Who: Leonie & Katherine
Where: going to the museum with their dogs, stopped by vamp cafe
When: sometime in March?
Status: abandoned
Léonie Monet: Léonie felt a little bit nervous about this. Meeting randomly at the library and talking about books for a while was one thing, but spending a few hours together? She thought she was way too awkward for this, but she couldn't cancel now. Not when Katherine had seemed so excited about it. She got ready and then took Wanda and Cosmo to the library. They barely had time to talk when they arrived, she went in first and then when it was Katherine's turn to go take the book, she waited outside with the dogs who already seemed to like each other. ''Hi! It seems like they're already becoming best friends.'' She said, enthusiastically when she exited the library with the book. She gave her Yellow's leash back and started walking towards what she assumed was the museum. ''So, do you go there often?''
Katherine Baxter: Sadly for Katherine waking up whenever she wanted wasn’t an option anymore with the puppy needing to be outside as soon as it woke up otherwise there was a mess on the floor in Liv’s living room and she had to clean it before she saw and went crazy over it and the desire to keep her home pristine. So she was a bit grumpy sometimes when she couldn’t get the sleep she needed. But right now she put it to the side and drank a few cups of coffee for breakfast, excited to meet up with the new girl and talk all day about Greywood history. Following her lead once they saw each other in front of the library with a quick hello before she went in and left the dogs with her and then they switched, she quickly went inside when she got out to get the book before the librarian could put it anywhere near the shelves. she put it in her backpack, happy to get her hands on it at last, appreciating the fact that it was an old copy and she wasn’t buying a new print which would ruin the whole idea of it. “Oh, that’s because Yellow has my personality. It’s very hard to not like him. All the dogs want to be her friends” Katherine joked as she took the leash, the puppy strutting funnily in front of them. She walked beside her, walking in the correct direction so far. “In the museum? Not anymore, but I used to hang out there a lot when I was younger. It’s a beautiful place at all times of year. And the owners get artefacts from all over the world I’m there.”
Léonie Monet: She laughed when she started comparing hers dog’s personality to her own. She had heard that pets often had their human’s personality, but that was definitely taking it to a whole new level. "So you’re saying it’s very hard to not like you and that everyone wants to be your friend?" she asked, smile on her face. "That sounds very cool, I can’t wait to see it," she then said about the museum. she was talking so highly of it, she was more and more curious.
Katherine Baxter: Katherine grinned at her question and shrugged exaggeratedly. “Oh, yes, you can ask half the town. Though I’m fighting for the friendliest Baxter position with my sister Liv and my brother Tony”, she announced, making sure to be objective, as usual. “It’s only around a 15 minute walk. Do you want coffee too? There’s a good shop around the corner there.”
Léonie Monet: "I won’t be doing that, but I totally trust it." She joked. "Olivia Baxter?" She asked curiously. "Oh…I probably should’ve told you, I’m a vampire." her question made her realize she didn’t know. She was still new in town and wasn’t used to it being so normal. It made her stop in her step, as if Katherine would tell her they couldn’t hang out anymore because of that.
Katherine Baxter: “Good, you should. I’m an honest person as well.” she said and then nodded at her question on her sister’s full name. she slowed down and stopped as well and rose her brows at her worried expression. “That’s cool! Maybe we can swing by the hospital later then instead of a cafe now, if you want?” she asked, unbothered
Léonie Monet: ''We'll see!'' She knew she was joking, but she still was struggling with trusting people so she wouldn't just agree with him. ''She's a friend of mine, well, a new friend since we only met each other a few weeks ago. She's sweet.'' The Baxter family was really a nice bunch because she seemed to only easily get close to them. ''Oh- Okay. We can still get coffee for you.'' She felt reassured and continued walking.
Katherine Baxter: “Oh, why am I not surprised she’s already met you. She’s the most social person I know and that’s a hard battle for the first spot,” she joked, knowing perfectly well her sister was a very bubbly person that was hard to not adore. Following Leonie’s step, she started walking again, tugging Yellow once to usher her away from whatever she was sniffing. “Yea, and we can ask if they have anything that can cater to you. Half the places in town offer shots added to the drinks. And then hospital for later”
Léonie Monet: "I don’t know many people yet, but I would have to say the same thing." She nodded, easily agreeing. "But it seems like you would be right behind her in that competition. I couldn’t approach someone as easily as you did with me the other day. I definitely wouldn’t have been bold enough to ask for their number." She called her out in a way, but definitely didn’t mean to. She was only comparing.
