hi, this place is for my dc fanart, comic stuff i'm thinking about, and my nervous artist cowerings. if i don't get back to you, it's because im paralyzed with fear

and that's it. more below i guess!

Most posts are queued a day or 2 in advance. if i don't queue them, i'll never post them so i thank tumblr for relieving me the fear of pressing the post button

Feel free to make requests through asks but i can't guarantee i'll draw them or it might take a bit. i'll likely just draw them in-between other ideas. i appreciate, read and consider all of them though!!

There's this ms paint-esque quality to your art that I am absolutely in love with, so I want to know - how do you acheive that? Because beyond just keeping shading flat, I don't know how to do that, and you maintain that vibe even when your shading isn't flat. It's really impressive!! Keep up the gorgeous drawings!!

ah ty!! i feel like you just glimpsed into my soul; i learned how to draw digitally on ms paint. it's not intentional but I can see carryovers from ms paint to procreate

I don't use brush stabilization, my brushes are set to 100% opacity, and pressure reactivity set to low or none (this mimics the flat color, blunt ends and low line variation of ms paint art). i try to keep layers minimal, ideally done in 1 tbh, so my shading and base colors are usually together. if i make a mistake with shading, i just scribble over it with the base color. instead of undoing bad lines, i use the eraser or brush to shape things into acceptable territory (ms paint gave limited undos so i try not to rely too much on them)

and i don't really do a solid sketch. i figure out the drawing in color stages so there is a lot of line uncertainty in the final product.

you'll see every single mistakes i make hahaha but i like that. i mean it's human. my lines are shaky but that's bc they come from my unsteady hand. i think that gives it a ms paint feel

i think everyone has a version of gotham in their heads and i want to slowly draw mine...starting off with one of jason's safe houses.

in the comics it's super clean and modern but in my mind it's a bit industrial too. and no way it's going to be that neat if roy crashes there from time to time - i've seen how roy lives, i don't think he knows how to clean
