Only on a journey among worlds woven from the threads of the Universe's ancient energy is the truth revealed to the Keeper of Worlds.
a master post with brief descriptions of the main characters overview of the setting's lore
Lore
The Universe consists of a powerful, energy-radiating Core from which everything originated - Worlds, magic, and the first god, known as the Creator. The Creator brought other gods into existence, among them Tenebris, who harbored a desire to destroy Worlds. Since all gods are composed of the same energy, they cannot oppose one another; thus, they resolved to create an artifact capable of challenging the gods and to entrust it to a chosen individual known as the Keeper. The First Keeper was a simple man who was given the ability to use magic in a special way - to open passages between Worlds and to use any magic. When the First Keeper died, this power was passed on to his granddaughter. This power is still passed on to this day, and thus the line of Keepers was born. Since then, the Keepers have protected the Worlds from destruction, battling the spawn of Tenebris and other creatures intent on disrupting the harmony of the Universe
main characters
Filimon - the Keeper of Worlds
Fil was born into a lineage of Keepers whose power is passed down every other generation. His parents kept his destiny a secret from him, wishing to shield him from the weight of the burden and fearing the hunt for the new Keeper. The family was hiding in one of the safe Worlds - far from the cities and behind a barrier created by the previous Keeper. However, Fil couldn't grow up in complete isolation, so at thirteen, he was sent to school. Nevertheless, he was unable to make friends at school. He was well-liked by almost everyone, yet no one truly included him in their circle. Still, school did teach him the skill of winning people over. On the bright side, he found himself an internet friend - Bis. At seventeen, he decided to leave home (moved in with Bis) in an effort to figure out what path to pursue next. It was there that his destiny caught up with him - something brought him the Keeper's ultimate weapon: the Crystal of Worlds. He managed to open the first portal to another world precisely because his friend took him to a real witch. In the new World, he met his new friends and companions - Bat and Lily.
Lily
Lily was born into a large, conservative family with a tyrannical father and a mother who had lost all hope. As the second daughter, she always served as a caretaker for the other children; she was forbidden from attending school and knew only how to read and write. She tried to learn by watching her brothers and reading books in secret. But at some point, she could take it no longer and ran away from home. A kind elderly woman from a neighboring settlement took her in, while her parents made no attempt to find her, believing she had disgraced the family with behavior deemed "unbecoming of a woman." Yet, this very circumstance saved her: she was able to lead a quiet life and find her first friend, Bet. He helped her acquire some knowledge - effectively acting as a substitute for a schoolteacher to fill the gaps in her education - and even introduced her to technical subjects. At the age of twenty, she met Filimon and began traveling across Worlds with him - initially out of curiosity about the unknown, though she later decided she wanted to help people
Bat
He lived with his father, who was constantly away from home due to work. In elementary school, Bat was a straight-A student and a good boy. His peers - boys who had joined local teenage gangs - bullied Bat, for in their eyes he was nothing more than a weak nerd. To avoid this, he also joined the gang. Over time, teenage gangs became increasingly dangerous to society, and Bat grew ever more aware that he was drifting away from his own ideal - yet he could not bring himself to walk away. He managing to become the leader. Things changed when he met Lily. His own gang attacked her because she had "trespassed on their territory." Yet, despite her physical frailty, Lily defended herself fearlessly - something that drew Bat to her. He stepped in to help, and through their conversation, they got to know each other a little better and decided to keep in touch. That is how a friendship began. Thanks to Lily, Bat finally left the gang, and after some time, they began living together in her house as friends. Then Fil appeared. Bat started traveling with him because it interested Lily, and he himself wanted to be near her.
Muriel
Muriel doesn't join the team right away; Filimon and his friends cover a long stretch of the journey before that happens... But I often draw the period when they’re all together, so:
Muriel lived in a cyberpunk World. Her mother - a wanderer between Worlds - arrived in this World and, joining the resistance, sought to help its inhabitants bring about change. Muriel’s mother became the movement’s leader and a symbol of the revolution… but was executed by the government. Muriel’s father took the young Muriel and fled to the slums, where the military and police do not venture. Muri strove to become stronger and trained hard; during her teenage years, she began participating in underground fights hoping to catch the eye of the resistance members. At some point, she was indeed noticed. They accepted Muri and decided to turn her into not just a fighter, but a symbol, just like her mother had been. The resistance had long been battling the government and corporations through incremental steps while preparing a plan for a full-scale revolution. Muri accelerated the process. And just as the main plan was being put into action, Filimon appeared in their city. His goal aligned with Muri’s - both of them intended to reach the government. Fil also wanted to help the city achieve a tleast some measure of justice. When it was all over, Fil left, having given Muri a way to contact him. She decided to help others instead by traveling with Filimon. So she asked to join his team.
and this is Flame. He's Fil's sibling (in a some kind...)
They also does not appear immediately and is effectively a secondary character, though he is a fairly frequent presence in the main story...
