I’m literally crying rn

So, my friend came to visit me and we were just chatting when he saw my tumblr so we started talking about it. The MAP and NOMAP thing came up and he said “I think you’re one of those”. I got so nervous I couldn’t look him in the eye then he was like “but nobody chooses who they are attracted to you know. pedophiles don’t choose to be pedophiles, they choose their actions towards that attraction” and OMGGGG I feel so much better. Also, we talked about how trying to prohibit people to ship fictional characters isn’t going to do any help because that’s the ONLY way these people have to fulfull their desires without doing harm to children. Otherwise we’ll just have a bunch of frustrated people. Imagine knowing you’ll have to live your life without ever fulfilling that desire because you’d never want to traumatize someone. Actual child abusers aren’t on tumblr looking at rickmorty fanart, they are preying on actual children. We are just trying to cope and feel good not hurting others.

Antis telling us to die or hide in a cave isn’t helping. MAPs will always exist so let’s try and help maybe(?)

So uhm yeah, I’m really happy I have friends who support me and know I’m not a monster irl :)

THOUGHTS ON C137CEST ANTI’S

No one really follows me, so this post is really just gonna float in the Ether of tumblr and that’s cool; but I had some thoughts I wanted to put down. There are a lot of people who are triggered and angry about RAM smut, and the argument always seems to be that they’re mad about Morty being sexualized because the character is a minor. This would make sense to me in theory… EXCEPT THE SHOW DOES THIS CONSTANTLY. Morty is shown in multiple episodes to be in sexual situations. He has a harem of girls in bed with him in Lawnmower Dog. He gets a sex robot from Gazorpazorp pregnant and becomes a teenage father. He is seen attempting to get to second base with the older girl (unknown if she is adult) in Anatomy Park. He is shown flirting with an adult woman in Rest and Ricklaxation, and later seen romantically with another adult woman in his apartment. We have seen his cartoon bare naked ass countless times in episodes, and there is a canonical club with stripper poles that specifically feature Morty’s dancing for money. Not to mention the highly sexualized Miami Morty in the still canonical Pocket Morty’s game. All of these examples constitute “sexualizing a minor” by the description Anti’s use. By this logic, they should be avoiding the entire show altogether. If that was truly what bothered someone, the content of the show in general should be bothersome. If someone watches the show and sees nothing wrong, but takes to the internet to harass people for shipping an entirely fictional, entirely animated pairing, then that person is choosing when to be offended by something. And don’t even get me started on the argument of it being “about the incest.” Half the world’s population is obsessed with Game of Thrones; a show concocted out of equal parts dragons, nudity, and incest. If that were really your problem, you’d be sending this hate to HBO. This is not to say that I don’t see how this ship is problematic. It is. Absolutely. And literally every person who’s blog i have lurked on is under no misgivings about that fact. Thankfully, the vast majority of the world can distinguish the difference between reality and fiction. One can watch Supernatural and not believe in ghosts. Or one can watch Hannibal and not decide to murder and eat people. And one can watch Rick and Morty, ship the two main characters, and not become or endorse hebephilic sexual relations with a minor.
