Not a question insomuch as holy shit, welcome back! I always hoped you would return. I've followed this blog c. 2015 and never bothered to unfollow (vague hope, I guess, and I kept coming back to this for resources). It was surreal to see your froggie in my dash. I'm excited to see what you've amassed over the years ✨
Sorry for being gone so long, but also, happy this thing was still usefull to people >.<''
Sending you a little <3 because welcome back!! I've been following you for at least 13 years and never forgot the little frog/toad that would fling art resources onto my dash :)

Free Book of Drawing Exercises
Hey guys! I just wanted to share an incredible free resource from a great artist. Brokendraw on youtube created a book of 25 drawing exercises and (shockingly) decided to offer it for no cost. Though you can give him a tip! Link to him talking about the book. Link to download the book These are all the foundational exercises that can build real competency in drawing. It's the same stuff any good art school will teach you. Anyway, go check it out!
Tips for Budding artists
1. DON’t COMPARE YOURSELF TO ANOTHER ARTIST!!!!!!!!!!!! - You don’t know how many years they’ve been making art - You don’t know if they’ve taken classes
2. DON’T DO IT!!!
3. Do gesture drawings!!! They’re really fun and it helps a lot
4. Try sketching with pens! Practice permanence!
5. Study the anatomy and composition of the body! - It’ll make your art look pleasant! - You’ll learn stuff!
6. Learn abt flow and lines of action!
7. Use refs!! Refs are your best friends!!! HOld Them like a lIFE LINE!!!
8. Use basic shapes for guidelines and build off of them!
9. LIGHT PRESSURE!! Draw lightly!! Use heavier pressure for detail!
10. Block in colors and shading! - Lay down your areas of color or shading and then go back and refine it
11. Believe in yourself!!! You CAN do it!! 12. Ask for help! Ask for criticism!
13. Mistakes are okay! Use them!
14. Start breaking things down into basic shapes! Pencil??? Boi thats a long rectangle!! + illuminati
15. Try to draw daily, if you can’t thats okay, just try to draw when you can,
16. Try new mediums and new techniques!
17. Use inspiration! Anything that inspires you??? Use it!!!!
18. It takes years! Of Practice!! You’re not gonna be Leonardo Di Vinci in 5 days!
19. DoN’t COmPare ursELF TO LEONARDO DI VINCI
20. There’s always a way to improve, theres always something to learn
21. If you’re frustrated or stressed out by your art! Take a break, watch speedpaints look at other people’s art
23. Doodling is still art
24. Have fun!! Try to make drawing something relaxing rather than a chore!

It says "mother and child" but these could just as easily be used with any older guardian figure or even an older sibling, etc.
*(*´∀`*)☆ - How to draw honey/shiny stuff :

Quick step by step originally asked by @floatingmegane-san and @suke1234.( thanks for asking! )
i doesn’t really explain anythin’ but that’s how i do it !
I added two quick color palettes and an exemple (a kind of honey bear made for school )
My hand is so tired of drawing hands.
I made this as a personal reference to myself, all of these hand positions I need to learn. So I posed my hands and traced over them to get the basic shapes. Literally, the same day in art she had us working on hands. I don’t know if I’m getting better, but I thought I’d upload this for personal reference? I don’t know.
Enjoy I guess? I don’t own the last two images, those are taken from google. The rest of the original images I took myself.
We are almost ready to publish our second volume, but ... We've gotten ZERO art submissions!

OK SO this is how I showed perspective to a student that was having difficulty visualizing it
Draw the buddy
Use a transformation tool (usually ctrl + click on the small squares)
fill it up like a balloon not forgetting some things cover others
Keep going! That way you keep your proportions right, etc
And don’t forget references for the angles (which I didn’t use here hahah)
EDIT: Keep in mind this is just a way of sketching things easier, not a fool proof perspective drawing method. If you are studying art seriously please do not skip any steps on groundwork and take time to learn the basics, observe nature and references and really grind for that xp, okay? Take care and good luck on your journey!

Just made a little arm bone reference for myself and then thought why not share it with ya fellas! I actually first didn’t know how arm bones worked and it was difficult to imagine it too but when noticing that bone which moves top of other one is always on same side as thumbs it became rather simple.
I hope this is helpful to you too fellas who draw characters with some skeleton arms~!
