As I was saying to Kate, I do feel like Helena has a soft spot for the young girls at the carnival <3 I'm not sure how much she knows about Morgan, but I do think the it is clear that she's not as carefree as say, the Hawthorne girls, and that her life has not always been easy. And while I haven't figured out all of Helena's backstory pre her Silver Cross days, I do think that she looks as those as the best time of her life which really says something to how she grew up aslkfjsdlafj and yeah, I do think she can sympathize with Morgan in that regard.

That being said, Helena is rather materialistic and so her love language is definitely gift giving and I feel like when Morgan first came to the carnival, she would occasionally try to give her teas and books and anything she thought she might like! And even something a little more expensive on special occasions, too, which is honestly a big deal for Helena!

I'm not sure what Morgan would think of Helena though, especially now? I feel like she's lost a lot of friends lately (can't imagine why!) so even if they were once on good terms, I can see where they wouldn't be now!

Also, she probably can sympathize with Morgan's plan to try to find a wealthy benefactor (idk that she knows this is her plan but!), however she definitely would not take kindly if they ever tried to go after the same one alsdkjfldsfk

So I actually think Morgan may have been one of the people to fall on the side of Helena in the great Helena v Lydia Schism? Like I'm looking back over who I connected her with and like.... she's not deeply connected to anyone who would have fallen on Lydia's side, so like, I can def see a world where Morgan is like: "I mean, what did she actually do wrong? Quentin is the one that made the conscious decision to cheat on his wife. It wasn't a good idea to keep secrets from Lydia, but I can see why she would - it's Quentin's responsibility to admit to the affair...." (Morgan as a secrets girlie like: SECRETS ARE TOTALLY FINE AND OKAY, RIGHT???) So I'm kind of thinking that they're probably on fairly decent terms? Esp since I think I said that the divide happened 3 to 4 years ago, which is like.... when the Durie siblings showed up. Hahaha. I wonder then if Helena giving gifts to Morgan was partially being her love language and maybe partially a need to like.... keep Morgan on her side? Like, I think Morgan def is swayed by material things (deep "wouldst thou like to live deliciously" vibes with my bb Morgan!) so she would be entranced by the like little trinkets and would probably display them in her lil séance tent. I'm also not sure exactly how much Morgan has told Helena about her past - she does talk about the fire as a thing that happened that killed their parents, but doesn't talk about her fears that she summoned something that started it. Beyond that she kind of talks about her past as something inconsequential, Lucian did the heaviest lifting to make sure they all survived and she did parlor tricks to kind of help things along.

I do think though that Helena is maybe one of the few people that Morgan HAS told about her plan to nab a wealthy husband? Mostly because Morgan would be like: "Well, Helena did it once. Even though it didn't exactly work out for her, that could have just been a fluke/not her fault, I could probably still learn from her!" So I think she's probably told her but swore Helena to absolute secrecy about it, knowing that Lucian would ABSOLUTELY not approve!!

ok so like...i would venture that high priestess/magician probs indicates like...making ur gut reaction actionable/turning it into reality and translating innate understanding of mysteries out of the realm of ideas and into the physical world???? and/or like...delving into hidden potential basically? and the reverse is basically the opposite? all i could really find was a write up abt the cards as representing two lovers: [ "a match made in heaven best describes connubial bliss of a duo that moves through the world with the grace of dance partners Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. The active yang principle of the Magician meets with the receptive yin of The High Priestess like a hand fits into a glove. Each of you instinctively understands how to complement the other. but anyway!! irregardless of that, moving beyond ~that discussion, i do think morgan is probs someone that thea has a lot of compassion for! she has clearly been through a whole lot and, whether or not thea knows the details, she'd probs like tohelp her heal if she can. i def think she views the circus as her lil family and wants the best for them all, ultimately, and morgan is def part of that!!

I'm really loving the bits of like: "the Priestess knows how to execute the Magician's grand schemes" and "learning that there's strength in softness / learning that it's actions not words that show affection."

It makes me think that maybe Morgan and Thea are like each others hype women, that they talk CONSTANTLY about their acts and are always like: "how can we make this better, more interesting, become more than what we are now."

Also this made me immediately think that maybe Thea and Morgan become kind of little pranksters when they're together? Like they get talking about how to make their acts better and wanna try out something before adding it, so they use whatever trick to prank someone else in the circus? (Morgan probably always suggests Tom, ngl. Hahaha.) I also think it's very true that Morgan will probably come to learn from Thea, over time, that just because something tragic happened to her in the past and she is obsessed with becoming strong so she can't ever hurt her family again, doesn't mean she has to remain aloof and melancholy and distant. That there's strength in kindness and light as well! Which I think is something Morgan is currently resistant to hearing, but I can see her eventually coming around to the idea!

