confessions
In the week that followed Changmin’s encounter with the Han Geng that was not the gege that he remembered and for so long missed, Changmin himself was hardly seen....in whatever ways a being like him could be seen. Moros had taken almost full reign and Changmin had hardly had a mind to fight him - not when his thoughts were spiralling ever deeper into the same darkness that had followed Geng’s mortal death. In their departed mortal world, newspapers and internet media outlets were digging for answers, conspiracy theories and otherwise to explain a sudden spell of freak accidents resulting in numerous deaths. While Moros had revelled in the wake of his work, Changmin had little knowledge of it, though the thoughts he was consumed with and shut out by were repeatedly interrupted by an incomprehensible flurry of sights, smells and sensations. When Changmin had at last come out of himself long enough to realize what Moros had done, he had fought against letting that part of himself loose again, but had little leverage. He was only freed when Moros had exhausted himself by a means that Changmin was relieved he could not recall, but sickened by his awareness of nonetheless. An occurrence that had ‘awakened’ him to the realization that he had gained himself another possessor, one that chose to make his claim clear by chaining him with a wide metal cuff that now clung to his left wrist, irremovable...and having destroyed the watch that had been in its place. The watch that had been gifted to him through Bom. Knowing that Moros would not rest long, it was with what was likely foolish haste that Changmin had begun following through with a decision that he had not fully settled on. One that begun with harvesting a soul that he held hostage as opposed to having immediately destroyed as he had been tasked. One that he had bribed into sending a message to Han Geng – a message to meet him – in exchange for a place in Elysium...something Changmin nor Moros had any control over. Before the soul had even come to stand before him again therefore, Changmin had called out to it as it approached to confirm that the message had been passed along, and once he was certain it had...his sorrowful eyes conveyed nothing but regret as he crushed the seed within his hand and sent the man instead to Hades.
