carrying. He'd come from the farmer's market and so had a tote full of some fresh produce and a coffee in his hand, no matter the time of day he was prone to drinking coffee, something to ease the jitters in his hands that came with detoxing from nicotine and the pain medicine he'd been withholding from taking. "You okay?" He asked the woman, now looking up at her and was suddenly struck with the most intense feeling of recognition. He knew her face. "I know you?" He half asked and half stated, not sure where he knew her from but he just knew that he did.

"I'm feeling alright," she murmured softly, her concern evident for the other person. "I sincerely hope I didn't hurt you in any way. I can be a bit intense at times, and I feel as cold and lifeless as the undead."

"You seem to have some recognition of me," she observed, tilting her head with curiosity. "I've only recently returned to this town, so I'm not entirely sure where you might have encountered me before?"

"No." Was the first thing that came out of Gabriel's mouth as he continued to stare at the woman. She matched his memory of his mother perfectly, down to the same shade of her hair and the sparkle in her eyes. Even the tone the woman used on him made him pause and react in a way he didn't really react anymore, almost made him want to straighten up and stand a little better.

"No. You're not. You're not my mother." That had to be some sick joke. And yet, at the back of his mind, he kept thinking that maybe, just maybe, it wasn't. Weirder things have happened in his life, but to think that the woman standing in front of him was his mother was unbelievable. She was dead, she died a long time ago. She missed him and his brother growing up, she missed seeing them fall apart, and... would any of that had happened if she was around? Would they have been different?

He couldn't think about it. Gabriel simply shook his head, standing still as he watched the woman he craved to know was his mother. "You're not my mother." His tone was a little softer now. "You don't get to approach me like that."

"Indeed," she softly uttered, allowing the weight of each word to permeate the air, embracing the solemn truth and the heavy burden of betrayal that followed.

"I am your mother, Gabe, Gabriel." With tender care, she ran her fingers along his cheek, just as she had in his troubled childhood, soothing him with the same gentle touch that once dried his tears.

"I am your mother," she reiterated. "I was turned into a vampire when I was on the brink of death. I wandered as one for a considerable span of time before I finally felt secure enough to reach out and reconnect with you."

Uriel wasn't watching where he was going, as usual. He'd been out walking the gardens again, and now, he was going home. He always found it hard to see at night. Something about the glare from headlights and streetlights made it hard for him to see when people were in his way.

The woman he collided with was surprisingly cold to the touch. She reminded him of his vampire clients from work. He reached out to steady her, although he was unsure if it was necessary.

"No, it was completely my fault." He shot her a grin. "I shouldn't be out after dark. I can never see anything. Maybe that'll teach me a lesson about staying in the garden all day."

"Oh? Are you a gardener by chance?" Morgana was taken aback by the stranger's unexpected revelation about gardening. It reminded her of her friend Sofia Mieux, who possessed an exceptional talent for nurturing plants, even the most challenging ones. Many in Greywood speculated whether Sofia's green thumb was a magical ability, but she always dismissed such notions, choosing instead to showcase her skills as a projector.

In contrast, Morgana saw herself as a healer, though she hadn't yet mastered the art of physical healing. She did, however, possess the ability to alleviate pain.

Feeling a bit flustered for not apologizing earlier, Morgana acknowledged her lapse in etiquette. She realized she had jumped into questioning the stranger without extending the courtesy of an apology for their collision.

"Sorry, I should have apologized for bumping into you first before asking you questions, where were my manners."

Morgana had developed a strong bond with the Baxter parents, who had provided her with invaluable support during her initial pregnancy. Despite the three decades that had elapsed and their altered appearances, she still harbored deep feelings of affection and support for them. As she made her way outside, she unexpectedly encountered Katherine.

"Ah, you must be Katherine. I've been regaled with stories about you from your parents," she remarked warmly.

Whoever said that living in a small town was easy was an idiot, and clearly wrong. That was the least that Gabe thought as he attempted to figure out everything he needed in order to open his own practice. It wasn't just that; adapting to different paces, to different experiences was difficult, and if it wasn't for the man being ridiculously stubborn, he knew he would have moved back to NYC almost immediately. But giving up meant hurting his own ego, and Gabriel could never do that.

He was so lost in his own thoughts, already planning on ways he would tell off his assistant that he didn't even realize that someone was calling out his name. Not many people were willing to call him Gabe in the first place, not with his status, and it was certainly one of the reasons he wasn't paying attention. His mind was quickly brought back to reality when someone pulled him back onto the pavement. What made him freeze, however, was the painfully familiar stern voice. It was the kind of voice he only heard briefly in dreams, more like a whisper, something he sometimes doubted was real in the first place.

"Who the hell do you think you-" Gabe was quick to react as he turned around, ready to lash out at the stranger, only to be met by a face he saw in his dreams. Even then, it felt like that face he knew was distorted, messed up by the various memories he could no longer recall properly. Still, the man froze, his own face turning pale as he stared into his mother, just as young as the day he lost her, his mouth open to finish the sentence stuck in his throat.

In a quaint, tight-knit town where gossip spread like wildfire, Morgana had mastered the art of hiding in plain sight for many years. However, now she had finally returned, hoping to mend the broken bond with her sons. She was well aware that winning over Roman would be an uphill battle, but she held onto the hope that Gabriel, who had always been her confidant, would be more receptive.

"Morgana Baudelaire," she declared with a touch of vulnerability evident in her voice as she observed Gabriel's initial response. She could perceive the astonishment reflected in his eyes.

"Gabe," she murmured softly, taking in the sight of her son whom she hadn't seen in decades, "how have you been?" She was a ghost from his distant past, and she longed for a chance to bridge the chasm of time and separation between them.