And like, maybe Thea learns from Morgan how to push past the illusion, past the façade of things to reach for its heart/soul/ghost inside of people/things and see their truths? I'm spitballing a little, but I'm interested in your thoughts!

so as ive said elsewhere i dont think that morgan's spooky vibes bother ernest at all! in fact, i def think he's def here for all the found family vibes, and thinks morgan's pr cool! i think he's def more the sort to be cheerily all like 'say, mor, if you happen to see my mam say hello from me!' re her communion w ghosts. to him, the dead aren't scary, they're just ppl like anyone else, some good and some bad, and he thinks its really cool that she can reach out to them! she just has a more varied acquaintance than the rest of the living hahaha

i do think he's got a protective big bro kinda thing going w some of the younger/newer members, such as the hawthornes and morgan, more so than some of the others. i mean, you mess w anyone in the circus you mess w him, but idk i think he just feels like morgan has been through enough, dammit! let her liveeeeee!

The way that I know Morgan gets a lil teary when Ernest is so casually like "Ah, so did Mam come say hello? Isn't she the sweetest?" about the ghosts. Like she had gotten so used to people thinking her at worst an abomination and at best someone to be avoided lest they themselves become haunted - so for him to treat her so normally is just!!! She appreciates it more than she can say!!!! It's also so funny that Morgan has collected yet ANOTHER protective big brother as she already rolls her eyes enough at her own biological brothers (ESPECIALLY Lucian) when she's like: "I am an Adult, I can Take Care of Myself, Thank You!!!" But at the same time, if something ever went really wrong with a seance I know Morgan feels much better knowing Ernest would probably come running! That being said, I don't think she's actually told Ernest like everything she's either gone through or planned. Like obviously I think everyone knows about the fire, that's a given, and how the Durie family kind of did whatever was needed to get by. But I don't think she's divulged her plan to marry herself off, nor do I think she has told him that she's beginning to have Concerns about what happened the night of the fire or that she's hearing the whispers/seeing the dead even outside of seances. So there's def a little bit of Morgan's worst tendencies to lie and deflect going on with Ernest, but I'm interested to hear your thoughts on what he may or may not have intuited anyway or would have feelings about!

so violet adores morgan!! i also feel like, w violet's connection to the moon and morgan's connection to the afterlife and those twin spiritual motifs, they probs seem v different on the surface, but may have similar energies underneath it all? i do think violet spends some time tryna get her brain to overpower her heart (its not working!!) but when she's being her more genuine self i think these two have much more in common than it might appear to the casual observer! i also think violet has def lowkey adopted morgan as another sister bc, sure, she has brothers, but lord knows she could probably use some sister time!! violet knows firsthand that's the best thing there is <3 violet like 'you and me, angel, we're in this together' <3

Morgan absolutely has ingratiated herself with the Hawthorne sisters one-hundo percent. I think she always wanted sisters because, like you said, she loves her brothers to the ends of the earth, but it's NOT the same!!! So getting to have the experience of the sisters adopting here, I just!!! Morgan can hardly believe her luck. Plus, I think she enjoys being around them so much because Morgan is a fairly melancholy person, but the Hawthorne's light and kindness is so infectious that Morgan can't help but feel its warmth. But, I do also think that her melancholy is perhaps part of why Morgan feels closest to Violet out of the three sisters? They're very similar in being intuitive and perceptive, but also that they both have something of a front they put on for others. Violet trying to appear fearless, Morgan trying to appear cheery and that any potential concern anyone may have for her is unnecessary! (Don't think too hard about the voices she sometimes mutters to! A trick of the wind! Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahha) On the other hand, I think Morgan may have spilled the beans to Violet about her plan to try and get a rich patron to marry her in order to try and help take care of her brothers. Which I'm sure that Violet def understands that impulse, though I'm interested to hear what you think her reaction to hearing this plan would be! Morgan does have a tendency to be very tricksy and manipulative when she thinks someone is trying to dissuade her from her goals, so I can also see a possible rift that could occur if Violet tried to tell her it was a Bad Idea.

Their light feels like balm against her heart that feels so shadowed by the ghosts that won’t stop whispering in her ears. And it felt lovely to be around siblings that seemed actually comfortable together. *Henry Clemens is quite the opposite, though. He seems to be surrounded constantly by voices that drip off him in droves. It’s deafening to be around, yet the young man cannot seem to take no for an answer.
