Before Narinder, there were the vixens.
This game’s writing is pretty good at making you sympathize with characters that do monstrous things. I’m just gonna assume everyone in it just exists in a premoral world where egoistic violence is the norm. Where everyone is either a threat or someone to be subdued for survival, and everyone only knew how to secure what they want through conflict and power.
And the Bishops were just mortal creatures who picked up the crowns in order to better achieve what everyone else was using power to achieve anyways. And they only knew others as threats or tools, so that’s how they go about treating mortals until they find someone like them. And rather than treat each other as threats or tools they kinda respect each other for being people in this world who chose to wield the same power to get by, and they kinda decide to cooperate and share in the strange journey of crown wielder-ship with the only other people in the world whose experiences they could relate to.
And it felt nice to finally have another who they weren’t against but who they could embark on life in a really chaotic world with. But as soon as their continued alliance jeopardized power, the only thing they had known to keep them safe up until then, they threw away companionship to hold onto their old way of safety and immediately felt miserable at what they lost. But maybe had to deny it because why let go of safety and prosperity secured by personal power for this new sense of family that they found? Could it really be worth more than that? Better to just blame each other rather than themselves for starting a conflict of interest, for ruining a good thing, when that good thing could have been able to endure a conflict of interest, if they just give up the way of life they knew up until then and relied on someone else even if that meant relinquishing power over them and maybe giving up immortality altogether.
They’re people who chose power over family because the first thing was the only thing they knew to rely on and strive for up until then and it made them feel conflicted. They seem like people who would have preferred companionship over just struggling with everyone for power and survival forever, so now I’m like these are pretty relatable, premoral, recklessly self-interested people. I’m glad they could make up and rekindle a sense of family afterwards. Like wow, I don’t hate these people anymore, good for them actually. RIP to all the people they hurt though, they should do like 100 lifetimes of humble living and unpaid community service to barely start to make up for it or something, idk.
The scene where Narinder praises the Lamb for selling out Ratau, the closest thing Lamb has to a family figure at the time, for a gain in power is so. It just parallels his actions up until then it seems like he’s doubling down like “yes, this is totally what you should do, choose power over caring for people, good job, I respect that” to assuage his own sense of cognitive dissonance and guilt. “yeah the emotional grief of this trade is just weakness leaving the body amiright??” Very interesting and sad.
Just made a little arm bone reference for myself and then thought why not share it with ya fellas! I actually first didn’t know how arm bones worked and it was difficult to imagine it too but when noticing that bone which moves top of other one is always on same side as thumbs it became rather simple.
I hope this is helpful to you too fellas who draw characters with some skeleton arms~!
Always play with your references to make sure you like drawing The Character.

Took a break from the ceaseless job search side hustle commission hunt income acquirement quest to clean up a pencil sketch until no pencil remained.
Might disappear after this because I don't have enough income to pay rent. Don't quote me on that, though. A commission or gig could change things.

"I see why you need me. But why do I need you?" A heartbeat passes. Narinder drops and hits the ground like he's been shot. Hamal lets out a startled bleat. They trip and stumble in their rush to get over to him, half-scurrying, half-crawling the remaining three feet of distance. Narinder lies on his back, arms and legs jerking. Did he hit his head? They cradle the back of his skull as gently as they can and lift, trying to inspect it while he still trembles away. No sign of injuries. But he does not wake— he only shakes, his eyes closed, his expression frozen in one of pain.
What do you MEAN the most innocuous-looking (by description) AO3 fic contains drama of this caliber???
I adore Narilamb because it's the kind of love where vulnerability feels more intimate than sex because being seen is the real terror
Full animation done ! Ended up taking a bit to make all the little shading and drawing details, and left the bg that way but I'm very happy with the results Not perfect but I hope it looks good enough to you all ! Really like how I managed the lo-fi part of it Thanks to River Boy for such an amazing soundtrack, this animation is my tribute for him as well. Rest in Peace.
Thanks for the attention. I love you! I'll post more soon, promise.
The job search and commissions have to come first, though.
AU-PRIL is Finished!

I want to appreciate the other chapters more, but I keep coming back to the cat cafe AU. That's so creative?? Can we have it in slow burn?
(Spectators ignore my rambling, as the writer has made a strawpoll where readers can actually tell that of which they'd like to see more.)
As much as we love making shittens, hear me out...
Lamb bearing Lilith's curse to lose their children after childbirth due to them being the god of death and Narinder being heartbroken that he and Lamb can never produce a child
I'll raise you that they've known of this inability for almost as long as they've been the Lamb and that they won't tell Narinder, former god of death, mentor to the twins and the surprise favorite jungle gym of the local child population, that this is why they remain so closed off and purposely difficult to love.
Worship, certainly, but never love.
shhhh i'm just here to cram more guyliner narinder into the fandom kthnxbai
behold, the one who sleeps
This isn't what I wanted...
