Other Headcanon Notes: Roy has a complicated relationship with masculinity/masc presentation due to his upbringing on the res vs trying to conform to euro-centric Ideals, esp re: his hair
(Which is to say, Diné masculinity presents somewhat differently from the traditional american/european masculinity, and he's often torn between these ideals. My personal thoughts are that he is more comfortable with longer hair for the most part but cuts it when he's extremely stressed or self-conscious bcs he's trying to "fit in" to expectations & at least if he fits in then people probably aren't scrutinizing him too closely to see his problems underneath.)
What the Fandom Forgets About Them: He doesn't just use bows, & (like the rest of the arrows) does not have a strict no-kill rule. Guns and murder alone would not put him off. I mean, just look at how he still cares about Jade???
(Modernly a lot of the fandom has shifted to calling Jason "DC's Punisher" but pre-Flashpoint that's what they were saying about Roy in the post-Cry For Justice era. Now, yes, I'm not saying he goes around killing people willy-nilly, but there's a lot more nuance here and it's exhausting to see imagined character arguments where they refuse to acknowledge that Roy HAS a more complex view of the subject instead of parroting fanon Batman's opinions.)
