A brief pause. “It’s not like he cares. What’s he going to do, ground me?”
“ In the Fields of Asphodel. Among constant noise and invasive souls. ” arching a single brow, he stepped forward, “ I do believe you are skipping over some details. Come. To my palace. We need to discuss how you got in in the first place, daughter of Thanatos. ”, walking by the girl, he gestured her to follow, cloak sweeping behind and leaving a chill to the air.
“ I can ground you. He just has the better gaze of disappointment. ”

“So that’s how you show yourself.” There’s a hint of bitterness as she gets up from the dead’s side, old age providing a peaceful passing for the elderly lady who had given her and the group permission to camp on her land. She had given the woman one of the last drachma they had in return. Looking at the god, she scowled. “Make sure she gets to a good place.”
“ You know that’s not it, child... ”, the god only gave a half-hearted argument against the girl, now was not the time for such things. “ Do you feel her soul as I do? She was a strong woman-- Physically and mentally. The goodness in it strikes even me. She has earned her place among the bles’t in this life through her kindness and warmth. ”

“Well this is awkward.” Awkward wasn’t quite the right word, but sneaking into normally undesirable territory and being found by one of the few gods no-one wanted to be found by was really, well, awkward. “…Lord Hades, what a pleasant surprise.”
“ Save the pleasantries and do explain why you’re down here. Never mind how you even got in, I can tell from here that Cerberus is fast out. ”, he was well past irritated-- more outright exhausted. It made more work, now, to keep young demigods from being able to enter so easily, he’d certainly have to place more guards around-- Perhaps harpies would work better.

well, death has come for him, one way or another. jason can’y say he’s surprised. is this because he tried to ground nico that one time? because that was mostly ( mostly ) a joke. whatever way he goes about this is sure to cause some kind of ruckus but, on the upside: it wouldn’t piss his dad or poseidon off, much. the other gods, who knew? but these three had ISSUES to work out. maybe their parents needed to get them a get-along-shirt.
jason picks up the dark shroud he’d pinched from cabin ten, and throws it over his head, so he effectively looks like a cross between a lampost and a bin bag. or, what amounts to pluto in his head. then he turns to hazel, spreads his arms wide, and says HUUUUUG MEEE, DAAAAUUUUGHTER.
understandably, she screams, and runs. maybe flings something at his head. ow.

It’s gone right over his head. “ Oh… I don’t recall seeing a name on the ‘to die’ list at this particular time… Must have slipped past somehow– or you’ve slipped past Thanatos– Very well, I’ll take you to my palace at once to be judged, your actions will decide your fate– yada yada yada… I hope you don’t mind my skipping the speech. Come along– What’s your name? ”

THANATOS (death) &&. UKARA (abomination)

Finally coming within reach, the warmer season seemed to have tasked itself with making its impending approach as lazy as possible. Whilst patient than most, even the divine found themselves teetering towards the notion of prayer for a quicker arrival of something quite vital to their survival — albeit knowing that if they were to submit to a ( surely tedious ) litany, ‘twas not their god to whom their prayers should be directed to. Nevertheless, times where they may have spent in prayer were instead used to sit out in the still too - few hours where the sun ( ever - warm / ever - providing / ever - powerful ) still loomed overhead.
Today had been no different, truly, with their form hunched almost lazily from their perch atop of a stone; their back facing the sun ( & unknowingly: this stranger who lurked in the midst of shadows ), their attention had been ensnared by the gilded serpent which had been slithering ‘round the grass at their feet. In fact: ‘twas this very creature whose attention had firstly been roused by newfound company, even before he sought to make himself known. Soundlessly did it coil itself ‘round an ankle, stilling itself until it looked nothing more than a decoration worn by many in times long before this one.
Erecting their posture ( after, of course, securing their shirt’s tie ‘round their neck once more, to keep the front from slipping free ), the divine peered o’er a shoulder & towards this person. Kindly mannerism was what had been noticed first ( & the energy surrounding him had thus been noted second, albeit it holding their attention for less — ‘twas not like they were skilled in differentiating energies to start ). With laughter no bolder than a summer breeze, lashes draw o’er gilded stare as they finally spoke in return, ❛ Do you frequent here often, Sir? I fear you’re a foreign face to me as well. ❜
“ Perhaps not as oft as I should... But when I do happen to travel, I suppose I do. ” The man approached slowly, taking care to not slip over the sleety grass, “ Perhaps you stand out by looking out of place in this weather... I am usually here in autumn. But you look as if you’d belong in spring and summer, like fabled dryads and nymphs. ” Wherever ‘here’ happened to be, he hadn’t payed any mind-- He merely sought out the nearest exit of his realm.
“ Ah-- Forgive my rudeness-- Yassou. I am Helladius. ” He gave a small wave to the being, a more natural smile gracing chapped lips as he took in the presence of the other ( He certainly knew now; the other being was not human, and not one too familiar to him. ) He made move to hold one hand out for the other to shake, now by their side, not looking directly at them, but just so slightly past, at light seeming to circle around the other.
strangely enough, jason has never quite liked pomegranates. something about the taste of them was off to him, or maybe nico left a lasting enough impression of that unfortunate jar incident to remind him permanently about the wonders (and dangers) of pomegranate seeds. and as soon as nico crosses his mind, jason is searching for a hint as to who is addressing him. which underworld god was he facing? greek or roman? jason flounders for a moment, staring, before he recovers himself.
`lord hades,` jason says, at long last. it’s followed by a polite nod of the head. `if i’d known you were in here, i’d–uh. not have appeared in this, um, state,` fat lot of good it would do to say that; being around the outside world had jason constantly looking over his shoulder for monsters–today had been no different, even when one of the bastards actually attacked. there’s a tear in his jeans, and claw marks on his arms. but he’s REASONABLY sure he isn’t dead, or dying. `took a wrong turn, somewhere. probably…maybe?`
and that, sadly, was less of an explanation than a subtle attempt at clarifying: am i here because i’m dead? did i die? thalia would be pretty pissed if he’d actually died. he tries to lighten things a little to settle his nerves. hopefully hades was less highly strung than his dad. `um. g-great place you have here, by the way.`
“ A wrong turn...? Perhaps, if you were looking to leave. My assumption is that when my betrothed left for the seasons’ change, her arrival just so happened to be right where you happened to be standing. ”
The god couldn’t help but wonder briefly, how the boy had found his way into his dining room-- but ‘twas better that he’d come into the palace, rather than disturb Cerberus’s slumber.
Caught off guard, though, by the sudden change in train of thought, Hades glanced over the room-- basic in appearance, dark stone walls, wooden dining set ( IKEA, perhaps? ), and simple iron light fixtures, “ Thank you. At my son’s insistence, we only recently added electricity to the building... It’s odd to say the least. But ‘tis also odd to see a young demigod-- Roman, at that, appreciate my simplicity in decor. Most expect precious gems and metals from the god of wealth... ” Not to say there wasn’t a room of pure silver somewhere in his domain, “ I digress.... and have all but forgotten the initial subject. ”

The god sat comfortable upon makeshift throne, robes flowing like ink as he shifted in his seat, crossing one leg o’er the other and leaning against arm. There was hardly a time he’d come to expect a young breathing demigod to greet him at the palace, but if all other shenanigans were considered, how could he not any longer? Perhaps, in more optimistic sense, meeting the young blonde as he came from a meeting himself was a much more pleasant surprise than any one else he could meet beyond his own two.

Forgive my not being the best host, had I have known there would be a demigod wandering about my realm, I might have perhaps prepared something more formal than sitting at a dining table without something to your taste. Unless, of course, you like pomegranates. ”