"Really?" She assumed the only thing she would ever consume would be bagged blood. She didn’t think she could ever have anything else, she didn’t really go around town enough to find that out. "We can try to find a place like that then…"
Katherine Baxter: she laughed at her benign accusation and raised her shoulders, pausing for a second while Yellow lagged back sniffing at the greenery sprouting from the sidewalk. “Well, when you’re the youngest child of five you have to learn to be pushy.” she grinned at her, rarely uncomfortable around others. “And yea, a lot of the places here accommodate the vampires and the werewolves. Let me just text my friend and see if she knows the best spot,” she said as she held out a hand to pull at her elbow so they could stop and she could text in peace not hitting anyone.
Léonie Monet: "Oh, I bet it's a wild ride growing up with four siblings. Did you enjoy it?" she inquired with genuine curiosity, sensing her affection for her family and eager to delve into the topic. Her smile widened as she realized, "I had no idea!" It seemed like maybe, just maybe, she could find some semblance of normalcy in this town after all. Pausing in their walk, she seized the chance to lean down and lavish some affection on the furry companions at her feet.
Katherine Baxter: “Honestly, it’s all I know so I wouldn’t want anything else.” she smiled as she texted Bailey to ask her if the best coffee place where they can accommodate the request for added blood in. As usual, she was chatty so it took some time but in the end, she had “Pouty Bat Face Vamp Cafe” in her navigation. “One of the few places in the country that are mostly supernatural and no one hides. It’s pretty dope,” she said as she looked up from the phone. “I have the place. Should be a good one”
Léonie Monet: Leonie: She nodded her head, understanding what she meant. A bond between siblings was a really strong one and she wouldn’t change it anything in the world either. "That’s a real name?" She raised an eyebrow at that, almost thinking she was pulling a prank on her, but then she clearly added it to her phone so they could find it. That was definitely original. "It’s still so strange to me. I feel like I should still be hiding, but then everyday people think it’s totally normal here. And now apparently I can even go to a coffee shop?" She couldn’t stop the smile that was growing on her face as they started walking towards that new place.
Katherine Baxter: “I think it is. It’s absurd, but nothing can surprise me.” she grinned, having thought thought Bailey was joking with her at first. But maps weren’t lying. As they started walking with the dogs trailing them and wagging their tails she thought about it. For him, the supernatural had been part of her life ever since she was a baby. Despite not knowing magic she had found it weird to be away from it for 5 years. “Yea, I can see how it can be difficult to accustom yourself if you haven’t had it before. But I promise, even if you walk with a blood bag you might get a few stares but no will question it.” she laughed.
Léonie Monet: ''Honestly, it surprised me, but you're right, it's really not the most absurd thing I've seen in this town.'' She didn't add anything for a while, but then she turned towards her curiously. ''Were you there when the whole storm happened? Some people claimed the ground just…opened underneath their feet and stairs appeared?'' She did feel the ground shake when it happened, but she didn't know what was true and what wasn't. ''Wow, okay. It's all very new, but I think I like it?''
Katherine Baxter: “I think that might be some of the smaller faeries. They’re doing weird stuff sometimes.” she suggested and then continued silently, letting her gather her thoughts and looking behind to make sure Yellow wasn’t trudging. She still didn’t have the stamina for long. “Yea, my brother and sister went down there. It was just a weird tunnel with some biblical things at the end of it. I think Liv was too scared and Tony was too stoned to care about it though. My sister Amy had like a scroll from it, I’ve read up and it seems like it was a strange escape room type of quest.” she spoke quickly as she leaned down to pick up the puppy in her arms so she wouldn’t get too tired and fall asleep ok the ground when they reached a place to sit for a bit. “And that’s good. It’s a nice place to live, really. Little not to like”
Léonie Monet: ''Are they?'' She raised an eyebrow, she didn't know most of the species as of now. She had met a few vampires like her, some witches, and her neighbor who was a siren, but that was it. She was really interested in her next story, finally someone who wasn't just sharing random rumours without knowing the truth. ''A quest? That's interesting. Now I wish I went down there.'' She had been too busy hiding herself from the rest of the residents, but that was a story for another day. She sat down next to him, Cosmo sitting on the bench with them while Wanda was busy exploring around them. ''Sounds like it is. A small town where everyone knows everyone and it's pretty in my opinion…What do you like to do most in this town? Or just in your free time, I guess?'' She asked curiously.
