@moria-ayres
“I'm sorry but h-how did you get in here?”
Nami shakes her head furiously from side to side, and follows it with a small raspberry noise. “It doesn’t sound glamorous but it’s still a big position!” She smiles up at Moria. “I enjoy your company too.”
Peter blinks blankly a few times. “W-wow.” He’s speechless and is desperately mentally grabbing at straws in trying to find a proper response. “Nami’s right. That’s a really, really impressive position. You must be very good at what you do.”
"I would hardly call coffee runs or delivering files impressive, but thank you Mr. Petrelli." There is an edginess to her voice that she tries to hide behind her smile, but she's almost sure it's noticeable anyways.
Nami gives Moria a big reassuring nod. “Mandatory attendance or not, Moria here is still one of the hardest workers I know! Are you working right now though? I don’t wanna be bothering you.”
“Wow,” Peter can’t help but show his surprise. “You just looked so young I didn’t even think you were one of the workers. –But then again Nami here is one of our best employees. What do you do in Nexus?”
“Oh, actually yes–But with the amount of people here I do require a few breaks here and there.” Her ability would always go into overdrive when she was around crowded places like this. “And you could never be a bother to me, Nami. I always enjoy your company.” She chuckles a little at Peter’s comment. “I suppose I am a bit young in my appearence. Though, my work is relatively insignificant compared to Nami’s. I’m merely Mr. Dexters personal assistant.”
Nami wraps her arms around Moria almost instantaneously when Moria came within hugging distance. “It’s so good to see you here. I thought I was gonna have to look everywhere for you.” She frowns a little to show Moria how just the thought of that made her upset. “Oh, Moria. This is my ‘uncle’ Peter Petrelli. Uncle Peter, this is my very very good friend Moria.”
“Hey there, Moria.” He’d shake her hand but Nami already has the girl in a death grip of a hug. Instead he settles for a small wave and a friendly grin. “Are you here for kicks or are you a big science fan as well?”
She gapes at Peter for a moment before composing herself quickly. “Y-Yes I know who you are, it’s nice to finally meet you.” Despite his friendly expression Moria couldn’t help but feel nervous in his presence, for various reasons. “Well um, a-actually as an employee I’m required to be here..”
“–Ah. Uncle Peter. Uncle Peter, look I think I see my friend there! I wanna introduce you to her!” Nami cups her hands around her mouth and calls out for her friend. “Moria!”
“Nami, don’t– Inside voice, Nami. It’s a bit more packed here than I imagined but we could’ve walked over to her.”
Moria’s attention it caught by the sound of Nami’s voice, drawing a smile out of her. “Nami!“ She gives a little wave in her direction, recognizing a vaguely familiar face trailing behind her as she approaches them.
@Moria
Damien had been told that he was needed for a crucial procedure because the previous professional had object to continue on moral grounds and that he was chosen because his ability and background left him uniquely suited to carrying it out. He was also ordered to tell no one that this procedure was taking place. All that was fine by him. He’d even arrived early with his clones to make sure everything had gotten set up and sterilized to his liking before his patient arrived. He was just examining one of the syringes he was expected to fill when he heard the door open and his patient entered the room. “Welcome. Please take a seat and I will try to make this as quick and painless as possible.”
No matter how many times she'd undergone these procedures she could never rid herself of her apprehensive state of mind when she came through the doors. It was always the same process, incessant poking and prodding, making her feel like just another disposable test subject rather than an actual human. Moria gave the man a curt nod and took her seat as instructed. She didn't recognize him as any of the regular scientists that would work on her, but she didn't ponder on it much. "Do whatever you must, the pain doesn't concern me. I can endure much worse than a needle."
Semi or Full hiatus: Full How long you’ll be away: Dunno, until I can afford internet again? Until I get my muse back? Who knows.. What your character/s will be up to during this time: Well got busy with work around the time we were suppose to post timeskip bios and then my internet got cut so can't really do anything without the bios, as for Moria she'll just be around as normal not doing anything important really.
¿Pensando en pajaritos preñados? [Caleb receives the papers she brought to him and quickly glances over them. Boring, boring, boring, something about the new post human ability...
Q-Que? No, sólo un poco cansada.. [She sighs softly.] Do you have everything in order?
What, you lost or something?
Sorry, I lost my train of thought for a moment. I actually came by to drop this off, here.
