âI can see that,â she muttered eyeing him up and down. She snorted. Yes, the wall. How could she forget that? Of course, she knew he was joking, but she still wondered why. Usually people stayed away from topic of their near deathânot Fred though. Talking about it never seemed to bother him, which piqued Angelinaâs curiosity. He took subject more lightly than most, especially George. Merlin, she wished she had the ability to take her troubles as lightly as Fred did. âYes, I seem to recall that. It still didnât knock any sense into you.â Perhaps not the most appropriate thing to say, but if he wanted to joke about it, she would follow his lead. Reaching into her coat, she pulled out a peppermint, unwrapped it, and popped it into her mouth. Sheâd started carrying them around with her after sheâd quit smoking to help curb the urge to light up. âWant one?â
Angelina pushed her knees underneath herself and peaked over the back of the chair as Fred went to the closet. Her heart sped up as he exposed a trunk; she crouched down a little, half expecting fireworks to explode from the truck as soon as he opened it. Surprise surged through her at the sight of frogsânot what sheâd expected at all. She suppressed a giggle as Fred brought one of them over. Her finger ran over the head of little creature, the rough texture of its skin rubbing against her own callouses. âItâs so cute.â Nodding, she listened to his plan, continuing to stroke the frogâs head. âYeah, but frogs are technically allowed to be on the Quidditch pitch since thereâs grass out there. Iâd release them in the Great Hall.â A wicked smile spread across her face as a thought crossed her mind. âOr Filchâs office.â
Surprise over came him as Angelina, in fact, continued on with the wall joke. For a moment, he was shocked speechless, but moments later, a wildly amused grin conquered his features. He knew she could handle it, and he was glad that she threw him that reply. No one really acknowledged his incident in passing, so for someone to do that, it made Fred feel slightly more sane.  â No, that it did not do, â He began, shaking his head in amusement, â But it did give me battle scars, and I know the ladies love battle scars. â He mockingly raised his eyebrows up and down at her in a playfully flirty matter. Her suggestion about the frogs was even better than his original idea, which caused him to throw his hands up in excitement, causing the frog to be tossed in the air before he quickly realized and caught it. â Thatâs absolutely brilliant, Angie ! The Great Hall.. but not on just any night, no -- itâll be a big night. The Halloween Feast! How does that sound? â He couldnât help but laugh at the thought, old Filch cleaning up hundreds upon hundreds of frogs.Â
