Duke thomas week day 4 is on hold cause I've been busy and I'm tired. I've started the chapter but I haven't finished it so I'll do it tomorrow. May combine it with day 5 and just write more. Who knows, certainly not me.

Duke Thomas week 2026: day 2

So the prompt I went with here was pre-robin, but it does fit into the Duke joins the batfamily early one as well. Also used the trans Duke prompt as an excuse to push my non binary Duke agenda because all my faves will be non binary at some point. This will be connected to day 4 and the reverse robins au prompt!

Duke Thomas Week 2026: Day 1

So I didnt end up picking one of the prompts for today specifically, because I didn't really have anything in mind for them. So, I chose the bonus prompt of Duke is Batman

I'm not too happy with how it came out but I really enjoyed doing the costume design. I wanted to mix various aspects from his Signal costume in with the general Batman costume aspects. He's very yellow. I didn't want to draw hands so he has light instead. For blinding or something.

Jaybin art wip

Wanted to do a stained glass style thing. It's not done yet but I'm pretty happy with it so far. This is pretty experimental for me so I've been fucking around on krita with colouring etc. This was actually inspired by a silly doodle I did on a whiteboard a bit ago so I'll post that with the finished piece

I love my Red Hood hoodie.

I made it via Frankensteining 2 different jackets together (hence why it's a little wonky). It was super fun to do, I also used it for my Red Hood cosplay back in March when I went to comicon!

Excerpts from a fic I'm writing (once again its about Jason Todd)

Warnings!: body horror, delusions (that part isn't explicit but that's what's happening), gore, bugs, decay, generally kinda gross stuff depicted, suicidal thoughts (no actual suicide)

This is unedited because I haven't gotten round to it yet.

Jason's taken to wearing long sleeves and gloves constantly, not showering fully so he doesn't have to see the rot creeping up the limbs. He knows they're dead, knows the blood is separated, hands purple and upper arms pale. The flesh is decaying, bloating and rotting slowly. There's maggots under his skin, eating through fat and muscle and burrowing into bone. He feels them squirming sees the bulges under the cloth when he looks too closely. Sometimes he stares at them moving, tempted to peel away the cloth that's surely caked in blood and viscera, other times he vomits at the sight.

Jason only leaves to patrol, thankful for his incredibly well stocked panic rooms. He moves between safehouses when he needs to, but he doesn't want anyone to see him like this, slowly rotting away. He can smell it, the putrid stench of decay following him. Bugs buzz in his ears searching for food in his rotting limbs, they crawl up him and burrow into his skin. He can move them through sheer will, the cloth the only thing keeping his flesh from falling off his bones. Jason can't take it off, doesn't want to fall apart. Not yet.

Now that he can't patrol, Jason considers just killing himself. He can't help anymore, he has no purpose. Except he can't grip the gun, has only been eating and drinking through sheer stubbornness. Maybe this is punishment for how he spent his second life, maybe he was meant to go about it a different way, maybe he didn't help properly. The Bats will do a better job, he's sure. So, Jason rots away in his safehouse, feels the decay creeping towards his torso.

It comes from all angles, down from his shoulders and up from his pelvis. He puts on a shirt to hide the way the blood separates as he lays on the bed, hide the way maggots bulge under his skin. His limbs don't work anymore, nothing but bone and bloody fabric. The flat smells of rot, it makes Jason sick and all he can do is roll over and throw up over the side of the bed. He's so tired. He wants it to be over.

With the Joker dead, Jason had to make new plans for his reveal. After taunting Batman endlessly, the two of them meet at his grave and Jason finally reveals his identity to the man who was his father.

It goes about how he expected, so why does it still hurt?

Bruce thought his some had come back from the dead, but it turned out to be a monster wearing his son’s face. He doesn’t tell anyone, not wanting to hurt his family by telling them Red Hood had crawled out of Jason’s grave.

Bruce knows it isn’t his son, so why is he seeing so much of Jason in the new crime lord?

In which Jason has evil plans, has some things confirmed, and contemplates love, Bruce is a less than stellar parent, dehumanizes someone as a coping mechanism, and has a bad night in a graveyard.

The pit was ever present. It was in his blood, crackling like lightning. It wrapped around him gently like a blanket. It cradled his mind and kept him thinking. In turn, Jason fed it. He fed it blood. He fed it screams. He fed it thrill.

What mattered was that he had a second chance. A second chance he would use to make a change. The pit helped him achieve his dreams, so Jason fed it.

Were he and the pit really separate anymore? Had they ever been truly separate?
