Here’s a recap of my first 10 pages of this Marvel VS DC series. When I started on this series, I never could have imagined how popular it would get. I am thrilled and humbled by the shares, redraws, and new followers that have been a response to these posts. I originally thought that this series would top at a dozen or so pages, but the number of similar characters between DC and Marvel is so much larger than even I initially thought. Not only will I easily fill this 40 page sketchbook, but I will have to not include many that I have already discovered or had recommended to me. And if anyone is curious to my criteria, it is as follows: 1. Characters must have more than superficial similarities. They must have substantial overlap. 2. At least one character must be well known. (Obscure copies of obscure characters are boring) 3. Both must be characters are part of the overall universe and don’t only exist as a one note homage or parody. That being said, let me know who you’d like to see included in this book before it completes. And since not everyone knows every character that was included, here is the list for these sketches with the original marked. 1. Batman (original) - Moon Knight 2. Punisher (original) - Vigilante 3. Guess who! Then and Now. How quickly did you recognize this character’s original look? Here’s my first page of my brand new Moleskine sketchbook. I thought I’d start this book with a series of sketches showing how characters started , and how there are now. I guess it’s my version of the “How it started, How it’s going” meme. This first one is pretty easy. Some of the ones I have planned might stump you. Here's my 100 minute Deathstroke to add to my earlier 10-1-10 challenge. I was hoping to do a more elaborate background but I used up too much time on that armor. I was also hoping to go more photo-realistic, but I couldn't do it in 100 minutes, so I had to stick with a mix of shading and line art. Hopefully it came out ok. Let me know what you think. Here is my Endgame Captain America painting. As soon as I saw this on screen I knew I had to paint it. This was by far, my favorite scene from the film, and the entire marvel universe. Here is my short and sweet slightly spoilery review. Endgame is an unbelievably epic conclusion to the first 22 films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Although it was over 3 hours long, it certainly didn't feel it. It is filled with so many wonderful moments that I won't even bother to list them. From insane action sequences(Avengers Assemble!) to surprisingly emotional scenes, the film satisfies at every level. I loved so much of this movie that it feels bad to bring up any negative issues, but I was a bit disappointed with Captain America's final act and the messy and mind numbing plot holes that come along with any time travel movie (sorry but the whole alternate time line approach fixes some plot holes but then creates a whole bunch of others). Nevertheless, criticism aside, Endgame was possibly a once in a lifetime experience that somehow succeeded at what should have been impossible. A 22 film cinematic universe wrapped up neatly with a beautiful bow tied with precision and mastery. Absolutely MARVELous. What are your thoughts? Did you like the film? When I drew these two Flash sketches several years ago, I never imagined for even a second that Ezra and Grant would share the screen together.
