Strange Powers - Magnetic Fields (cover 2019)
Gardenhead / Leave Me Alone - Neutral Milk Hotel cover 2014
quick and dirty. it's late. i'm tired.
"Born On A Train" Magnetic Fields cover 2013
this was the first MF song I wanted to cover but for some reason i've put it off until now. i think it turned out sort of neat actually.
I used some of Stephin Merritt inspired percussion techniques and taped some keys to my floor tom. Enjoy!
"Bird On The Wire" Leonard Cohen cover 2012
this song has been covered infinite times, but this one is by far the worst.
"DIstopian Dream Girl" Built To Spill cover 2012
Cut and paste cover of a track from "There's Nothing Wrong With Love." Lost some verses and butchered the chorus.
"Western Cities" original 2012
This is version 2 of "shellsong" (2 posts back)... with lyrics. I know. you don't have to say it b/c i already know it.
"Venus Stop The Train" Wilco cover 2012
I realized a few days ago that i've never covered a wilco song on this blog. That's unacceptable.
This is a cover of a demo track from the Yankee Hotel Foxtrot b-sides and outtakes sessions, known as Wilco's Basement Tapes, and it's one of my favorite songs of all time. Also my favorite cover to date.
"You You You You You" The 6ths cover
This one sounds like a bunch of 8th graders in a garage.
"Tears Are In Your Eyes + Father to a Sister of Thought" Yo La Tengo + Pavement
Double cover.
"Go West" 2011
This one is not a cover. I wrote down some lyrics today for the first time in about 4 years.
