PS: The boots in the first pictures have been destroyed 💔 The leather to peeled off to the point of no repair, so they had to be replaced 😭
The coat was made out of two thrifted others jackets, which I combined lol. The skull was a Halloween decoration. The boots are also thrifted, together with the shirt and pants, and all the belts are out of foam.
DSD is two wooden sticks sandwiched between two pieces of cardboard, same as the guns. The LEDS are in between two pieces of transparent plastic with some transparent black fabric in between.
The gun holders were my special addition (I don't have magic pockets like Dante does), made out of foam with hot glue decorations.
Just as the picture said, they're two pieces of cardboard, cut + taped around the elbow area so they allow you to bend your arm, covered in fabric and painted. The spikes and claw are made out of foam.
They attach to your arm with velcro straps.
The wig was a simple curly white wig which's been straightened and painted grey at the roots. The horns are made out of foam, with wooden sticks to keep them up for support on the headband.
Coat is made out of two thrifted coats sewn together ( quite poetic might I add) + paint.
Vest is thrifted as well and mostly foam+ fabric;
What about the wings and tail?
Tail is also held by velcro — under the coat and on the vest.
Just like the coat, Yamato was made from two plastic swords ( found at the children's toys section), some foam and fabric+ scrap leather for the sheath.
As for the horns and wig, we're looking at a slightly altered wig that had its bangs cut and reglued — and some plastic and foam held together by hot glue and shiny lights.

This con was almost a month ago, but here I am with a post about my experience at the "Shinobi Festival"! It happens yearly on a city nearby and I was able to attend the first day with my Vergil cosplay. It was my first con, I was a little bit lost at first (I'm a major introvert) but in the end I enjoyed it so much! There are pics and more details under the cut, if you want to keep reading, let's gooo!~
I had to travel and I ended up arriving late at the con (around 5PM). So I didn't put too much makeup because I was afraid of ruining it and having to start over lol But this is how I looked like:
Sorry for the TERRIBLE photo quality, I don't know what happened 😭 In the week before the con I decided to make Vergil's boots out of EVA foam and it worked?? They even looked like real boots! I felt like my cosplay was missing something, so they were a huge upgrade! I'm glad that they worked this well.
Then I went to the con with my brother and his girlfriend as my support staff haha It was their first con too, and they loved it. There were lots of people cosplaying, some intending to participate in the competition and they really looked like pros. In the end I wasn't able to compete because the competition happened on the Sunday, and I was only able to attend at Saturday 🥲 I was a bit disappointed but I plan to participate in other cons, so there will be other opportunities for me to compete with this cosplay and I'll have more time to refine it.
In the event people asked me for pictures every minute and I admit it scared me a little bit because I'm a huge introvert (I'm REALLY not used to having spotlights on me), but in the end I was very happy because people complimented my work and it was very nice to meet other DMC fans. I even recorded a video for a guy's girlfriend who is a HUGE Vergil fan but she wasn't able to attend, and it was so fun because I'm a HUGE Vergil fan too! haha He showed me her reaction and she loved the video. So moments like these made it all worth it. Even though I was a bit tired at the end, I was still very happy to be there.
The major point of the event surely was this Dante cosplayer that was there too. I spotted him as soon as I entered the place and we both asked each other for pictures at the same time 😂 He was a fun guy and he was so happy to find a matching cosplayer. I was so thrilled that I couldn't even keep myself on character:
You would never see Vergil smiling that much lol But I bet he was feeling just as happy when he met his brother after all those years.
Of course we had to remake the CHAIR MEME, sadly the event didn't have the exact lawn chair, but the picture still turned out very funny:
To the user that wanted to see the sitting pictures, here they are! The fabrics ended up bulking a little because of the lining, since I used jacquard. But thankfully it was very comfortable to wear, my prayers were answered and the weather was cold that day. The only thing that bothered me was the wig cap (major cosplayer enemy), it gave me a little headache but it faded away as soon as I took it off.
So that was my experience in my first con, wearing my first cosplay! I'm planning to attend another con next month, but I'm still not sure if I'll be there as a cosplayer or artist (I applied for the Artist's Alley and I'm still waiting for the result). If I don't manage to join the AA, I'll be wearing this cosplay again because being Vergil - even for a day - feels AWESOME.