Katherine Baxter: "Oh, yea, they're small so sometimes I think they think they're invisible. My mom blames them for Tony's affinity to weed," she grinned thinking back to her childhood and the weirdness Greywood could introduce sometimes. "Honestly, we had a bit of an issue with an almost deadly corn maze on Halloween so I had to skip the Christmas extravaganza. But it wasn't much. Three people went in different walls and then came out without items. I haven't really talked to any of them to know what's happened," she said, rubbing her chin thinking that she should have done so with Sol at some point, considering how much time they spent together. "Oh, the everyone knowing everyone and everything part can be a bit much. But you get used to it. I usually wander until I decide what to do. The library has great collections as you have noticed. Also, the parks are nice to lie down in and read or sit down and play some guitar. Most of the bars are fun if you're into it. And there's cool trails around the woods, I prefer sticking to the town though. It depends on what you're looking for."
Léonie Monet: ''I bet many people don't notice them,'' she didn't know how small she meant, but she knew it was easy to not notice something small wandering around, especially when they were experts in the art of hiding. ''To weed? How would the faeries be responsible?'' That made her raise an eyebrow, but she looked a bit amused. It was funny to realize how moms could be even in this supernatural town. ''Seems like a lot happens in this town,'' She didn't know if she wanted to know more about this deadly corn maze. At least, she wasn't going out too much, maybe she would've been able to avoid it if she was already in town at the time. ''You play guitar?'' She interrupted curiously, she always loved music, listening to it and watching people play. ''I will be sticking to the town…and I don't really like bars, but that's about it. I should try reading at the park someday.''
Katherine Baxter: “Oh, I think they’re probably too used to them to notice them now and just don’t see them most of the time” she said thoughtfully and then shook her head and continued smiling as they followed the navigation. “Oh you know, moms can blame anything for anything,” she didn’t mean it in a bad way, but she knew if it wasn’t technology here it was the faeries or something from their realm. “Oh don’t worry about it, we always live to tell the tale,” she assured her, looking around as the navigation beeped that they were close. “I do, I’m not great but I know my way with it and a few other things,” she said with a shrug, as usual minimizing what she actually knew, so used to doing it that it was second nature. She scratched Yellow’s head as she put her over her shoulder for a second as she opened the door of the coffee shop for them. “And understandable about the bars. Maybe the arcade then, if you like bowling and stuff like that. We also have an ice rink in winter”
Léonie Monet: "Now I want to see them, I’m going to be looking around all the time because of you," she said with a little laugh, as if she wasn’t already looking over her shoulder for very different reasons. Maybe now Katherine wouldn’t assume she was insane. She would simply think she was looking out for the little faeries. "They definitely can. My mom would always blame my phone for anything that happened to me. If I had a stomach ache? It was definitely because I was too much on my phone! Which wasn’t even true, but you know, moms." She wasn’t actually being petty over this, she had a small smile on her lips, and she was more amused than anything else. "I’m sure you’re great," she didn’t know her enough yet to try and push the topic. But when she would get to know that she was often minimizing her achievements she definitely wouldn’t be supporting it. "I love skating! Now I’m gonna be impatiently waiting for next summer!" She always preferred the colder seasons, but she didn’t really get to enjoy the past winters. she was really making her see this city differently. She was actually looking forward to things now. She walked in the coffee shop. The first thing she did was looking at the menu, smiling even more when she saw that they were actually selling drinks with blood in them. She hadn’t smiled like that in years probably. "How am I supposed to choose just one? I want to try them all."
Katherine Baxter: she laughed at her statement and looked around to make sure there weren’t any around she can point to. But they were usually in the city itself once spring was officially here and everything bloomed. “If I spot some at the museum I’ll make sure to point them out.” she assured her and nodded at her statement though for their family it had been other things as only Tony was into computers and phones, the others mostly focusing on other things. “Nah, just pulling strings for fun” she said with a wave of her hand. “And I have a friend who’s great at skating. I can introduce you if she wants, sadly I don’t get the physics behind balancing on blades.” she joked. she had tried this winter a few times with Oreo but balancing wasn’t her strong suit. She preferred the sports where she could just get in and start running. she looked over at the menu, glad that actually the drinks came without the special additions as well. “Honestly, just for the name I’ll see if they have the human version of the Late Lestat,” she grinned, keeping Yellow in her arms so she wouldn’t disturb other visitors.