The party is finally over and everyone is making their way outside to leave, some stop for a smoke, others get in their fancy cars. But Darren, he waits on the steps, watching the stars and thinking about his life. A buzz of fictitious joy filled the air but he wasn’t fortunate enough to be part…
"Yes?" Moria can feel her grip tightning around the clutch in her hand unsure whether instinctive or out of pure anxiety at this point. He’s barely spoken a word to but she cant help the wave of nerves settling into the pit of her stomach. It wasn’t like her to just walk away and leave him but she doesn’t have the will power to turn around and face him, not when she knows her heart is weak. "I’m listening. ."
Hmm. It was fun! There are some parts that she would rather block out. Parts that keep replaying in her head but those moments don’t seem so bad in retrospect a little awkwardness didn’t dampen her night too much. I made some new friends and ran into some old friends. I enjoyed…
Um, hello? Moria pokes her head through the doorway, she could have sworn she heard a voice while waiting outside. Nami? She steps inside expecting to be greeted by her friend but is instead met by an unfamiliar face sitting on the living room floor. O-Oh, you have company over? Maybe I should have called first, how rude of me..
[Moria lets out a sigh.] I didn’t mean to sound so harsh. I’m not upset with you, if that’s what you’re thinking. I think it would be best if we forget about whole thing,yes? [She fidgets with the hem of her dress before trying to come up with an answer that won’t sound like a...
I'm not..upset with you, I'm upset with myself. [Moria confesses, she had to tell Nami the truth and make amends as soon as possible. It pained her to see her friend beating herself up over something that could have easily been avoided had she been honest with her from the start.] I-I would rather not talk about what happened between us..[Her stomach turns and she suddenly feels the urge to reach for one of the glasses the servers are walking past with. She notices Darren eyeing them as well which worries her a bit, she counts at least two drinks he's taken since their run in.] It was nice seeing you too..Be safe, okay?
Did I ever tell you the story of how Nami and I met? [Darren gives a sad chuckle before looking down and clearing his throat. He was starting to believe what people said about him. Without trying, the boy managed to single handedly ruin two people’s night in the matter of five minutes. Looking up, he listens to Moria— he can feel the bite of anger in her words. He deserved it.] I’m sorry, I was just — I didn’t want to mess up anything else for you. Especially a friendship. She would’ve found out eventually any way, so nobody is at fault here. It’s just a kind of messed up situation. [Scratching his head , Darren tries to make small talk] So have you been enjoying your night? Before this incident at least..
[Moria lets out a sigh.] I didn't mean to sound so harsh. I'm not upset with you, if that's what you're thinking. I think it would be best if we forget about whole thing,yes? [She fidgets with the hem of her dress before trying to come up with an answer that won't sound like a complete lie.She doesn't think it's the best moment to tell him about Jon leaving her alone to make small talk with some of his associates, only to be felt up and humiliated by them. Knowing Darren he would do something careless, like start a fight. She couldn't handle a situation like that, not on this night.] I only arrived just a few minutes ago, but for the time being I've been fine. What about you?
[Nami strokes Moria’s arm to comfort her.] It’s not your fault either, okay Mori? It’s none of my business and I shouldn’t have bothered Darren so much anyway. [She looks back and forth between Darren and Moria and knows that it was her time to move along. That’s what she’s good at anyway. A person like her has to know when her time is up.] I’ll still be around so if you wanna hang out a little later just text me! [She gives Moria a big hug and disappears into the crowd.]
Okay Nami, I will. [Moria smiles as she watches her go. She looks back at Darren then looks away, she can't bear to meet his eyes anymore, not when she can see he's hurting inside.] You don't have to make excuses for me, she's my friend, she would have understood. I just..didn't want to burden her, I can see that it was selfish on part now though.
[After thanking Nami for helping him recover from the shrimp that lodged itself in his esauphogus, Darren’s eyes were stuck on Moria. In a room full of hundreds of people, loud and crowded, it all seemed to drown out and focus on her. His palms began to sweat and he...
[Moria gives a weak smile in return to his compliment. At the mention of Nami her heart almost stops, realizing the situation she's put her friend in.] N-Nami, I should have told you. It was a selfish mistake. Please do not blame yourself, okay? [Too late she thinks, she can already see the guilt radiating off her. She lowers her voice to keep the conversation between them.] You don't have to stay, I will be fine by myself. [Moria turns her attention back to Darren.] I should have been the one to tell her, I'm sorry.
